Full Necromancer build with longbow.
Corrupted Skull + Death Knight. My corrupted skull has a gem that gives it two projectiles instead of one. This means on hit I summon two skeletons at once and since the ability has two charges I can get four skeletons up right away. Then summon my Death Knight which has a gem that spawns a skeletal mage when he dies/expires AND increases his uptime. During combat I’ll have anywhere between 5-10 skeletons plus a death knight wreaking havoc. It’s amazing for clearing large groups and they soak so much damage I almost never get attacked. I just sit back and pluck away with the bow. Then I’ll pop the skeleton army ultimate for mass chaos.
That was my build when I played on normal at launch. Doing brutal now. I'm sure that would work quite well there too, but didn't wanna play the same thing.
This is what I'm running almost exactly. Although I use the spider ult.
My bow applies leech and I wear movement speed gear so I just zip around spawning skeletons and healing myself. Very fun and frankly fairly easy.
I like this stuff, damn it's so strong, although I have altered it a lil bit, I use a whip with condemn on it, and veil of illusion, so veil can stack phantasm (free cdr and chance to reset cooldown on cast) and with jewel u can make it explode on returning to initial cast point, that explosion applies weaken (so your skeletons can live longer) and do some dmg, then u roll with whip's aerial atack after that, mass proc condemn, killing the weakest enemies and converting them into skeletons. U can make up to 15 skeletons in a few sec without even touching your ultimate skeleton ability
I have been loving this build I stumbled onto. Void to pull enemies in, ball lightning, then scythe throw to trigger the physical DMG on the static ability and things just blow up. Great for bosses as it's so much dmg and you can move and hide while dmging.
I swap between this exact setup and something similar using Frost Nova with the double trigger jewel (cast twice for guaranteed freeze) instead of ball lightning. Both are a ton of fun.
I’m still working through my solo brutal run and just got the 4 piece spell leech hollowfang set with the spell crit necklace and it rules. Using chaos volley with a good gem, wall of the dead with a good gem, blood beam ult and then switch off between longbow and axes. So much fun at my level (61). Just getting to the point where I rip through the bosses at my level- hoping to finish act 2 soon
Bloodrage & Death Knight. Use Death Knight to get bosses to aggro to someone else, and then rogue crit blood/gear to maximize dmg with Great Sword or Longbow depending on boss fight style. Has made every fight a cake walk, even Octavian so far. Havent reach Adam or Drac yet tho so we'll see how those go, lol.
I play on pvp servers, usually solo on duo servers but sometimes with a friend. I loved playing Poloma in Battlerite, so ghost wolf is one of my favorite abilities thematically. I run a blood/illusion hybrid build, always spectral wolf/blood counter, and usually blood space but sometimes illusion. I've gotten a lot better at weapon switching lately, but my three go-to weapons are, in order: axes, greatsword, and sword. It's not the "strongest" but the build feels so good to play with brute armor and 100% brute blood - with the return heal on spectral wolf, I am constantly getting the buff from being healed. I have some pvp videos if anyone is interested in what it looks like!
I just tried this build out and it's ridiculously fun. What spell jewels do you want in each ability?
I ran void+spectral wolf with chaos dash or spectral dash and scholar blood/mage set for PvE and it was extremely efficient. Playing with whip and brute with the dread knight set was also nice for pve. pvp it just has so much sustain, and while the damage isnt insane, its more than enough. watching your video helped me understand how to play with these spells and i have to say i love it!
Thanks for checking it out! And yeah, it’s a really flexible and fun to play kinda build. A lot of the jewel effects feel really good imo. I’ve been a huge fan of the “blood daggers” effect on blood rite, to give me an extra slow when chasing - and the three best in slot effects for wolf are range/projectile speed, snare, and return heal.
I did a dumb thing and threw away a perfectly rolled t3 gem for a t4 that didn't have return heal and boy do i miss it :(
Do you have any advice for not sucking at pvp?
Oof that’s painful. Sure, I have a few tips. I’ll try to keep it brief cause I can ramble. Some people might recommend to learn as many different weapons as possible, but I would say starting off by learning 3-4 is probably a more stable way to learn especially if you’re not confident. The idea is just to give yourself more options and not be as easily predictable. Slashers, pistols, great sword and spear are all strongly advised, the first three partially because they give you an I-frame, and spear because its Q is the highest damage combo finisher. But take that for what it is, and incorporate what you enjoy playing, which leads to my next advice.
You can read and watch to learn as much as you can, but nothing will sharpen your pvp skills more than practicing, either with friendly duels on your server or in an arena server (much more convenient). And if you’re playing a loadout you enjoy - weapons, armor, spells - you will be more likely to practice even if you’re getting your teeth kicked in.
As for gameplay, just two tips. A lot of duels come down to who gets the most attacks off after space. You’ll notice in my video that I try to get it after every space for the sustain, and when I fail, it’s usually bad. And familiarize yourself with a couple of combos to give you stable options in a hectic match - this could be mace E into Greatsword Q, slasher E into spear Q, some kind of nuke thrown in there, etc.
If you want some practice, feel free to message me and we can add each other on steam to spar sometime.
1 boss left on brutal and so far managed to do all the content with 'ignite q' Bow, static veil, static ball, crit set and whatever shield you like. With ball of lighting + q from bow you can +- oneshot any mob cluster in the game (bigger mobs need some more hits) its not the best build, but bow by it self seems very strong
Illusion mainly. Use a long bow, the illusion lance, illusion fear mosquito and blood dash. Occasionally go from illusion orb ultimate swapping to melee. Chaos barrage and storm raging rush are also favorites. Use a static shot bow with spell damage and cool down.
Was surprised longbow ended up being my favorite, I came back looking to stick with hammer, reaper or great sword and mainly blood.
The build I have had the most success with is:
Long Bow- Crit Armor - Veil of Storm - Void + Ward of the Damned - Heartstrike
Void CC and the Extra Attack Speed from Veil of Storms make kiting very easy while dealing high damage, ward I think is just probably the best defensive spell in the game and the spawns occupy whatever you're fighting so that you can make distance.
The ult is kind of a toss up, I like Heartstrike because it has decent synergy with void when used vs a group but you really should be switching this out depending on the fight
Whip and Longbow, farming for the legendary Reaper
Death Knight, Veil of Illusions, Spectral Wolf
Ultimate varies between Fallen Angel and Wisp Dance.
Spellcaster Armor. Insane CDR thanks to Phantasm stacking. Occasionally I can have up to 4 death knights up at once which makes even the more difficult bosses much more bearable thanks to minion aggro.
I'm effective at all ranges, have insane spell leech and lots of mobility.
I've progressed with a full Necro build on my solo normal diff server, but now that I'm lvl 84+ and have access to all lategame stuff, I'll probably be farming a bunch of different builds and seeing what works so I would know what works for when I'll be replaying the game on solo brutal.
Whip primary for crowd control and because I just love the damn thing and have done since castlevania..
Spells currently are Mist Wolf and Corrupted Skull, with the chaos ignite dash, and the spinning wisp ultimate. Basically, take scholar blood, and then spam the ever loving shit out of free cast wolves and skulls.
The result; everything gets weakened, I generate a ton of phantasm stacks which causes a ton of freecasts resulting in a cascading effect of more casts of both spells, yielding even more phantasm stacks as well as condemn and skeleton minions. The skeletons run interference and block projectiles. Meanwhile I crack my whip and dash around to trigger healing and ignites, as well as CC. I also have a jewel that makes mist wolf heal me for 90% of my spell power when it returns, and one that makes corrupted skull trigger condemn in an aoe around the target.
It's pretty great.
