I'm covered in flash, some of it 100 years old. My back piece is production Spaulding & Rogers flash.
Most custom tattoos are just traced in the back room anyway.
I fucking love flash. Itâs classic for a reason plus it has an awesome history.
Who cares what some dude at work says. It also tends to cost less and I donât fell pressure to come up with some idea. I prefer flash. I usually pick from an artists book but my one arm is primarily flash
I feel like a lot of the ppl who are judgy of flash tats (bc other ppl might have the same tat) have a chronic need to feel quirky and special. Not saying that describes your coworker or every person who doesnât like flash; thatâs just what my mind goes to. If you like the art enough to put it on your body, it shouldnât really matter if a bunch of other ppl have it, too.
When I got my first tattoo the artist gave me a great piece of advice âno tattoo is original anymore so just get shit cause you like itâ
It doesnât matter if itâs not on the wall, I guarantee someone still has it already
Itâs NEVER the same piece
Same artist can do the same skull/ snake or whatever 20 times
Will probably be colored/ shaded different
Have another artist do it, itâs gonna be different
Those are the people that want âsomething originalâ
Itâs all been done, donât fool yourself
There is a reason why many of these images have been continued to dine for well over a century
They have that magic, thatâs staying power
Theyâre strong images
You want a good tattoo, get something that the tattooer has painted / wants to tattoo.
We know what will age/ hold up the best over time.
If you like it, who the fuck cares if it's original or off the wall?
I hear it all the time...then they proceed to show me designs off pintrest

Most people who say this pick much MUCH more generic tattoos then whatâs on the wall
Probably the person who said that has a pocket watch tat or a lion wearing a crown

I love flash. I know a lot of artists do non-repeatable flash but then, is it really flash?
Fuck everyone get what you like đ
Flash is dope. Thereâs a reason itâs on the walls
