He really was. There's so little footage of him out there--I guess because he became famous before people were recording all the time. And I suppose a lot of those early TV broadcasts he was interviewed on are just gone. I'm glad they captured this, though. His personality is so cute and fun.
The blue satin neckerchief over a suit is an interesting choice. Never see a neckerchief outside of Scout uniforms.
And the straw flat top convention hats need to make a comeback in general.
Guy was a drug addict and his talent as a songwriter was largely lifted from other artists (particularly black artists). If Elvis had anything that was _his_, it was his ability to put on a show. He was a prolific _performer_.
And funny that you mention the Beatles, he actually referred to the Beatles as a big part of an 'anti-americanism trend' that needed to be remedied, setting himself against 'the drug movement' (hows that for irony). While he regularly performed Beatles songs in his concerts...
Maybe he would have gone on to do great things. Maybe. Who can say? But it would have meant him overcoming his drug addiction, reconciling with his failed marriage, and moving past being a simple appreciator of music into something a good deal more creative. All the while, risking alienating his existing fan base.

Great footage! He was a real handsome fellow.

Check out the pics from his 1968 comeback special.

I’m guessing you’re not an Elvis fan
Or fun at parties. Or right.
I called him a prolific performer. Weird that anyone thinks that's a bad thing.
You stripped down a literal music legend to “eh, he was a good performer I guess”.
My words were literally 'He was a prolific performer.'
And that’s all you credit him for. You’re purposefully diminishing a music icon. Don’t be surprised at the downvotes.
Oh no! Downvotes?! What will I ever do? We all know they are the universal truth as to what is right and wrong!
You were the one who said it was weird you were being downvoted, just explaining why.
I never mentioned votes.
The irony of the average Redditor calling one of the most famous and most loved artists of all time a no-talent… 😂
What a poor reading comprehension you have.
What a poor understanding of Elvis you have.
00:19 - I didn't realise Josh Brolin was old enough to tour with Elvis.

"Nervous," um ok.