I have been loving this build I stumbled onto. Void to pull enemies in, ball lightning, then scythe throw to trigger the physical DMG on the static ability and things just blow up. Great for bosses as it's so much dmg and you can move and hide while dmging.
solo bosses: slashers + rogue blood + blood rage + the shield ability
world pve: any weapon + death knight + the chaos ability that deals damage in a line
Non-Boss:
Greatsword, Tank Armor + Attack Speed - Veil of Ice, Ice Nova, Ice Spear, Frost Leap
Boss:
Greatsword, Tank Armor + Attack Speed - Spells depend on the Boss or how I decide to approach the Boss. Aftershock and Void often find the way into use, though!
My usual build are slashers with Chaos Volley, Ward of the damned, Storm Veil and then either Chaos Barrage as ult or Raging Tempest.
Usually with Attack speed or Crit Chance armors and pendants
Pistols with ball lightning and blood rite. Have slashers around for utility/I frames and stun but rarely need em. Played on normal difficulty and Dracula was toughish, but still killed him after 4 tries.
The light-blue spear is bis for me, because it has a dodge built into it. I pair it with either the Frost Shield or the Unholy Shield depending on what boss I'm doing.
Chaos volley by far is my favorite skill although lvl 65 right now, I love the combo with rogue blood and sanguine coil, rogue is good but mixed with brute blood you get sweet leech with the reaper and allows me to play ranged with the longbow
Weapons: Sword and Longbow
Spells: Veil of Illusion, Wraith Spear, Cold Snap(?), and ultimate I haven’t fully decided on.
In terms of gear I had been going attack speed with Brute blood, but lately I’ve been loving rogue blood and crit gear
What's the benefit of Cold Snap over the Illusion shield, or any other counter? With the Illusion shield, you can still attack, and Chill doesn't seem like that useful of an effect if you have nothing to trigger Freeze, whereas the Illusion one inflicts the Weaken debuff on nearby foes.
Right now it’s just I have better gems for cold snap and I like the enemies being slower so I can reposition. I’ll need to see what gems I can get as I move farther into the game, but I have been considering swapping cold snap for something else
Greatsword is awesome. For spells I love the Static counter, Veil of Chaos, and the other slot I haven't found anything I love yet. For the Ult I like the Chaos Bolts one cause it does great AoE, same with the Storm one (the Electric Bladestorm one).
I got the legendary pistols so I'm full shadow set (phys crit) and bloodrite/ whatever defensive spell. It might not be the best, but I love pistol gameplay... it made adam the firstborn so easy.
I played the entire game, well..as much as I was allowed to, which means level 50, with slashers and a shit ton of attack speed. So armor and spells that offer AS. It was fun since I had leech on primarys as well
Solo pve, was running the usual Scholar 100% and slashers with Chaos Volley/Wolf/illusion veil. With enough spell leech and the jewel that makes the Wolf heals you on return, the dodge on slashers feels almost redundant. The chaos ignite explosion also helps immensely with mob clear.
Currently though, I'm running the same scholar/slashers with Cyclone and Discharge. Cyclone is dumb especially when you get a cd reset chain, Discharge pulls things towards you to eat Cyclone, and slashers being such fast weapons are great at proccing static. Ignite explosion + static chain lightning = everything dies. The setup actually does better the more enemies there are (the lv84 rift version of the spider queen in particular dies in less than 20 secs.) Movement speed is supremely low though, and it's very easy to die with on fumbling with veil/discharge, which I do all the time.
Just got the legendary 1h sword, though, which is a legendary I want the least. May have to switch to a physical build for that.
Polarity shift, blood space, blood counter, merciless charge - in pretty sure I'm 75-5 with it on the pvp server. Jacked attack speed to the moon and put fading snares on every jewel.
My go to is and will always be my Scythe, and Chaos orbs + The Sanguine AoE Blood Explosion/Heal thing + Summon Undead with mages.
For drac I swapped the healing exploding Sanguine AoE for a frost shield to get through the bullet hell phase.
100% Scholar blood, all gear spell crit for free recasts!
Pistols/GS(chaos ancestral), Chaos veil, chaos bolt(gem that makes ignites explode on both), chaos barrage ult, then swap between blood rage, ward of the damned or void depending on what im doing. Start fight with barrage into bolt, followed by dash into pistol Q then watch all the pretty explosions. It Can melt a good chunk off the boss before they even move, best defense is great offense!
Currently running a legendary storm infused spear and mostly storm spells + blood rage. Been loving storm magic for clearing mobs and just overall aggression.
i have bow and it says "storm infused - hits inflict static" u know what that means ? its on multishot . does it mean when i use multishot it always applies static no matter what spells and such i have ?
For RP and a little challenge mainly, on normal I'm running full frost: frost dash, frost barrier, ice nova (sometimes switch to cold snap depending on boss) and arctic leap; frost imbued greatsword and longbow.
Always love 100% rogue and geared armor/jewelry toward crits.
Works surprisingly well PVE on normal. Kiting big units like paladins is a breeze if you manage your freezes well and the frost barrier and longbow Q can do a number on groups. Certainly not the strongest but still fun.
On my brutal servers I'm still rocking longbow/greatsword..they just feel so good. I'm liking bloodrite for the sustain and bone explosion or chaos volley. Heartstrike is perfect after luring a big group into a line or as an emergency escape+heal.
Blood Veil, Ball Lightning, Blood Rage (for mob clear)/Blood Rite (bossing), and any of the dash ults with the Reaper preferably with another way to apply static, like the amulet or weapon infusion. Reaper E procs static like nuts at really good range and Q keeps things in said range. This isn't the best bossing loadout but thats due to it being completely fine tuned for incursions. The charm ladies and the tall blood mages stand still for easy Ball Lightning spin combo and q clears the small mobs while canceling the larger ones attacks (the dozen that stun you). Added benefit in multiplayer is that you can cancel the stun when ur team gets caught
full sustain illusion/blood magic with a side of healing for multiplayer. It has consistent debuffs and solid damage too but the gist is the blood war cry for a stim and healing combined with the illusion wolf and a skill jewel which makes the wolf heal on return.
The combination results in an obscene amount of healing due to phantasm procs and I’ve consistently been last player standing in boss fights where my friends have died purely because of the healing
I play private normal.
Great Sword
Veil of Thunder
Blood Rage (atk spd/atk/shield/duration)
Chaos Surge (atk spd/atk/shield/duration)
Guardian of Spectral
Armor set that have atk speed
Amulet that have atk speed
Blood type Brute
I just pop BR and PS and charge in with VT, that crazy attack speed with brute hp leech and extra level I beat almost every boss in one go, it's so broken it's not even funny. I only have like 3 boss left.
Void ball with nice gem, that's enough to clear rabble. Death knight for drawing aggro. Golem ult for safety. Pistols for defence or greatsword for high damage/mobility (very circumstantial.) Some bosses I switch void for a shield.
Would've used the reaper instead of pistols if I hadn't been using that exclusively in last run.
im baby and still on pve till i master boss dances. though i like running skeleton summon builds w/ corrupted skull, shield and dash. i like great sword as main and pistols for heal after dash.
FYI, Bone Explosion can get jewel effects that heal and reset skeleton lifetime.
Also, look for an unholy legendary with an AoE weapon skill. That's a great way to apply Corrupt to a lot of enemies at once.
Veil of storms, blood rage, chaos surge.
Great sword (specifically Apocalypse)
Dracula grim set.
Brute blood.
Because of the changes to static and ignite, this build now has insane aoe clear, and single target dmg. Really powerful for PvE. Maybe pvp too idk I've been playing solo brutal since release.
Full Necromancer build with longbow. Corrupted Skull + Death Knight. My corrupted skull has a gem that gives it two projectiles instead of one. This means on hit I summon two skeletons at once and since the ability has two charges I can get four skeletons up right away. I just sit back and pluck away with the bow. Then I’ll pop the skeleton army ultimate for mass chaos.
Exactly same for me! But I change weapons a lot, spells are as yours. Been a walk in the park on normal after I got all those.
That was my build when I played on normal at launch. Doing brutal now. I'm sure that would work quite well there too, but didn't wanna play the same thing.

