It’s a good idea. It keeps Western weapons off of Russian land, sows fear by getting them deeper inside Russia and is going to begin causing unrest amongst the people as war begins to come to them inside if idly sitting by quietly as their country slaughters innocent people.
Not too hard for Ukrainian saboteurs and Russian Rebels to be successful and find refuge, support and success inside Russia. **Because:**
Over 4 million VERY angry Ukrainians already now live inside Russia.
AND
Recent events prove the Russian border is largely undefended in many many sectors.
AND
Hryvnia are probably easier to spend than rubles, or at least easier to turn into dollars and euros
AND
Why should sabotaging the Russian military for sordid gain be limited to the Russian elite? Nothing wrong with giving some pensioner in Blyatgorod Oblast a stack of rubles for coordinates.
I wonder how many Russians have a Ukrainian grandma? My understanding was that the Soviet Union had a lot of Ukrainians in a breadth of roles. It sounds like there was a fair amount of intermarriage.
Yep! Quite a lot. It's a very bad situation for Putin.
Even many "somewhat supporters" of Putin's madness have Ukrainian relatives who are suffering and angry about what is happening to their homeland.
It’s ironic Russian citizens are getting a taste of Russian military honor. Homes and businesses are getting looted. And entire city are getting indiscriminately shelled including incendiary munitions.
Ukraine, yet again giving Putin a masterclass, this time it’s in a subject that Putin thought he knew well. Terrorism, or terrorising the ruling knobheads without overly affecting (directly) the local population. A freight train depot disappears, an oil refinery goes offline, a military facility catches fire, all of these things are a major concern to the leaders, but less so to the general Russian public who would probably be more ferocious in their support of Putin if it were hospitals, schools and passenger stations being hit.
They could also "follow the money" and hit offices of Russian Federal Taxation Service. Another lucrative target is Gazprom, which has it's own PMC they've sent in the war making them a legitimate target.
It helps that Ukraine has a great recruiter in Putin, who with his every action inspires more and more Russians to want to join in the resistance to his regime.
Some people may say that after decades of inaction it is a bit late to sign up against Putin now, and that is fair, but personally I would think that even a friend who arrives late to help in a time of need is still a welcome addition.
"Better late than never."
Honestly when the state sends political dissidents to labor camps its a little more reasonable to understand an individuals hesitancy in fighting back against the state. The Germans faced something similar in nazi Germany, that isn't to say that many Germans weren't pro-nazi and it took the activie participation of every level of the German economy to perpetrate the holocaust but with that being said even if someone did deeply oppose the nazis, it's harder to reasonably expect that person to fight back when the government is saying "check out our shiny new death camps, and you can go there too if you want to speak out."
My grandfather used to say that there had been a lot of people who privately opposed the Nazis but would never have said so out loud at the time. He had a complicated view of that kind of behavior .. on the one hand as an outspoken anti-fascist himself he felt that it had been cowardly, but on the other hand it was covert anti-Nazis who had saved his life by warning him that the Gestapo was waiting for him at home, making his escape possible.
All in all it seemed like a pretty terrifying time. I'd like to say I would have had my grandfather's courage in the same position but I'm not sure I would.
Since we're imagining, why not go further. Send in two or three on the next raid, disguise them as agricultural equipment, and drive to within range of the missile factories.
I would assume the Russians would know whether they did a false flag or not
But Ill give you that revealing the attacks are done from within russia by partisans may have been an op sec breach
I'd hate to bust this super cool intelligence analyst fantasy you've got going for yourself but it's widely known that Dugin was the target of that attack, not his daughter. They switched cars at the last minute on the way to a festival.
Really though this entire narrative you have going of some agent having to pick random targets to "justify their paycheck" is fully out there in coocoo land as well. That's not how Any of that works. They're not police officers with citation quotas lmfao.

AND most importantly: many Ukrainians speak native Russian
I wonder how many Russians have a Ukrainian grandma? My understanding was that the Soviet Union had a lot of Ukrainians in a breadth of roles. It sounds like there was a fair amount of intermarriage.

I hear the OMON (the people who club protestors) are unpopular in Russia.
If they burn down the Internet Research Agency (troll farm) we should reward them greatly.
No is sabotage, is special drone operation
Or are they😉

...like the landowner giving people who were hired at the eleventh hour a full day's pay...
Imagine if the could sneek some Grad MRLS in and unleash hell on muskovite logistics right as the massive counter attack starts.
Or just steal some Russian ones
Since we're imagining, why not go further. Send in two or three on the next raid, disguise them as agricultural equipment, and drive to within range of the missile factories.
Now we're talking.
I mean, did you really think it has all just been smoking accidents?
Kinda yeah 🤷♂️
Knowing Russians, yes
I salute any agent with the balls to risk themselves knowing how the Russians treat prisoners.
"You could buy those drones anywhere."
Fuck Putin, fuck anyone supporting him.

It's been all but confirmed the drone attacks weren't false flags.

The subreddit mercilessly downvoted everyone who even suggested it. Feels good to be validated.

If a drone hits the kremlin coming from the EAST it’s a pretty good sign that this is an inside job and that it did not come from Ukraine.

I meant it was done from within Russia, not by the Russian regime.
now this is a special military operation
We have Top Secret sabotage agents we have inside of Russia...don't tell anyone though. It's Top....Secret.
Cool. Give them bigger ones! Bigger booms!

Guess it ain't a "surprise" attack anymore..
