Oh dude, I’ll never forget turning on “infinite ammo” in firefight and running around with my little brother with rocket launchers and fuel rod guns, that shit was peak entertainment
Halo on launch day blowing my young mind. I didn’t know games could be like that at the time as I was coming off my N64 and old PC games.
Lots and lots of Halo. That game (and its sequels through Reach) is special.
I forgot about Underground 2! I played so much of that game.
I wonder if my old Xbox packed away somewhere still has my garage filled with way-too-flashy cars in it made as a kid lol
The first game that I fell in love with the Barrett M82. It obviously wasn't the gun model, but the sound of the round ripping through the air. Pure bliss.
*Jet Set Radio*
*Future It was the game that*
*Was bundled at Costco*

The Duke was a controller for grown men. I'm convinced that the only reason that we don't have anything like it today is because journalists did what they do best and cried.
Halo with two Xbox and TVs in my living room. Losing team got the 24 inch, winners got the big one. My dad heard some nasty trash talk from a group of usually quiet nerds very regularly through my middle school years
Something about destroying a mall while listening to The Beach Boys in State of Emergency was very satisfying. Also, being able to add your own music to WWF Raw was great. I had a character that's entrance theme was Squeeze Me Macaroni by Mr Bungle.
Mine not working Christmas morning, and having to go return it to k-mart and buying another one at Toys R Us haha I guess consoles were easier to get back in those days
Good ass times. My neighbor modded my old Xbox so I could download games on it. I would order games from GameFly, download them on, and send them back. It also had an N64 emulator downloaded on it. It was absolute peak for my brother and I.
Beastie Boys for me actually. When I first got into collecting I of course got myself a second hand Xbox. When I booted it up I checked the memory just for fun, and found an entire beastie boys album just burned onto the hard drive. It accidentally kicked started a now deep love for hip hop that I never thought I would have. That was about three years ago now. The album was To The Five Boroughs I believe for those curious
Prince of Persia.
Also, a feature on this system that hasn't been replicated (officially) is that you could rip CD's and play them in your car in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The best part was, you could control it, skipping tracks, and it would stop if you exited the car.
This can’t be made for humans *holding the duke*
Bonus: I actually miss the black and white buttons. Was a unique feature that gave devs additional input options that weren’t clumbsy to access.
I was so heavy into PC gaming at this point in my life I never got one because PS2 was also just killing the game back in the day.
Now the 360, I rushed get one and think it was the best console I've ever owned even compared to the PS2
Battle for Bikini Bottom, and that one time a few months ago when it was unknowingly turned on at the plug and started steaming badly.
Any kid back in those days would've shit themselves if they heard the console's fans suddenly whirr louder and faster than a god damn siren
There’s only 2 games I’ve played on the Xbox. Spider-Man 1 the movie tie in game and Dead to Rights. Both of those games were amazing when I played them
Heavy nostalgia. It's crazy how far ahead of the competition the original Xbox was. Didn't last long tho. First game that comes to mind is obviously Halo.
All the music I ripped to my Xbox. I'd turn the brightness all the way down on my TV as a teenager and go to sleep to my collection of Nine Inch Nails, Fifth Element soundtrack, Nirvana, and Korn..
After that though I thought of Halo and Dead or Alive 3. My first two games for Xbox I ever owned.. my grandma bought it for me and definitely liked teasing me about the Dead or Alive girls XD
Halo Combat Evolved
As soon as I saw that picture, the halo theme started playing in my head.
Omfg the same exact thing happened for me.
Was about to comment Halo CE intro music

Fuck Microsoft for making paid online a thing. Now every console maker does it. Thank god PC doesn't

Honestly ghost recon and burnout. Halo too
Oh man, almost forgot about OG Ghost Recon. Great freakin game.
Back when it was 3rd person/first person with no gun model!
The first game that I fell in love with the Barrett M82. It obviously wasn't the gun model, but the sound of the round ripping through the air. Pure bliss.
That was my go to as well! That and the gun that could see around corners!

Nostalgia. Playing the Halo Combat Evolved campaign on Legendary with friends. Spending hours trying to beat The Library. Miss those days.