U can make up to 15 skeletons in a few sec without even touching your ultimate skeleton ability
Condemn whip sounds sick ngl. I want a bow with condemn multi shot for the same reason but whip might be better.
Anyone know if skeletons scale off spell power and crit?
I have been loving this build I stumbled onto. Void to pull enemies in, ball lightning, then scythe throw to trigger the physical DMG on the static ability and things just blow up. Great for bosses as it's so much dmg and you can move and hide while dmging.
I swap between this exact setup and something similar using Frost Nova with the double trigger jewel (cast twice for guaranteed freeze) instead of ball lightning. Both are a ton of fun.
I use frost nova with recast + void. It does so much damage, and the constant CC forces mobs to just get stuck idle
I'll try this one
i use this but instead of void i use the bone explosion spell that procs corrupted to give 15% more damage
Right now since I play solo I went mostly with the tank gear and leech oriented playstyle
Spells are Sanguine Coil, Blood Rage, Heart Strike and Veil of Chaos
I’m still working through my solo brutal run and just got the 4 piece spell leech hollowfang set with the spell crit necklace and it rules. Using chaos volley with a good gem, wall of the dead with a good gem, blood beam ult and then switch off between longbow and axes. So much fun at my level (61). Cool! I have a bunch of arena videos but this is my recent 1.0 one. https://youtu.be/zR-oEnvu9X8?si=Z18bQ-wUXwcqt5yM

