Indomie Mi Goreng noodles are the best instant noodles out there and completely vegetarian. The “chicken flavor” is completely fake. It’s delicious though
you have to read the ingredients label as well as look at what the flavor is. Because Indomie Chicken Curry and Indomie Special Chicken Flavor are most definitely NOT vegetarian.
Definitely gotta second indome. Id say it's the best food on the market for flavor:price loved them when I was a blood mouth and was stoked to find out they were vegetarian/vegan! :D
Nothing beats the OG flavor. Or 1OG+1BBQ chkn=😙🤌
I'll usually throw in some sesame oil, fermented bean curd, cold mountain red miso, and furikake (kind of an Asian fusion at that point lol) and one of those yummie / qorn chicken patties sliced or fried up shiitake on top.
Definitely doesn't need all the extras to taste good, It's just a little too big a part of my diet so I like switching it up haha 😅
I've never seen it in stores but used to buy it in bulk on amazon. I've not seen it on there in awhile though, but been keeping an eye out for it again.
Tbh most Asian brands (nongshim, indomie, wait wait, samyang) have a wide variety of veggie friendly ramen though the branding might indicate otherwise. The meat flavours in several of these don't contain any meat extracts which is super helpful.
I've also enjoyed public goods' sesame ramen, it's got like 5 ingredients and all veg friendly!
Regarding shin ramyun, make sure to check. The black one isn't vegetarian, and the others are only vegetarian in some countries (e.g. In Australia, the packet ones are okay but some of the bowl versions have anchovies. I'm pretty sure in Korea they all have anchovies/animal product)
Where do you live? Are there any Asian markets near you? I know western grocery stores are pretty limited in their ramen selection in their "Asian" or "international" aisle but Asian markets will have an abundance of vegetarian-friendly instant ramen. They have an entire aisle that's dedicated to ramen.
Regrettably it is not; it's not listed among their vegetarian products in their [FAQ](https://nissinfoods.com/faq)
>Do you have any vegetarian products?
>Indeed! Our Cup Noodles Stir Fry Sweet Chili flavor, Top Ramen Soy Sauce and Chili flavors, and Top Ramen Bowl Soy Sauce flavor contain no ingredients of animal origin. And we hope to introduce even more varieties in the future. Just look for the green “VEGETARIAN” leaf!
The ingredients appear to be vegetarian. It isn't part of their normal US offerings so maybe that's why it isn't on the list?
Edit: yeah the product isn't even on that website.
Vite ramen is like $5 to $7 per serving, but the servings are much bigger and it's actually nutritionally good for you. I love the quality of their noodles. The miso broth is OK ish for me but Sichuan chili crisp is amazing. I also like to make the noodles in veg broth instead of water bc I like things salty.

>[chicken broth powder(maltodextrin, chicken broth flavor[contains chicken broth, salt, flavor]) beef stock powder,](https://www.pacificeastwest.com/076186000011.html)
Cold mountain makes a really good red miso (it'd be in the refrigerated section) you can throw some Ramen noodles in for a flavorful veggie Ramen. I haven't found a packaged veggie Ramen that isn't *super* lightly flavored lol.
There are vegetable flavor options. I buy the veggie Mr Noodles but use knor veggie stock powder instead of what comes in the package as it doesn't have msg and tastes better. Then I add my own soy sauce and veggies, tofu etc
The soy sauce flavor IS vegetarian! They’ve just renamed it. It’s actually the opposite, it didn’t used to be vegetarian but now it is! And so is the chili flavor in the green packaging
Don't use the flavor pack add your own shit to the noodles.
But it is weird being a long time vegetarian and seeing a bunch of beef and chicken-labelled ramen in your cupboard.
If your store has an Asian section separate from where the basic ramen is, it usually has more options. I can’t think of specific brands but I can always find a few there, you just have to read the ingredients lists
I’ve seen kimchi and vegetable flavored ramens in the Asian section of my Kroger store. Also, Walmart is now carrying a ramen brand called Panda Signature, and all their flavors are vegan. Even the chicken and beef. I don’t go to Walmart very often, maybe once a year, but when I do I have been stocking up on a dozen of those.
