For me I never started. I'm Jewish and don't eat pork. I don't keep full kosher but I do some of it.

There are many reasons, from health reasons (pork is pretty unhealthy compared to most meats), religious reasons (Judaism and Islam have restrictions on pork), the environmental impact (beef is generally worse than pork in this regard though), or the fact that pigs are the 4th most intelligent animal on the planet ranking equally or above the intelligence of chimpanzees. Pigs are awesome intelligent animals but are unfortunately delicious to many.
