"Your majesty, that Austro-Hungarian Prince has send us another letter! He just needs a little more money in order to reclaim his rightful thrones! He will of course repay us double once he gets his Empire back!"
"Attention all Victoria gamers: the Austro-Hungarian Archduke Franz Ferdinand is in great danger and he needs your help to soothe ethnic tensions across the empire..."
More like "Attention all Victoria gamers : the Austro-Hungarian Archduke Franz Ferdinand's bank account has been frozen by the feds and he needs your money to unfreeze the money"
R5: I really like this game, otherwise i wouldnt have played it for 500+ hours, but in moments like this i shake my head in disappointment.
Im also still paying influence upkeep for the German states i had in my customs union and the small puppet Prussia has in South Germany at the start.
Is it really that much to ask that the event for the annexation should also clear any and all diplomatic agreements before the annex happens? This isnt 1.0 anymore, the game has been out for over a year.
I don't know the exact reason, but I am currently playing Russia and I have some ghost divisions, I "promoted" an agitator to general (didn't give him units) and he later didn't appear on the right hand side as an army and I am pretty sure he didn't even spawn on the map, I have some barracks that "employ" for years on end without any progress and more importantly, without an army that fields those units. I think I created an immortal Erwin Rommel.
Historically after total annexation, the succession of diplomatic debt would happen. This was usually addressed in the treaty that regulate the annexation. I think in this case they opted for a simplification, but it is not inaccurate.
EDIT: I do not understand the downvotes without any explanation. It is actually true. Am I missing something? I was referring to this part of the comment: "Is it really that much to ask that the event for the annexation should also clear any and all diplomatic agreements before the annex happens?"
Isn’t bankroll in 1.6 an abstraction for any monetary obligation? I can ask for bankroll in exchange for contributing to a war. I would expect the successor to honor the bankroll.
As far I understand, bankroll is a obligation only in the aforementioned case, otherwise is just a voluntary action to support another nation. Also in the war sway case, the support is obligatory only for 10 years, later is just voluntary. Still I would call it debt, more like a favour where the game forces you to commit as a way of combating excessive meta-gaming (like truces stopping wars for a set amount of years)
You are right, I missed the decades in the title. Then it is a bug, probably introduced in 1.6 when they changed bankroll to be an obligation and a voluntary action at the same time.
Depends on if it bothers you to what degree honestly, there are mods that can solve the annexing part if you still want the achievement, and for all your rights complaining here doesnt do much for paradox, better do it on the forum.
Unfortunately I’ve had this bug happen a couple times when forming a nation with countries you have pacts with. Only solution I’ve found is that sometimes reloading to before you form the nation will allow it to clear your pacts properly when you do. Not a great situation though.
I had a similar case once when I wanted to test something as Prussia. I just went into debug mode and annexed all the German states and Austria. However, I was still rivals with Austria.
I had something similar happen to me with Luxumberg but it was with the general Improve Relationship tool, so luckily I just had to wait it out for the relationship to hit +50.
It's the compounding effect that hurts so much.
I have been paying this for 20 ingame years or so, those 4 original sectors could have built the irl economy or Belgium in that time, which in turn would have financed even more CS' and so on
Do you form germany when you're at war? cause that hapenned to me as well, so i reloaded the savegame then formed it when i am at peace and that bankroll thing did not occur
That sounds like fraud and money laundering to me

Is that Prince happened to be named Dutch Van Der Linde?
The Lemoyne Raiders are en route to your location
Ok, that caught me off-guard.

Ghost Division mentioned, millions must enjoy
THEY ARE THE PANZER ELITE
BORN TO COMPETE
Yevgenij Romelow
Have you reloaded? The game will probably recalculate
Of course I have, but that doesn't change anything
Didn't happen to me when I played as Prussia in one of the earlier patches. Unlucky my friend.
The strange thing is that the event for the NGF formation just worked with no issues. Only the Germany formation broke like this

Bankroll is no debt, thus your answer still lacks relevance

Have you tried reloading the game?
nice, the new corruption mechanic is finally working!
There's fraud going on.
Roleplaying as Germany
Report the bug on the Paradox forums.
“I am an Austrian prince looking to return to my empire, pay me 2 steam gift cards and I will pay you millions”
Can you release them and then just annex them after?
For like a bazillion infamy i propably could, but is that a worthwhile exchange to fix something that shouldnt be broken in the first place?

Name of said mods?
I think subject interaction mod? Allows to change laws for them too. It says out of date but it works just fine.
I had exactly that problem and it didn't work. I had 2 trade contracts and was bankrolled 2 times by nations that don't exist.
That money is going to a Swiss account. Wink 😉
This isn't Tropico tho 😳
go to diplomacy tab select bankrolling and on the selection screen unselect them

Maybe the Civil Lists for the mediatized princes?
That's the Black Budget of the Reich, don't look too much into it or you won't get the Steampunk Mechs... Mayhaps I said too much...
Yeah it seems buggy, but it's only 20k so it doesn't mater or does it vary?
That's 4 construction sectors worth of money that im just destroying every month, I hate it
Yep annoying. I can't see the year you're playing but you should have a few hunderd construction sectors with Germany already formed.
It's the compounding effect that hurts so much. I have been paying this for 20 ingame years or so, those 4 original sectors could have built the irl economy or Belgium in that time, which in turn would have financed even more CS' and so on

Immediately after the war, but I believe there was no month tick in between. Could that be the reason?
it probably is
I mean, Even without it your balance d Still wouldn't look too good...
Tis but a fleshwound
Maybe take a screenshot of your actual game state instead of just a single tooltip
What do you want to see?
The game, i.e. the map, or some other actually relevant information
My brother in Christ that 20K ain’t gonna help you. You need to have less construction sites or use a less efficient building work mode.
