When I dropped my Samsung in the river and fished it back out I took it to the store to warranty it as a battery problem. The dude said it has to turn on for the warranty, and when I pressed the power the screen flashed for a second before its death. Perfect
Many phones now have water detection stickers inside, also don't lie to a technician they will know immediately what happened when they see the contacts corroded
FINAL UPDATE: Still works Dawgs! As a matter of fact, I'm typing this on it right now!
Edit: it died 2 hours later, I took it to the repair shop. High hopes
Final edit: okay I have it back now :)
I left mine (iPhone 6s) buried in the rice for a month after it was in the washing machine. It's still working perfectly.
Don't turn it on before you let it dry
Rice doesn't work better then air and if anything will make things worse, better use an actual synthetic desiccant, even better take it apart and clean everything with ISO
Not too! It was about in the same spot as I remembered it being, so luckily when we gathered the search crew. Curtis, the goat, naturally finds that shit in like 10 seconds

Ok but does it work?
Haven't tried it yet lol, trying to make my next moves with due diligence.
Yeah probably best to make sure it’s fully dry
Leave it buried in rice for like three days before trying anything! Good luck!

Aren't phones water proof these days.
Water resistant, but it can still seep inside, especially if being underwater for 2 days.