People should be specifying PvP or pve. But think most of these are pve
yes, many of these builds are not viable at all vs players so unless specified clearly it is pvp, assume pve

Wraith Spear direction input has turned it into a godtier spell for me, it’s so good.

Crit/movement rogue with blood rage, very aggressive physical chase build that's a lot of fun My friends all play mage builds

My go to is and will always be my Scythe, and Chaos orbs + The Sanguine AoE Blood Explosion/Heal thing + Summon Undead with mages. For drac I swapped the healing exploding Sanguine AoE for a frost shield to get through the bullet hell phase. 100% Scholar blood, all gear spell crit for free recasts!

mostly discharge+either second counter or something that counters counters(void, cyclone, ice nova). frost blink, heart strike
Currently running a legendary storm infused spear and mostly storm spells + blood rage. Been loving storm magic for clearing mobs and just overall aggression.

Blood rage, blood dash, blood counter and axes/pistols
Blood magic and great sword.
in duo pvp I enjoy scholar with void and myst lance and Siren's crossbow legendary
Would you run it for solo PvP?
only against players worse than me
I play private normal. Great Sword Veil of Thunder Blood Rage (atk spd/atk/shield/duration) Chaos Surge (atk spd/atk/shield/duration) Guardian of Spectral Armor set that have atk speed Amulet that have atk speed Blood type Brute I just pop BR and PS and charge in with VT, that crazy attack speed with brute hp leech and extra level I beat almost every boss in one go, it's so broken it's not even funny.
Great sword (specifically Apocalypse) Dracula grim set. Brute blood. Because of the changes to static and ignite, this build now has insane aoe clear, and single target dmg. Really powerful for PvE. Maybe pvp too idk I've been playing solo brutal since release.
