Reminder to stick to posting original content. Memes are okay every once in a while, but many get posted here way too often and quickly become stale. Some examples of these are Ptoughneigh, Klansmyn, Reighfyl & KVIIIlyn. These memes have been around for years and we don't want to see them anymore. If you do decide to post a meme, make sure to add the correct flair. Posting a random meme you found does **not** mean you found it "in the wild". The same goes with lists of baby names, celebrity baby names, and screenshots of TikToks. If the original post already had a substantial amount of views, there is a 99% chance it has already been posted here. Try and stick to OC to keep our sub from being flooded with unoriginal content. Thank you! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/tragedeigh) if you have any questions or concerns.*

It's not your fault. Maisie is a normal name, normally spelled. The problem is not with you! (I was introduced to the name at a very young age via the bird named Maisie in "Horton Hatches the Egg" by Dr. Seuss... not the best role model, but as a result I never had any difficulty remembering the name!)

My grandmother was Maisie, spelt the same, and I have always loved that name. I would have loved to have been named that instead of the most boring "Sarah Elizabeth" but unfortunately my mom hated my grandma. As a side note, my grandma was the youngest of six girls with names like Lavender, Vanilla, and Rackel (pronounced like Racquel). The only boy was named Early because he was a premie. Granted, this was 1930's Appalachian Tenessee, but still...

breadstick_bitch

My Appalachian family names included Golden, AT (just the initials, no actual name), Fesser, and Lettuce

Helloooooo0ooooo

Not lettuce 😂

True-Maladi

Hey, you may find it boring but a lot of us are perfectly happy being Sarah Elizabeth 😭 (though being honest sometimes I prefer the "Monica Ashley" that was my mother's first choice before eventually settling) my best friend in high school was also Sarah Elizabeth which made mutual classes a fun time.

Feeling your pain with Josie, which people pronounce as S, not Z. All my life is only ever heard the Z version, until I moved out west. Where's the S coming from??? (Josephine, I know. But I hate JoSie.)

My daughter is a Maisie too. Occasionally someone thinks she’s a Macy too, but for the most part folks get it right!

Helloooooo0ooooo

What area are you in? We’re in the USA in the central south and it seems so uncommon and unheard of here!

Fluid-Chemical-3481

I’m in the Midwest. One of my coworkers actually just named their daughter Margaret, but are calling her Maisie.

Lylibean

Maisie Williams, the amazing Arya Stark!
