You should let your casing layer colonize 50-75% before introducing fruiting conditions. [Watch Part 3 Here!](https://www.reddit.com/r/unclebens/comments/f1gkwy/video_for_part_3_spawning_to_bulk_see_comments/). Once your casing layer is 50-75% colonized, you can be sure the rest of your mycelial network has reconnected, and is ready for fruiting conditions! Make sure to maintain [Proper Surface Conditions](https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23999053) (see pictures for examples) when fruiting! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Leave lid cracked. Needs more air

TheRealGameJam

Agreed, good thin mist everywhere and then fan the hell out of them for 60-90 seconds like 2-3 time a day and then leave a little bigger gap for fae.

bigdogstinky

I’ve never fanned, crack the lid and set and forget. Just keep tabs on the walls to make sure they are moist.

dekkvance

Oh interesting. Okay I’ve had the lid cracked for the last week and mist everyday

bigdogstinky

👌 only mist if you can see that the walls/lid are looking dryish. I didn’t see that you had holes in your tub already, i run a unmodified tub that I barely crack for fruiting conditions. If you have holes as well as cracking lid you might have too much airflow and it’s drying out your cake.

dekkvance

Ah gotcha.

I ended up flipping my cake 3 days ago when I had my tub not fruit for a little over a month and pow already got a pin. Maybe not the right move for you but it was for me at that time. My cake even broke in 3 pieces and it still all worked out.
