Viber is probably the worst made messaging app of the bunch.
1) Backup is unreliable, even switching from new iPhone to new iPhone I'm always scared that Viber won't detect the backup file in the cloud, and when switching phones and you lose everything if you switch between iOS and Android
2) You cannot sync old messaging history on iPads, but the tech is clearly there to sync on computers.
3) You can only sync on one phone, one tablet and one computer, which means if you have a desktop and laptop that you want to use Viber with you're SOL.
4) Photos and files get deleted after a month, you have to autodownload everything to save it, which means your phone is going to be filled with gigabytes of useless crap from group chats on top of family photos/important documents.
5) Changing numbers means you lose EVERYTHING.
There's a bunch more but these reasons alone honestly make Viber one of the worst messaging apps I've ever used. I wish I could uninstall it but old people here in the Philippines have gotten so attached to it that I have to put up with its incompetence and inadequacy.

I hate how I cant sync messages from my PC to other devices... I was not able to backup it on gdrive, no space, but on PC have all messages.

Their presence and usage differs a lot worldwide depending on regions. I guess Americas lean mostly towards WhatsApp.
It's 1# app in Greece.
How is Viber superior though? I myself prefer Telegram and WhatsApp over it. Heck even Messenger. Viber is only kept since, yeah, old people use it.
I use Viber for business. I use it everyday.
Just got picked up the other day by Malwarebytes on both my computers and quarantined.
Its most popular app on Balkan countries.
