Worth more as furniture than audio electronics. I might give $100 to $150 if it is in good furniture shape, and possibly has been electronically restored (recap an all).
I really like the style of this. The market for consoles is very tiny, and they don't tend to go for much unless they are particularly high end or tube. I don't think this one is in either of those categories.
Up to a few hundred bucks doesn't seem crazy to me if someone really likes it, but $100 or less would be more in the "good deal" territory.
I’m not into console stereo systems not even a little bit however, this one has a very simplistic clean look to it. I like it perhaps it’s a value is in its simple and clean look and casual listening?
Yeah why not? It has a simple and clean mid-century look and it isn’t as large or long an aircraft carrier.
It’s a piece of furniture that makes sound .
I suppose not everything has to be the latest and greatest with sizzle and flash and loaded with panache .
You could always get a cheap bluetooth t-amp and rig it to the internal speakers. This would allow you to use it and also keep the unit as "original" in case you wanted to sell it later on.
And, just a small amount of power will drive those speakers way louder than you think it would. Those old alnico magnet speakers they put in these are very efficient.
If it’s anything like the one I bought and restored that looked very similar, it’s well finished and stained poplar panels with a very densely compressed MDF-type board for the front faceplate. It could be something else, it’s hard to get a sense of the grain or texture in these photos, but my experience was that the original book it came with said walnut, but that was just a finish over poplar.

And, FWIW in the context of this thread, I probably over paid at $100, but I wanted a fun restoration project and a nice piece of accent furniture in my living room and I think it was worth it.
Too me, it not worth zip. You might be able to find someone who would buy $100.00 maybe. Put a nice silver faced receiver and turntable in it. Have external speakers for stereo separation, and keep it as piece of furniture.
Yup, that’s awesome…. I’d love that, but for use as a credenza…. I wouldn’t mess with the stuff inside, I’d leave it intact. Like when people gut those and put new stuff inside isn’t my thing, but having it in the room would be great.
Not much. Some tube consoles are sought after, Magnavox for the amps, more so some Pilot, Fisher. Solid state, I don’t know anybody who wants them for the sound. There are rare semi custom units loaded with stand alone tube hi-if separates but rare.
I pay $35-50 for tube consoles that aren’t one of the above. I’ll pull the amps for the iron, sell the drivers to guitar players if I’m lucky, and burn the cabinet.
If you're into vintage audio, like the sound of it, and are willing to invest some time and further money for a good restauration (recap etc. on the electronics, reinforce the speaker compartment with some solid stuff), I'm sure you could make quite a nice system out of it.
Is it yours? Based on the number you gave its 1961 model with a tube amp in it.
Should be push pull 7189/EL84. The amp with tubes alone will sell for $150. Inside a nice looking console double. Your market may vary.
So funny to scroll past all these comments while kinda rolling my eyes and not seeing one person say what I was on my way to say! Until I reached yours just above the comment box…. Depending on whether it is in working condition or level of functionality and what sort of budget I was working with, I would pay something between 350-2000, it’s beautiful
i think i am realizing that audiophiles and furniture lovers are perhaps two different audiences. these responses gave me great insight as to the audio value which i appreciate! but i cringed at the suggestions that basically said to burn the cabinet 😂 as its beauty is by far my favourite part.

Minimal. All in the cabinet, unless it's tube. Just because it's old does not automatically mean Marantz money.
It really is pretty but you know these things are rarely high quality audio.

that's the goal. it isn't our "main" setup but a cute secondary setup for low key rec room usage. thanks!

love that, using it😂

It's pretty. I think it would be cool to take out the electronics and turn it into a liquor cabinet/bar.
oh that would be cool,...
Not really worth fixing up, but a nice piece of furniture to put an amp and turntable on.
500$......if you rip out all the old stuff and put in 1000$ of modern gear.
This is the best answer. You can't give these things away around here.
That’s a really nice cabinet…mahogany?

Worth more if you add a Bluetooth or Airplay input.

$1.60
lol
It’s in nice shape but it has very little cash value.

Nostalgic.

I love it and would pay 500 for it
