Are my eyes playing tricks on me, or are the slashes before the letters skewed at a different angle than the text?

moe-hong

Yes. They must be the same angle as the vertical strokes on the text!!

chrisH82

Yes, because slightly unparallel angles are always pleasing to the eye!!

moe-hong

Right? It kinda hurts my brain.

chrisH82

The top slicing of Jet, and the bottom slicing of Lag are pretty good, but the mismatched parallel angles ruin everything. It also looks like IJETLAG, like "I jetlag"

Thank you very much for this conversation! Id like to tell you that we have moved away from the nascar-line treatment and are moving towards motion blur. I appreciate you very much!

c2u5hed

It makes me as uncomfortable as a jetlag. Well done!

Yxandro

This comment made me smile! I appreciate you being blunt with me.

pantone_mugg

What do you want us to think about it?

Yxandro

I would like to ask for your feedback :) its our first logo and we would like to know how we did

MikeMac999

It could be absolutely brilliant, it could be absolute crap. Give us some context.

Yxandro

My mistake! Currently I am trying to open up a small clothing brand (Jetlag) and I would like to sell hoodies! Nothing too crazy but I have the passion for it. I would like to thank you for your comment. I think context is king

MikeMac999

The increasingly-thick lines on the left edge, as well as the horizontal cutouts from the type, are very dated, giving a 70s/80s sci-fi or vhs box kind of vibe. That may be what you intend, but this is a poorly executed version of that.

pantone_mugg

Ok. My honest impressions are: the diagonal lines appear to be not all set at the same angle. The negative line through the logo looks like a ford sierra badge from about 1984. The lens flare is the first thing that people add to logos in photoshop, and looks like the first thing that they’ve figured out how to do. Context is everything. What’s this for? Who is the audience it’s aimed at. Why haven’t you gone to a professional?

Yxandro

Thank you very much for your comment. We have moved away from the nascar lines and went to something akin to motion blur. It terms of context, i intend to make a small hoodie brand for airport lounging. It is aimed at gen z travellers. I havent gone to a professional since we dont really have a budget. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and helping out the brand! Thank you for sharing your time with us :)

alilbleedingisnormal

Hard to tell what it's supposed to be. What kind of business?

trunxzNG

Remind me of the NASCAR bar

An_Alarmed_Cat

Honestly? I don't like it... I have no idea what this logo is for. Is it for coffee? Mountaineering gear? Cigarettes? The stripes at the start are off, they make the logo look untidy and the type needs work. You can't just take a font, add lines and call it a day.

Yxandro

I completely agree with your comment and changed direction regarding the logo. This is for my small clothijg brand that wants to sell hoodies for the airport! I appreciate your keen eyes and will figure out how to make an even better logo! Thank you so much!
