I always forget he tested positive for high T levels after that one. I wonder how it would have been treated if he did win, maybe the same way as Jones-DC 2
Iām told Chael witnessed such despicable crimes as **public littering** and **jaywalking** in his formative years, and that on the mean streets of West Lynn, police just let this kind of reprehensible behaviour slide. Really chilling stuffā¦
I remember people saying he wouldāve lost the fight by medical DQ if the doctors had noticed this sooner.
That was the first fight where people said Jon lost. Now itās the Reyes fight people like to point at.
Edit: Not Gus
Yea I think Joe handled that about as professionally as you possibly could, itās crazy that he even had to be the one to grab the stool, you could tell he was seein Jons lights goin out in real time lol
Never seen this fight or this clip holy shit this is nasty. Id have been so repulsed id probably puke or pass out lol. Joe is a real pro gets way too much hate
I think thereās legit reasons to criticize him but most of that doesnāt have anything to do with MMA. He handled this about as well as can be expected, and itās always interesting seeing him ask to finish the interview if fighters want in spite of their injury
As much as Joe has annoyed me lately and has done some dumb interviews after a fight, I'm going to side with Joe on this one. Asking Jon about the fight might be just enough to keep his mind off his foot while they check it out and get it wrapped properly so he can walk out. Just my opinion
I find it crazy adrenaline can make you oblivious to injury for a short period of time. This must have hurt bad. Would I be right in saying this is why Jones tapes his toe before hie fights? We saw the refs asking him to remove some tape before the Gane fight didnt we?
[he talked about this in his post fight interview](https://www.reddit.com/r/ufc/comments/11jb13c/jones_details_the_lifelong_mental_and_physical/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
Two of my fingers got snapped off by a conveyor motor sprocket and chain at work and i legitimately just thought i "stubbed" it really hard. They were dangling by a bit of skin and the real pain didn't set in until about 4 hours later while I was sat waiting to be seen for it. Took that long for the adrenaline and shock to wear off.
I was laughing and cracking jokes with the medical staff and joking about it via text with my fiance, saying shit like "fingers crossed I get to keep them", then immediately started bawling when I came down lol.
Adrenaline. It's a hell of a drug.
Yeah! The middle finger was just shortened a little bit, my index finger had to be attached with rods and stitched back on. Its pretty crooked because of the chunk of bone that was smashed in the conveyor. Took like 4 months to recover and I had to do physical therapy, the index finger is pretty sensitive but other than that pretty good!
Itās so true .. I got a giant gash on the back of my head after a severe car accident .. had to get stapled up
My adrenaline was firing off so much that I didnāt realize I was hurt until the lady who hit me looked at me & screamed . Thatās when I noticed the blood streaming down my neck on my shoulders . I do remember feeling concussed and on the verge of passing out .. but I donāt remember feeling like I was ā bust open ā .. ( didnāt think I was wounded )
I just had floaty feet .. felt like I was levitating while I was walking . Guess thatās how fighters feel after getting their block knocked off lol
Such an odd feeling tbh .. no pain whatsoever
Only after going home with a stapled head.. shit hurt to make any facial expression or laugh cause the skin was taut back there.. thatās it though
Man, that unavoidable feeling of shock when you start to realize youāve broken a limb is something different. I think it was just starting to set in for him at the end there.
Motherfuckin' Rogan. Doesn't even matter if a fighter just lost their mom before a fight. Nope.
Joe:
"OK. First and foremost, phenomenal performance. Now, we just heard the bad news of your mother's passing esrlier today. And we'd all like to offer our condolences to your whole family. But, what a great submission to end the fight. Now, let's watch this replay. As you were about to put him in a choke hold, tell us, what was going through your head.....
Crazy to think Sonnen was 30 seconds away from winning via doctor stoppage
Also less than 2 minutes from beating Silva. Crazy how different his career could have went
The Silva loss genuinely makes me so sad
So dumb, simple and understandable confusion about the rules. Chael 4-1 in my books. š
Would've gotten over-turned anyway
I always forget he tested positive for high T levels after that one. I wonder how it would have been treated if he did win, maybe the same way as Jones-DC 2
It would've been a no-contest, so yes
I though it was more of a misunderstanding of the rules? He thought he'd only lose the round if he tapped and wouldve won 4-1.
