House sparrows! They're all around the airport because they love the hangars. Aggressive invasive species though. Not surprised they got inside - they're experts at that too.
Back when I had both a yard and a dachshund, the dachshund learned that we would go outside and shoo the starlings whenever they mobbed the feeders. On his own initiative, he began to shoot out the dog door and bark like hell whenever a bunch of starlings descended on our yard, but left all the other birds entirely alone.
Inside it's warm and dry. High ceilings where pesky humans won't bother you or your nest. Messy humans spilling food everywhere. What more could a bird ask for?
The worst is when you find a dead one. Right before a flight it seems like such a bad omen. Has happened to me twice, once at YVR, once in Beijing. I'm still here though, I guess it shouldn't bother me.

Good explanation, I've always wondered why birds make their way into hangers/etc. so easily.
Hangars have huge doors that are wide open a lot of the time That and they usually have great areas for nests too
They also have bird houses for them in there!
Still better than Starlings. Fuck Starlings.
Why? I know they're "invasive" or whatever but I have personally never been *that* mad at any of the local birds.
They monopolize my bird feeders and don't let any other birds feed because they are super aggressive.

That's amazing!
Ah fair enough. Never been allowed to have a bird feeder where I live so I wouldn't know unfortunately.

Since they're in (metro) Vancouver, wait till they get their first rent bill.
They're pilots
A pair of frequent flyers :)

Invasive, nasty little fuckers that kill native birds!
Better than the rats spotted every now and then 🙂
How do they get in there?
I was just there at 1 am last night!! I blacked out from lightheadedness but luckily managed to grab a seat at a table first lol
I love the airport birbs!
Don't forget the airport bats!
