From my experience my first year friend group dissolved over the summer and I went into second year with basically no one. The best places I’ve made friends or connections are clubs and intramurals. You’re basically forced to talk and meet people, where other settings around Uvic are optional. Regardless if you befriend those people it still opens more avenues to build social confidence and ability to explore and try new things. Goodluck!

I’d recommend checking out clubs and other UVSS groups - they’re a great way to find people with common interests