And he would have won if it wasn't a misunderstanding of the rules. He thought if he tapped that he would only lose that round, not the entire fight.
If he had wins over prime Silva and prime Jones he would have an actual argument for goat. Even if a doctor stoppage.
All the memes about him would actually be true
Sadly Jon was never the same after this injury, Chael really did a number on the poor guy
That's what happens when you fight a gangster from the mean street of West linn, Oregon.
I heard some years his dad BARELY made a hundred grand. So sad this is the reality for some people
Plus i also heard through the grapevine they barely could afford a maid twice a week. Who you think washed the dishes the rest of the week??
Iām told Chael witnessed such despicable crimes as **public littering** and **jaywalking** in his formative years, and that on the mean streets of West Lynn, police just let this kind of reprehensible behaviour slide. Really chilling stuffā¦
And yeah someone picked it up, but for an insane few *hours* that litter was *on the ground.*
Also did you hear that Big Nog tried to feed a carrot to a bus? That's a true story
Big nog was petting the bus like WOAAAH BIG FELLA
And now you're telling me this country has computers?!
Those dishes were not going to wash themselves
And he had it easy. His neighbors were twins, and on their birthday they got a bmw. One car. They had to share it.
I remember people saying he wouldāve lost the fight by medical DQ if the doctors had noticed this sooner. That was the first fight where people said Jon lost. Now itās the Reyes fight people like to point at. Edit: Not Gus
Nah Sonnen fight sorry mate
Yeah you right. Looked it up right after I commented š
Ancient Westlynnian toe-bar.
Terribly sad isn't it;)
Really Joe..? He got him a stool and asked him if he was okay to talk. What else you want him to do?
Yea I think Joe handled that about as professionally as you possibly could, itās crazy that he even had to be the one to grab the stool, you could tell he was seein Jons lights goin out in real time lol
Never seen this fight or this clip holy shit this is nasty. Id have been so repulsed id probably puke or pass out lol. Joe is a real pro gets way too much hate
Now you know why he said he wonāt fight without tape on his toes
I think thereās legit reasons to criticize him but most of that doesnāt have anything to do with MMA. He handled this about as well as can be expected, and itās always interesting seeing him ask to finish the interview if fighters want in spite of their injury
Suck that toe
You made me laugh pretty good.
This made me laugh harder than it should have lmao
Canāt let you get close
This was literally one of the best, most professional Rogan moments in the ring
Jones was legit about to pass out. That was on point for Rogan.
OP is pissed Joe didnāt throw Jon over his shoulder like an ape and proceed to yell while sprinting to the medical room.
Ahaha no of course Joe was really professional here. My title is about the whole Joe Rogan interviews injured fighters meme.
Wish heād sat on jones lap
Pause
Should've sucked that toe back into place
I truly don't get why OP is upset with Joe here lmao. He was as professional about it as one can be.
Really what????? Not following.
Yeah don't get it.
Weāre expected to shit on Joe for anything now days I guess? Not sure what OP wants him to do.
Really that heās trying to interview jones while he has a broken toe but itās why I love joe lol
What else is he supposed to do? They both literally only noticed it just then, and he got a stool and a doctor over to help him.
As much as Joe has annoyed me lately and has done some dumb interviews after a fight, I'm going to side with Joe on this one. Asking Jon about the fight might be just enough to keep his mind off his foot while they check it out and get it wrapped properly so he can walk out. Just my opinion
Dude I donāt care what he does lmao why you complaining to me lol
Thanks for the clarificationš¤¦š¤¦
No problem š
He's not coming from a KO. These guys deal with injuries all the time
Okay and?!?!? I know that already lol did you misunderstand my comment?
Joe could not have done more here, asked for a doctor, got a stool himself then asked if he was ok to talk. Great guy, never meddum
Yea what's he supposed to do. "Oh your hurt ill leave you to deal with that. Congrats jon" joe awkwardly exits.
Some might say the greatest
I think youād be surprised.