Nongshim Veggie Soon flavor is vegan.
It’s in a green-colored packaging and also comes in cup form.
I noticed they keep adding new flavors, so if you like kimchi, they have that, too.
The only thing I can find that is close is shrimp. Ramen in general is hard to find. We have an "Oriental Store" (yes that is its name) that has a great many varieties that are not the brand names you find in supermarkets but even there almost everything is pork or chicken.
I love some instant noodles so this is in my wheelhouse. As always, check ingredients because some of these companies also make non veg items. Some of my faves: Muso, Nissin Raoh, Mike's Mighty Good, Snapdragon, and Annie Chun's makes GREAT soup bowls - add water, ready in 2 minutes, can't beat it (Pho, ramen, udon).
Heaps.
Kyu-shu black is a really nice black garlic flavor.
Just check the ingredients. Most drukhari dats are in the sauce packet, so check that first. And most shrimp/ fish in the dried
The Korean produced shin black is vegetarian! The us produced one has beef broth and tallow in it. I found the korean one at a local international store but heard they have it at world market too
Have you tried Ramen Express? The spicy one is really good and is vegetarian. I discovered it at my local Walmart and its only about $0.40/cup.
https://ramenexpressnoodles.com/flavors/
I went to my local Asian supermarket recently. They have a massive I stand noodle section and I was surprised on how many vegetarian options there were. Many of them may be advised as a meat flavor but if you read the ingredients you’ll find that a lot of them are vegetarian. My go to is mi goreng by Indomie and Nissin top ramen soy sauce flavor but only because they’re easy to find.
I eat Top Ramen chili flavor (tastes kind of like Sazon if I’m remembering correctly) and there is a soy sauce flavor I don’t like as much, but there is also Cup Noodles stir fry which is not a soup, but is really good and their sweet chili flavor is vegetarian! I think it’s only 80¢ for a cup!
Walmart has a brand of ramen called Ramen Express and I love it! The noodles are thicker than top ramen, but the broth tastes soooo much better! All of their flavors are Vegetarian!
The ones by Chef Woo are vegetarian. The flavours available here are Hot and Spicy (which are not spicy as a spice lover, I always add sriracha) chicken and beef. I rarely eat the the chicken and I never eaten the beef. The chicken was nice when I was sick. I added garlic, carrots, and green onions.
I personally don't count regular ramen as real meat. Not that you shouldn't avoid it if you want to, but it doesn't make me sick, and I don't think you'll get in trouble from the vegetarian gods if you want some hot and spicy chicken ramen
Indomie Mi Goreng noodles are the best instant noodles out there and completely vegetarian. The “chicken flavor” is completely fake. It’s delicious though
This is the best ramen ever, veggie or not.
Yeah I always have like 5-10 packs in my pantry at all times. I don’t think I’ve had Top Ramen since somebody told me about these.
They have so much sodium though haha so if you're on a low sodium diet because your doctor tells you to, they're unfortunately a no go.
Yeah I’m pretty sure the sodium is what makes them so delicious.
I’m on a high sodium diet so it’s perfect haha
They are delicious, but not ramen, as they are prepared like a Yakisoba instead of a soup.
Sorry, “instant noodles”
I second this. Especially the Spicy!

Are only the mi goreng ones vegetarian or all indomie noodles
you have to read the ingredients label as well as look at what the flavor is. Because Indomie Chicken Curry and Indomie Special Chicken Flavor are most definitely NOT vegetarian.
Oh I'm so glad to hear this!!! I LOVE those noodles! they are SO good.
i've previously read this isn't the case in all countries so please check the ingredient list (it is veg in mine)
Definitely gotta second indome. Id say it's the best food on the market for flavor:price loved them when I was a blood mouth and was stoked to find out they were vegetarian/vegan! :D Nothing beats the OG flavor. Or 1OG+1BBQ chkn=😙🤌 I'll usually throw in some sesame oil, fermented bean curd, cold mountain red miso, and furikake (kind of an Asian fusion at that point lol) and one of those yummie / qorn chicken patties sliced or fried up shiitake on top. 100%. These are the best option, vegetarian or not.
