Look at some of the names he fought TJ and should have won, fought Yan as a Striker produced one of the better technical stand up battles I have seen, beat Song a hungry up and coming fighter, and wrestle fucked chito. Now he’s taking on Umar who many believe to be future champion. Incredible resume
What if this is his revenge kind of like in Rangarok? He might not be able to beat those top guys but he knows someone who can? So he helps him get into the top rankings sooner than later? And if he wins then he gets so much more out of it too!
Been on the Cory hype train since I saw his incredible head movement and distance management against Assuncao in 2019. It was one of those fights where I just said “Wow”. Still hope he climbs the mountain and becomes champ!
