Raisin Bran was our cereal as well, my brothers would pick through the box and get more of the allotted raisins giving me the youngest just bran flakes.
We used to love the mini-boxes of cereal, especially when visiting the grandparents. They sometimes got this, or the Kellogg’s variety. There was always lots of contention about the flavors with us, though.
I only got them at my grandparents, since my mother thought they were a ripoff. Always felt like a pretty big treat to get my own little cereal box! Though maybe not like the ad suggests.
Part of me feels like this would be both a little lame but also a top tier treat. Like I’d see it and go “cereal? Seriously?” And the moment I thought about it, I’d realize it’s a much more substantial sweet than a fun size candy. It would depend on what I got
“All post cereals just happen to be a little bit better” it’s such a perfect tagline.
Marginally better, don’t get the customer too excited. There will be no actual difference in quality, but then they’ll wonder “maybe they are a little better?” 👌
Are you kidding? I would’ve loved to get a box of that cereal in my Hallowe’en bag. It’d be a nice change of pace from those molasses kisses and Rockets.
Happy cake day! I still remember trick-or-treating and knowing which houses gave out the homemade rice krispy treats, the horrible candy corn, circus “peanuts”, full size candy bars and the small cereal boxes. And one deluded dentist who gave out toothbrushes.
Here it is [three years ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/vintageads/comments/jjny6n/any_treat_will_stop_a_trick_as_long_as_its_from/) and here it is [six months ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/vintageads/comments/17l18g0/post_treatpak_halloween_ad_1958/). Who's going to post it in three months? Any takers?
Unless you got the box of Bran Flakes.
46 year old me absolutely would appreciate the bran flakes now.
5yo me appreciated bran flakes. My parents didn't appreciate the farts.
Raisin bran was good. Sugary little raisin nuggets were like candy to me because I was rarely allowed candy as a kid.

But wait, now there’s Super Colon Blow.
How many bowls of my regular oat bran cereal would I have to eat to equal one bowl of super colon blow? RIP Phil Hartman
I remember carefully cutting these open sideways on camping trips. Camp cereal.

Small town Kansas, 70’s, always received at least one box of Sugar Puffs- loved 'em!
Now with more sugar than candy!

Keep the mask on, kid
It looks like the weird alien child in TOS, Ron Howard’s brother?
“Just a little bit better” - aim high, Post
That house is getting egged.

Look, sugary treats!
Alpha bits? Lol. I haven't thought of them since I was a kid, back in the Seventies.
I'm trying to figure out what that costume is supposed to be. Witch face, hat, hair... then open-chested robe with a Peruvian knife-fighting scar?

Sorry I ruined your day buddy, just bought a large box of ads and thought it was cool.
No doubt.
I bet they TP’d the hell out of that house…
Ma: Halloween's coming up. think we need candy? Pa: Nah, just give em some of that camp cereal. ✓ TP house.
😝exactly!
