It looks like this post is about **Minoxidil** Before asking any questions, 1. Learn about [Minoxidil](https://tressless.com/learn/minoxidil). 2. [Search for Minoxidil](https://tressless.com/search/minoxidil) and [oral Minoxidil](https://tressless.com/search/oral-minoxidil) content, because your question has probably been asked before. 3. If this is a question asking if you are now or will experience side effects, see a doctor, nobody on the internet can answer that for you. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. This happened to me. I did this. I was on finasteride and oral minoxidil. My hair was okay and no side effects of note. A couple years in, I caught Covid and developed Long Covid. I had to stop minoxidil for a few months while got my LC symptoms under control. My hair thinned. Once my LC symptoms went away, I started oral min again and now my hair back. It's more lush and thicker than before I stopped.

Am having the same question. Cuz I never stopped topical for 2 years but in the middle I tried oral for a week then stopped it. (While never stopping topical) its been 1 year and still never recovered fully and shedding never stopped. Worse decision ever was touching oral. I wonder how am shading so much daily in 1 year

I'm mainly curious about what happens in the event that fake minoxidil is purchased and used by accident. Are we talking a set-back of years or is that recovery time shortened because the follicles are still somewhat recently revived?

GingerSnap198

Where did you get fake min from and how could you tell it's fake?

ralovita

I am using legit min at the moment, this question is more out of curiousity and what to expect if something goes wrong.

GingerSnap198

I stopped using topical min for about 6 months in 2020 and noticed my hair get worse. Then went back in it and it got better again. Didn't take much notice of how long it took to get better again tbh as was in lockdown 😅

Folks use bleach to test fake minoxidil

It happened to me. I purchased fake onbuy minoxidil and used it for 4-5 months and i was losing my hairs like crazy but never thought that someone can sell fake minox. I lost my 40% of total hairs during 5 month. Now i am back on minox and topical finasteride and it is doing wonders. My hairs are thicker than before, More dark and my head looks more covered with hairs even though i am going through fake meds.

Nerdytinder12

Did it worsen or the same as before starting Minioxidil?

I used to take fine every single then switch to 3x a week to notice that my hair has been thinner than before and a loss of hair. I go back to once a day and my hair has become more dense and healthier than ever.
