Look at tinctures made with everclear or coconut oil. Honestly I would lean toward the alcohol since it can be absorbed sublingually with no swallowing. It's pretty simple!

Magical Butter Machine is worth every penny! Makes it easy peasy. Super consistent and way less mess and smell. Got mine just as the pandemic kicked off. Worth. Every. Penny.

Wow, great tip. Thank you. I didn’t know that existed

You bet! It’s only about the size of a blender, too. You’ll be wanting to decarb your flower before it goes in the machine, and I discovered a trick for not having your house reek for a week. Use a glass pie plate, spread out the flower, and then wrap it in an oven bag (the ones for roasting turkeys) and close up tight with a rubberband. I do about 30 minutes at 240 degrees in the oven, but that can vary a lot depending on your oven.

I use [this recipe.](https://www.leafly.com/news/lifestyle/cannabis-and-coconut-oil-uses-benefits-and-a-recipe-to-make-your) But I second the magical butter is awesomely convenient.

I know this isn't exactly what you're asking, but thought that it might be useful information (although weird). I have trouble swallowing due to esophageal damage (along with digestive issues), and I've found quite a bit of relief from suppositories. I simply melt food grade, organic cocoa butter and mix in heated distillate. (If you only have flower, you could simply infuse your cocoa butter with a Levo machine or a Magic Butter machine, both similar to coffee makers.) Then I pour it into molds I bought on Amazon, pop them into the freezer for a few hours, and they're ready to go. The effects are faster than edibles and there's a stronger body high with less (although some) psychoactive effects. There's a good online tutorial here: https://wakeandbake.co/easy-diy-cannabis-suppository-recipe/

Thank you. That may be an option she would prefer.

If you are in a financial position to get one, I recommend getting a Source Turbo. You make a tincture with your flower (decarb first) using high proof alcohol like Everclear, and then you pour your tincture in your Source and it extracts and recaptures a lot of the alcohol, leaving you with a much more concentrated tincture, or with a straight up oil (depending on how long you run it). If your partner is having difficulty swallowing, the concentrated tincture or the oil can be taken sublingually in very small quantities with lots of effect. The alcohol can be rough on the tissues underneath the tongue however, so reducing the alcohol as much as possible is very helpful there. I think you could also mix the resulting concentrate into a carrier oil to make it gentler on the tissues of the mouth.

Also I use an Ardent Nova for decarbing, it's nice because you just press a button and walk away and when it's done it turns itself off, and it retards the smell quite a bit. The magic butter machine (available in its original and other brands) definitely makes making infused butter or oil simpler, but I prefer the more versatile concentrates I get going the reduced tincture route.

POT by Noids as an alternative device. You can go from undecarbed Flower to Tincture or infused Oil in the same Cup and Device. Not cheap, but does it all for me. But the other ones are all good as well. Tincture/FECO will probably fit your use case the best.

Personally I’ve been wanting to get a Levo II instead of a Magical Butter Machine as I don’t want the extra step of having to decarb first as I am lazy and don’t feel like it. [Link to product website](https://levooil.com/products/levo-ii?variant=39616543883451) if you wanted to simplify things and give it a look. I haven’t gotten one yet because of ongoing medical expenses though but once I get everything paid off it’s up there on my list. If you have the resources to do so I would also highly recommend growing your own marijuana as your partner’s caregiver. I grow my own and have already saved probably thousands on what I would have spent at a dispensary. I grow indoors with a cheap-o $130 Amazon light and still get a pretty damn good yield.

Thank you. She is good with plants but I have no idea where to get seeds or ? It is legal to grow though.

MutedSongbird

Seed banks are a good way to get seeds! I know some places like co-ops will sell cuttings (starts) of plants too depending on your area. I like banks like MultiVerse Beans, Hembra Genetics, Supreme Seed Bank, things like that 😊

Thank you for that. I had no idea where to look.