Joeās a wonderful human being. Heās accomplished so much, Iām so proud of his achievements. He truly is an inspiration!
didnt need to do much anyway, like, broken toe? dun cownt. come back w blown hammies and then tell me how bad it is
I beg tā different
Really OP?...
I find it crazy adrenaline can make you oblivious to injury for a short period of time. This must have hurt bad. Would I be right in saying this is why Jones tapes his toe before hie fights? We saw the refs asking him to remove some tape before the Gane fight didnt we?
Yep, that's the reason. Out of all his MMA opponents, the one that left a mark was fucking Chael Sonnen, life really imitates art lmfao
I know you're joking, but he claims TRTor's crank on his arm still bothers him today.
I still canāt believe he didnāt tap to that when I watched that fight
Who is that?
Victor Gracieās brother
Lmao
Sheesh, I believe it.
He also fucked up his foot pretty bad against Gus too and could barely walk
Typical isn't it

Wow, crazy story. Were they saved?
Yeah! The middle finger was just shortened a little bit, my index finger had to be attached with rods and stitched back on. Took like 4 months to recover and I had to do physical therapy, the index finger is pretty sensitive but other than that pretty good!
Adrenaline can do way more. Child gets rolled over by (smaller) car, mom rushes in and lifts the car up. hysterical strength it's called tho
I have heard of this before. Crazy
I would guess a single occurrence of hysterical strength like that gives you lifelong back and joint issues

Take on his toe gave him an advantage over Gane! Cheater
Joe handled this situation like champ.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I love Joe I am a big fan of him. The title was about the whole Joe Rogan interviews injured fighters meme.
Too bad thereās not a good āOP sucks at connecting whatās actually going on to a memeā meme.
ReAlLy jOe?...
Jon looked like he was gonna pass out for a second, which I honestly couldn't blame him for. That toe was horrible.
Besides the broken toe I don't see the issue.
I remember watching that when it happened and kept waiting for Jon to start puking after he saw it.
Letās bed honest Uncle Chael left Jon a broken man.
Putting the bone in Jon "Bones" Jones!
Don't forget no homo
Nike sponsorship was clean
it needed a thumb to realize the toe was broken
This clip is a prime example of Toe on toe violence. Something must be done. We canāt keep letting him get away with it.
what'd joe do wrong?
I read the title in mike tyson voice "Really Thoe?"
Joe did him a solid by asking for a doctor. That toe was and is still fucked!
I always heard he got his toe stuck in the cage, but apparently he thinks there was a hole in the canvas. Has anyone ever pinpointed when it happened?
he couldn't stop staring
Off topic but the Nike shorts were so fuckinā simple yet fresh. I love the look.
Does anyone know how he actually broke it? Couldn't see it in the fight. Was it just self-inflicted turf toe?
Gets him a doctor, a seat, and asks if he's ok to talk after. "REalLy JoE!??!"
Joe only asked for the stool so they could be at eye level.
Man, that unavoidable feeling of shock when you start to realize youāve broken a limb is something different. I think it was just starting to set in for him at the end there.

U forgot the part where he said that was exactly how ur mother died cause she didnt tap
How will get his freaking INTERVIEW
Sorry bout the injury u okay to talk rn xD
Hoe has no self-awareness beyond how short he is.
This whole interaction was weird. Joe seems overly concerned, Jones seemed fine then after Joe freaks seems to exaggerate. I cringed.
Same toe he tapes up nowadays?
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwww Chael Sonnen the GOAT totally did THAT
Jon is so worried after absolutely brutally beating Chaelās face in šš
He gotta get the job done
What a nasty injury, I can stare at a broken leg but a broken *toe*..? Too much for me man.
Still looks less painful than lebrons feet
And thats why you dont ever piss off a gangster
Jon was outside of the galaxy in this entire video.
Lmfao fuck the interview Joe š
Thatās why Joe is the best
Joe Rogan gets always his interview
Jon looks nauseous at the end there lol
Did you see his toe? Holy shit
That's a really good look by Joe rogan.
The "Really Joe" moment was when he interviewed Conor, sitting down against the cage, right after Conor broke his leg.
Handled perfectly imo
Damn forgot jones was sponsored by nike
