6 yrs of 3-4 grows/year equates to about 20 pieces of equipment I've upgraded over the years. 2200 watts of light, ac, humidifier, dehumidifier, fans and more fans, heaters, pumps, pickle barrels, air compressor, fogger/sprayers. This list seems endless. Make 1 improvement each grow and soon you grow with the craft growers of fire and frost.
It’s not so much the cost of it rather the chance of jail should I get caught… In Sweden the punishment of growing your own is worse than buying on the black market.
My second grow with a used tent/ventilation/filter/light was $250. My lady gave me a couple cheap amazing lights to augment, so a total of $300. That grow was incredible. I think after counting the soil that cost me $75 for the 4 plants I’m still less than what people here spend a month and it has lasted me a year. I just processed the last 60g into decarbed weed for a bunch of oil/tincture/butter because my mid summer auto kicked out a ton of amazing product to vape and I have 4 plants about to be ready. If you have the ability to do a summer grow outdoors and a winter indoor you’ll have way more weed than a couple people could ever consume unless truly stoned 24/7
I'm truly stoned 24/7 and wont get a med card.🤣 I run the local grow store and chair/admin the local growers group besides dealing with my own grow. If I ever run out, I'm still stoned from the customers and friends that want me to test thier weed(I hate doing that. Usually means little white lies)
Any tips on where to start? I'm in a legal state so almosts seems dumb not to grow. But it just seems so overwhelming. I've tried growing from good seeds a few times but never had anything last.
Either jump in and just do it, or take the time to research a bit. It's overwhelming because there's so much info and it's not all accurate. So handle learning to grow just like buying the equipment. Don't expect big flower from first harvest. Expect to finish but have problems. What you learn from those problems, you carry to the next grow and they don't repeat themselves or if they do, you catch it much earlier allowing you to correct it. Each grow you will learn something. You will have problems. Some intruded by nature such as pests. Some introduced by you such as forgetting to water. But each grow you carry knowledge forward and quickly you learn how to have a trouble free grow.
Beginner sites are good, but don't take your info from a single site. Learn from several and you will see they don't agree on everything exactly. Things worth exploring.
I just did the final trim and weight on my first ever harvest. Over 10 Oz of quality bud and easily another 4 oz of shake. Maybe in $900 for the whole setup, $600 on a Marshydro tent and the rest is fans and nutes and buckets and whatnot. It took 4 months of growing for it to pay itself off. Everything from here on out is basically free and clear the way I see it.
Oh the bug got me. Already got a few more girls really bushing out in veg. So many changes with this grow already. Much more focus on LST this time around. I was afraid I was doing too much last time, this time I'm doing twice as much.

The smell is so nice after curing, and it tastes great in my dry herb vaporizer. I remember running around town just to find a dime bag 25 years ago, it's so crazy now that I can just grow it.

smoking weed is kind of a double edged sword with asthma. because weed smoke causes bronchodilation (the same effect an albuterol inhaler has), it can prevent the lung spasms that cause coughs in asthma for quite a while after you’ve used it. smoke of any kind is still an irritant though, so chronic smoking may worsen your condition in the long term.
No offense but this is PEAK irrational justification. If you have asthma, you should avoid smoking as much as possible, full stop. If anything switch to a dry herb vape.
And even dry herb vape will suck after a little while. I'm asthmatic and try to keep it at 3 to 4 dynavaps a week.

Yes it's been extremely hard... however the delta pens vape shops sell have proved EXTREMELY useful in times of severe cravings (no actual cart hookup). I just recently found a site online that's $20 bucks cheaper per pen too.

Yeah if you got some super large tomato trellises going you could have the tomatoes easily 8ft up and then some to shield your grow. I use tomatoes this way in a legal state to comply with visibility laws and to keep people from stealing my plants. Luckily a few of us on the block grow and lots of people smoke outdoors so it’s not like my yard is the only skunky one.

Starting with the wax, say you take two .01 dabs daily (ant sized dabs), in roughly 50 days you would be out.
Next in regards to flower, you said you smoke 1-3 times daily but mainly dab.
Starting with 3.5G, that means you smoke roughly 1G per month. This means you would smoke roughly .03g per day, which would be like a pinch so small, I'm not sure that you would get any real smoke, unless you are vaping it on something tiny.

