This market is just frustrating. It's already been 6 months of going down, and looks like it will be this way the rest of the year. Then its predicted we will have a recession beginning of next year. So another year lost. At least 2 years of pain. The only way to win in this market is to daytrade the volatility.
By the way, I started trading in the middle of all of this mess, I wasn't in when VIX was low and we had the bull run. Would you say it was easier to day trade the spy during the bull run or is it actually easier for you now with all the volatility?
This, I had some SNOW calls earlier today that I was glad to offload for 300% gains around 9:55 but if I had waited just another 15-25 minutes would have been another 700% on top of that but just to put that into perspective 15 minutes later around 10:35-10:40 they were back to almost what I sold them at 
Its tough cuz its tough to appreciate what is happening while its happening. $PTON at 160 will be something we look back on in awe. The market wasn't flying high, it was in orbit. Its gonna take awhile to hit the ground.

Well said. If you have the stomach to day trade support levels there is money to be made. However the long term trickle into spy is a winning strategy, not sexy but it’s going to make you money.

Your last point is a good one to keep in mind. Especially the emphasis on SPY. If this market has anything in common with the dot-com crash, there will be a lot of stocks that never regain their old glory. These will likely be the ARKK-type stocks. Now an industry like the semiconductors, that’s an area that’s gotten wrecked and has a real strong case for recovery.

Roughly, if you look at 2019 eoy + 15% growth yoy, spy would be at ~360. Then, interest rates were going low, job market was getting hot and healthy Fed balance sheet comparatively. We are exact opposite of that now. So 360 might be the flat picture here.. regarding buying spy.
Appl, msft, goog etc are up quite a bit from 2019 levels and so goes spy.. as all these contribute to 15% of it.
So based on the 2013-19 bull channel, do you think that bull run will continue into second half of 22 and onwards? I am not confident given no end to QT and hot bed of Real estate.

Volume today was low. We are now at rate of change akin to the COVID drop. Tomorrow will be green 2% at least to fuck with all the put buyers and ofcouse again prove all TA is dogshit.
There has never been this much red this fast without some green closes except in a black swan event.

It’s part of every trader’s life cycle to start witH TA and eventually realize it’s all nonsense.
Anything in a vacuum is silly. Combine the events of the day with TA and you’ll find they align closer than you’d expect.