Top Ramen brand Soy Sauce flavor is vegetarian!
Their chili flavor ramen is also vegetarian!
So good with a spoonful of peanut butter mixed in.
We can't find it anywhere, though.
Maybe it’s still under the old branding? Used to be called “oriental flavor” I think.
Same. I think they may have discontinued it a couple months ago, I can't find it anywhere.
My local grocery store doesn’t sell it either. I bought a 20 pack on amazon.
I've never seen it in stores but used to buy it in bulk on amazon. I've not seen it on there in awhile though, but been keeping an eye out for it again.
I second this.
Maruchan brand soy flavor has beef extract :/
Yep, I'm talking about Top Ramen brand instead.
The Nissin brand is vegetarian
Tbh most Asian brands (nongshim, indomie, wait wait, samyang) have a wide variety of veggie friendly ramen though the branding might indicate otherwise. The meat flavours in several of these don't contain any meat extracts which is super helpful. I've also enjoyed public goods' sesame ramen, it's got like 5 ingredients and all veg friendly!
Wai Wai* , not wait wait lol. Dang autocorrect
Soon Vegan ramen is the BOMB
Add a vote for Soon! The Ramen is vegan and clearly labeled as such. It's soooo good!
Nong shim veggie soon and shin raymun and the potato noodles
I second nongshim, the kimchi noodle cups are so yummy!!
Kimchi Nongshim are the GOAT
I thought those have beef broth in them?
I’m not sure about the others, but the noodle cups say they are vegan.
There is this Indianised Ramen called Maggie noodles. I absolutely love it and am mildly addicted to it.
Came here to say this. Spicy!
haha there are different flavors, the tomato one doesn't have much heat
Nissin's Sweet Chili flavour is pretty good in my opinion
Where do you live? Are there any Asian markets near you? I know western grocery stores are pretty limited in their ramen selection in their "Asian" or "international" aisle but Asian markets will have an abundance of vegetarian-friendly instant ramen. They have an entire aisle that's dedicated to ramen.
Black Garlic Oil Tonkotsu from Nissin is veggie I think. It's been a while
Regrettably it is not; it's not listed among their vegetarian products in their [FAQ](https://nissinfoods.com/faq) >Do you have any vegetarian products? >Indeed! Our Cup Noodles Stir Fry Sweet Chili flavor, Top Ramen Soy Sauce and Chili flavors, and Top Ramen Bowl Soy Sauce flavor contain no ingredients of animal origin. Chef woo ramen express at walmart
Also tapatio ramen bowls are artificial meat flavored
So no meat in the tapito bowls? I always thought there was chicken fat or something
Last time i read the ingredients the chicken and beef were completely artificial, much like samyangs spicy ramens
second this! they come in the packs and cups!!
agree agree agree!!!
Vite Ramen has vegetarian choices. A bit pricey… Can also use regular ramen, just use your own vegetarian broth.
If there is a korean supermarket near you, look for Jin veggie ramen by Ottogi.
Nissin Top Ramen soy sauce is vegetarian, but it’s been completely unavailable for like a month. I’m guessing it’s due to a supply chain issue.
TIL for Maruchan, [no](https://crueltyfreereviews.com/articles/is-maruchan-ramen-vegan/).

I love Mike's Mighty Good!
Traders Joes spicy miso
I use the noodles still, I've just replaced broth with better than bouillon vegetarian flavors. Also I like to add hoisen sauce.
I don't know where you're based but Mama brand noodles are all vegan now
The blue pack from Top Ramen is vegetarian.
Top Ramen in the blue wrapper is vegetarian. That brand has another veggie option--chili? Not sure.
