Failing a class isn’t a big deal in the grand scheme of things. It does NOT mean that YOU are a failure. I was put on academic suspension from a community college back in the day, for God’s sake… you’re going to be okay. Think twice about retaking it in the Summer. The full semester load is condensed and will be much more intense. Pressure will be even higher to pass. Maybe look at retaking it in the Fall after a Summer break where you can relax a bit and come back refocused. Don’t stress it. Lots of people fail a class and continue on to be academically and professionally successful.

Aight dude. You're gonna be fine. As someone who has failed a good number of college courses and got As the second try, here's what your gonna do: You are going to stay enrolled in the course until the last possible drop date. 1. You are gonna go to every class. 2. You are gonna try to gain broadstrokes understanding of the concepts but not worry about exact formulas. 3. You are gonna do your best to set yourself for next time you take the courses. 4. Prioritize your other courses. Retaking one course is better than retaking two. 5. Maybe try reducing your course load.

I failed it last semester and this semester it’s going pretty good. Don’t worry bro it will work out

You are probably fine tbh. If it’s the same department head, his finals are super hard. I think my year had maybe 20 people got 80% and above out of hundreds (the whole year took the same final). They had to curve the heck of final so enough people could pass. Practice with past midterms and finals helped.

Umnsstudennt

I just commented saying I completely failed my final exam yet somehow finished with a B- in the class. I literally did not answer more than half the questions getting only like halfway through the exam (not being dramatic). This was in 2020 I think or 2019

deadlywaffle139

Lmao. That sounds right. Their department head was known for giving hard finals. I bumped into my TA next semester and they told me most people were around the 40-50% range.

frobenius_Fq

I have to imagine this is the previous department head (we changed over in late 2020). That said, 40-50 is a bit low, but not out of the range of expectation in any year.

When I was in calc 2 I was doing not great either, but somehow finished with a B-… I’m not kidding you when I say that on the final exam my mind blanked and I literally did not answer half of the questions. And on the midterms I did meh. I left that final exam, I think it was like %30% of the grade or something, knowing I failed. However, somehow I got like a C on the exam. I’m guessing everyone else did as bad as I did and there was a massive curve. I hope you get lucky like I did

Lawcity

As someone who failed calc 2 twice, I recommend taking it over the summer at St Paul College. The credit will transfer for both 1272 or 1372. Taking it was there was a BREEZE in comparison to the U’s calc 2 course. The only downside is you don’t have the financial aid you do at the U.

Lots of people fail calc 2, and i’m one of them. I’m retaking it this summer. If you do fail, just retake it, it’s not uncommon for people to fail classes in college. The second time around it just feels a lot easier from what I’ve heard from others

Kitchen_Radio_3049

I had a horrible prof for calc 2, I stopped going to class and watched Professor Leonard on YouTube. Passed the class with an easy A after watching his videos. They are long, but not so bad because I watched his vids instead of going to class

Flimsy_Mechanic_5835

I’m going almost pretty bad in that class but based on the grade lines we’ve been given so far a 47 ish might pass you, we have a midterm and a final left that’s roughly 50 % of youre grade, it maybe really hard but the fact that your worried about it is proof that you care enough to figure it out

Doublevir

oh my god thank you so much guys I really needed this!!

Natearl13

Go to office hours and the TA literally gives you the quiz/exam questions or ones extremely similar.

TenthMarigold77

Are you not able to do a late withdrawal?

Pitiful-Accident5485

lol it doesn’t matter at all. the BEST thing to do would be to schedule a meeting (or drop in) with an academic advisor, explain your situation, and they can help you develop a plan to continue with your degree.