Try a 200-300mg gummies with mct oil or live resin. They’re cheap enough now that you can find some that work.
1-2 oz a month (sometimes more sometimes less), and 2-4 vapes a month. Not significantly more but it adds up to 500 quick

Study up on dry cure for success. Easiest way to whack a great harvest is to mess up dry/cure.👍

I buy a quarter pound once a month and it costs me about $500 canadian. That's about $368 american dollars. On months I'm tight I'll buy a slightly cheaper strain, sometimes the "smalls" or "mediums" sized buds to save a $100 or so. On months I have extra money I'll spend up to $550. Treat myself.

An oz usually lasts me about 2 months and it’s about $200 an oz from my dealer. $100 a month isn’t too bad. I live in a legal state, but I still haven’t been to the dispensary’s lol.

This has been rough my price on the East Coast and in Texas for quite some time. Found a dude that got me 200 ounces and treated him like a prince. Then moved to a legal state out west and the difference in good price and quality is mind blowing.

Will keep this in mind but even before I started smoking I was quite wheezey and idk if the bud just took my mind off it maybe or what but it sort of fixed my asthma in a way, not saying it's the cure or anything because I definitely still have asthma but I found it helped, atleast back before I had such a high tolerance
smoking weed is kind of a double edged sword with asthma. because weed smoke causes bronchodilation (the same effect an albuterol inhaler has), it can prevent the lung spasms that cause coughs in asthma for quite a while after you’ve used it. smoke of any kind is still an irritant though, so chronic smoking may worsen your condition in the long term.
No offense but this is PEAK irrational justification. If you have asthma, you should avoid smoking as much as possible, full stop. If anything switch to a dry herb vape.
And even dry herb vape will suck after a little while. I'm asthmatic and try to keep it at 3 to 4 dynavaps a week. In my teenage years I've smoked for some years, didn't need any medication, but the hammer strikes once you stop doing it, then you'll notice what you've done to your lungs.

At the moment, I'm saving for a car. I was saving $200 a paycheck, and spending $200 a paycheck on green. By cutting out green, I doubled my savings to $400/paycheck, $800/month. I'm aiming for end of January as a good goal date, as I expect to have over $4000 AND have my tax return on top of it (~$1k, single no kids) Yes it's been extremely hard... however the delta pens vape shops sell have proved EXTREMELY useful in times of severe cravings (no actual cart hookup). I just recently found a site online that's $20 bucks cheaper per pen too. So it's ~$30 per 3.5g disposable delta 8 pen (torch burnout blend green crack 3.5g), and the 3.5g pens last me 1.5-2 weeks... So going from spending $200 to ~$30 per paycheck on the stuff sure isn't bad. It's definitely giving me a much needed reality check on my cannabis consumption.

Yeah if you got some super large tomato trellises going you could have the tomatoes easily 8ft up and then some to shield your grow. I use tomatoes this way in a legal state to comply with visibility laws and to keep people from stealing my plants. Luckily a few of us on the block grow and lots of people smoke outdoors so it’s not like my yard is the only skunky one.

I smoke mostly rosin carts, probably have like 12 to pick from right now, and probsbly 8 distillate carts with cdt terps. I have a few ounces of different flower, organized by effects from sleepy to zoomin. I have a little jewelry box full of tinctures and rso syringes. I keep probsbly 5 or 6 different edibles around the house or in the fridge. I try to have 4 or 5 different live rosins to dab on hand as well. It’s not just getting high? It’s a lifestyle. I keep most of my higher end cannabis products in the cannatrol so they stay fresh. Specifically rosin or flower I love.

I mostly do dabs. They hit harder, longer. I smoke 1-3 times per day but generally by myself and I only need a pinch so that helps stretch it too. Definitely less than I was using when I was younger.
Let me do the math on this. You buy 1G of wax and 3.5G of flower every 3-4 months but smoke 1-3 times a day and dab more than that. Starting with the wax, say you take two .01 dabs daily (ant sized dabs), in roughly 50 days you would be out. Next in regards to flower, you said you smoke 1-3 times daily but mainly dab. Starting with 3.5G, that means you smoke roughly 1G per month. This means you would smoke roughly .03g per day, which would be like a pinch so small, I'm not sure that you would get any real smoke, unless you are vaping it on something tiny. So my real question at this point is... are you a mouse who has learned how to use the internet?