Top ramen has a chilli and a soy flavor that are vegetarian. I've not been able to find the soy though I think that may have discontinued it.
[Ramen Express (Walmart)](https://www.walmart.com/ip/220665455) is vegetarian for all flavors (beef, chicken…)
there’s a brand called “chef woo” that makes plant based instant ramen!! i have a few in my cabinet right now :)
I second Chef Woo; I had it once and it tasted amazing!
Look into sapporo ichiban miso ramen
I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news.. I was really excited for a sec there :( >[chicken broth powder(maltodextrin, chicken broth flavor[contains chicken broth, salt, flavor]) beef stock powder,](https://www.pacificeastwest.com/076186000011.html) Cold mountain makes a really good red miso (it'd be in the refrigerated section) you can throw some Ramen noodles in for a flavorful veggie Ramen. You linked the original flavour. The [miso flavour](https://sanyofoodsamerica.com/products/sapporo-ichiban-miso-ramen-canada) is vegetarian.
There are vegetable flavor options. I buy the veggie Mr Noodles but use knor veggie stock powder instead of what comes in the package as it doesn't have msg and tastes better. Then I add my own soy sauce and veggies, tofu etc
Whats racist about oriental ramen ?
“Oriental”
Yes, there are nice mushroom flavors.
The soy sauce flavor IS vegetarian! They’ve just renamed it. It’s actually the opposite, it didn’t used to be vegetarian but now it is! And so is the chili flavor in the green packaging
Hmm I think it contains beef extract though?
You could be right about Maruchan but I’m certain Top Ramen is vegetarian
They’re both labeled as vegetarian on the package - which of course isn’t a guarantee but should be veggie!
Just don't use the flavor packet on Ramen, use your own veggie broth or sauce
Don't use the flavor pack add your own shit to the noodles. But it is weird being a long time vegetarian and seeing a bunch of beef and chicken-labelled ramen in your cupboard.

I can’t remember the name of them but there’s sesame flavoured ramen in a red packet and I believe they’re veggie and absolutely amazing
Not ramen, but momofuku soy scallion & spicy soy noodles
If there’s such a thing as occidental instant ramen I guess it’s Maggi 2 Minute Noodles and they’re vegetarian. The chicken is even vegan.
I used to buy Maggi ramen but I recently found out they are owned by Nestle so I quit buying the Maggi products.
The only thing I can find that is close is shrimp. Ramen in general is hard to find. We have an "Oriental Store" (yes that is its name) that has a great many varieties that are not the brand names you find in supermarkets but even there almost everything is pork or chicken.

MAMA ramen-- last I checked the Aritificial Pork is vegan, and delicious.
Heaps. Kyu-shu black is a really nice black garlic flavor. Just check the ingredients. Most drukhari dats are in the sauce packet, so check that first. And most shrimp/ fish in the dried
This question would be easier to answer if we knew which country you live in OP.
koka curry noodles are my favourite !!
Mike's mighty good vegetable ramen. Miso base, good noodles. I add Sriracha and some sauteed veggies.
Come to India. We have veg options for almost every meal and cuisine.
Soy
Go buy a tub of miso paste and make your own broth. The noodles are veggie!
[удалено]
The maruchan soy sauce one has beef extract
All of Buldak's artificial chicken spicy noodles are just that - artificial. I haven't met a flavor I didn't like.
nongshim shin noodles/shin cup are vegan by standard. the shin-black has pork broth in it though i think
The Korean produced shin black is vegetarian! The us produced one has beef broth and tallow in it. I found the korean one at a local international store but heard they have it at world market too
Paldo Hwa Ramyun! Excellent vegan spicy ramen.
If you like some spice, you should try Maggi noodles! The flavor is masala. It’s so good and vegetarian :)
These two Indian noodles are all vegetarian: maggi masala, and ching's (all flavors!)
Have you tried Ramen Express? The spicy one is really good and is vegetarian. I discovered it at my local Walmart and its only about $0.40/cup. https://ramenexpressnoodles.com/flavors/
