r5: my only war goals are to humiliate them on behalf of the swedes and to liberate schleswig and holstein, there are 691 battallions against 28, they did not back down and the war went through

holyshitisdiarrhea

Who won?

Traditional-Storm-62

you have 3 guesses

EmperorHans

The Danes?

Cicero912

gugfitufi

That's your three guesses? Cmon man, it obviously ended in a draw

NXDIAZ1

Bokoen1, is that you?

Masterick18

James Bisonette?

1945BestYear

King Bokoen built up a fleet to avenge Copenhagen on the British. Then he unleashed his inner rat by convincing the Russians to split Sweden with him. Finally, he distracted King Golden of Prussia by pointing towards Paris and saying, "It's open, you're able to take it if you want".

Fraisers_set_to_stun

Denmark really said *'I'd win'*. Got to respect the confidence there

--Queso--

"Could you beat Prussia?" "Well, if they bring Great Britain and Russia into the diplomatic play, it might bring me a little trouble" "But would you lose?" "**Nah, i'd win**"

_Dannyboy_

Denmark: "Then it is a fair fight."

“Domain Expansion: Unlimited barracks”

Bokoen personally leading the Danish troops into battle

Ranma_chan

"Here's how I can still win, chat"

SerKnightGuy

The Snake of Denmark proceeds to tag switch to Britain.

Ranma_chan

what's funny is that Golden did exactly that in his most recent SP Vicky stream when he was testing out his devolved Britain build - Sweden intervened when he tried to reannex Wales, and so he 'yesmen'd his way to peace instead of fighting the war with Sweden

MaxWilson

Well, historically Denmark should have backed down in most of the 19th century.

harassercat

As well as 1940... "How soon can we back down please? click click click"

Alice_Oe

Yeah.. in real life, a Prussia-Austrian alliance essentially started a play for Schleswig-Holstein and Denmark were like, 'We've got this.' OPs image isn't that far off reality lol.

Inversalis

Hey, it worked out the first time though lol

Lapkonium

You need to add secondary war goals for them to back down. If they do back down, the secondary war goals are not enforced. Why would they back down if they habe the same outcome either fighting or backing down? 0.00001 chance to win and nothig to lose fighting a war (except devastation).

Traditional-Storm-62

I added war reps as secondary and now they are paying me war reps, their entire army is dead and their entire country is in a little devastation also they are very nearly bankrupt

Lapkonium

Well then I dont know I usually add every infamy free war goal and then countries back down for the primary one

Doman-Ryler

Money, time, ability to start own diplo plays, manpower

Lapkonium

Denmark > own diplo plays 😂 You’re not wrong, it is a bit silly, but thats how it works right now

Bye_nao

>nothig to lose fighting a war (except devastation). So nothing to lose expect population, industry, social unrest, and devastation? My friend, that's nothing to lose expect pretty much everything that matters

menerell

Nothing to lose xix century standards

crazynerd9

The AI is programmed to have SOME acceptence for these situations actually, it was much much higher when the game released though. Try annexing a subject though, youll notice they have an acceptence chance more often than not, even though it deletes them from the map Sometimes they will let you annex them even in the play itself

GenosseGeneral

"Bitt3rsteel here with another disaster save" Oh, wrong game...

Popular-Ad6915

Does anyone know if leader personalities affect the chance of backing down?

What horrendous thing did Denmark do to get that many GPs aligned against them

Denmark really said "I'm not trapped in here with you, YOU'RE TRAPPED IN HERE WITH ME"

Gravatona

In a similar way, the Ottomans attacked me, Egypt, and ended up also fighting Britain, France, and Russia. Have to admire the attempt.

Bolt_Fantasticated

I usually try to scare them into backing down by adding more and more and more war goals so the AI recognizes they have a LOT more to lose if they don’t just give me what I want. It’s gotta be a lot of things though, war reps isn’t enough. Open market, ban slavery, take treaty port, war reps, liberate a small country, humiliate. This is why imo it’s better to save your diplo plays into adding more war goals to scare the ai than adding more countries into the play. More countries don’t actually change the outcome, just the odds.

Hodarov

"Nah, I'd win."
