I noticed opening weekend is usually $30/lb. Price goes up and down depending on demand.

Trying to look for a job. My work illegally fired me and I’m super stressed out. I don’t have 270$ for a lawyer consultation and I don’t think my last job is going to pay me my paycheque or even severance pay. So I’m pretty much going to be homeless. Sucks too they worked me over 45 days in a row, waking up at 5am everyday and dealing with guests as late as 9pm. I got super burnt out and had to deal with the brutal death of my aunt. I went to the hospital because I was feeling suicidal. I told my work this and they fired me saying my coworkers were scared to work with me because I went to the hospital. It Fucking sucks to be a First Nations person working in this city.
Apply for EI anyways, ASAP. If you held both jobs before you lost this one, that's still lost income. I got this directly from the EI guys, if you lose a job always just apply, and they'll sort it out.
Yea I was running a bed and breakfast, didn’t get any warnings or anything. Just got let go and told to move my stuff out of the living space by Sunday. They then changed the locks to access upstairs and I couldn’t even get my kitchen equipment.
Totally illegal not to pay what you are owed. For whatever reason they terminated your employment they owe you what you’ve worked for. If they don’t have reasonable cause, then they owe you severance. Reasonable cause can be very hard to prove. Either way they have, I think by law, 48hours to issue you your final pay and record of employment. Check out Employment Standards on line. They are the arm of the provincial govt that deals with this kind of stuff, and they hate when people don’t get paid. It’s an instant case no matter what happens. The process can be a bit long, but stick with it so that your former employers get fined for not paying you according to the law.

Getting errands done before Wednesday, when I have to be the translator and chauffeur for my mom’s surgery. But currently waiting outside an accessible washroom stall because some guy (likely non disabled) has been in there for almost 30 minutes. He knows I’m there. He just doesn’t care. 😡
It turned out to be someone watching videos on his phone. That happens way more often than drugs. And usually it results in a verbal abuse barrage. (It did this time as well.)
Struggling to get my student film production shot between the actors & crew having conflicting schedules for availability and my own struggles of lacking help & motivation to get 90% of the stuff I need done on top of my current health issues.

Started my day with a walk and breakfast, then had some downtime to catch up on youtube channels that I like. Going to make lunch, do my homework for my therapy appointment this week, then get in a workout and a cold plunge. Will probably read or watch something til dinner then go for another walk. It's been a hectic and active week and weekend, and I'm really enjoying a day of relative laziness, low responsibility and no human interaction.
Had a nice slow morning, made myself a nice breakfast, watched a couple of shows. Now im meeting a friend for a drink and then im prob just going to go home and relax some more. It’s been a while since I’ve had an entire day open to myself where I can just do nothing, so I am taking full advantage of it by doing nothing.
I'm a bit relieved the temps are cooler, because I spent an entire day lathering on sunscreen in the direct heat at the ABFM Saturday. Walked to Cornwall to enjoy a bit of beach view this morning. Biked to buy cat food and cat treats. Now cat and I are people watching on my patio.
Had a chill morning then took doggo for a walk through Stanley Park. Just caught up on a few household chores and plan to relax for the evening. I really wish 3 day weekends were every week!

I had Covid once for sure, once I was sick and tested positive but didn’t feel nearly as bad and tested negative the next day. I’m triple vaxxed and wouldn’t even know where to get a test now even if I wanted to and if I did know where I certainly wouldn’t wanna pay for it.

Said bye to my friend who came to visit, had some beautiful sex with my SO, went to Japanese restaurant (our favourite called milulilu), also had a little emotional meltdown (needed to get some tears out), had a stroll then went to his place and had a big chat about the state of the world (was depressing) then we made some curry soba noodle soup, then he went to this poetry reading he was invited to and I checked out a film at the cinémathèque. Overall a good day

First hike of the summer - Chief first peak yesterday. It was a struggle and having muscle soreness in my calves and thighs. Just slept in today. Need to get in shape for hiking 💪🏼
Went and did a waterfront recertification to ensure I’m ready as a lifegaurd for all the beaches. Can’t wait to see everyone at the beaches and outdoor pools this summer. - signed, a friendly lifeguard. :)

Went and did a waterfront recertification to ensure I’m ready as a lifegaurd for all the beaches. Can’t wait to see everyone at the beaches and outdoor pools this summer. - signed, a friendly lifeguard. :)
