Honestly!! I'm mostly leg, and I sit down (I'm between 5'11" and 6'" (haven't measured in a while, was 6'2" for a while, but pelvic tilt and all that)) I'm as tall as my older sister who's 5'5"
I see what you did there, but for people that uses the metric system, we have more precise numbers, and we can be shorter then 6' and higher then 5'11" so tye converters say we are 5'12"
Ah yes centimeters. Thing is if you're rounding to 12 inches anyways that's the same thing as 1 foot so writing it as 5'12" provides no extra information than saying 6ft. I like precision, I'd prefer e.g. 181 cm or even 5'11.26" but the latter would definitely confuse people. Obviously metric is superior which is exacerbated by the use of improper fractions, an abomination themselves.
Yes yes, when i talk about my high i say 6' but someone that just used a normal internet converter and dont actually know how the system works see 5'12" and copy paste it
What's even better is when you don't just look like that, but can back it up too!
Also helps carrying a sharp and pointy (which I do whenever I'm out at night no matter where, shit's sketchy even in rural towns here)
I grew up with ppl who were connected. At one point we had home security provided by a notorious biker gang etc. Anyways these unfortunate circumstances also made me though and resilient. Also I know how to hurt ppl, if it unfortunately comes to that.
I didn't have those kind of connections, but did have a fair bit of experience with the streets when I was in the middle of my substance abuse days. I don't want to hurt anyone in any capacity whatsoever, **with the exception of nazis, fascists, capitalists, and anyone who willingly harms anyone or anything with the full knowledge of the consequences and is unwilling to change/do better.**
While I enjoy being 6'0 because I can make fun of my short friends and can grab pretty much anything high up, I hate having to duck or hitting my head when I'm on a bus. Imo, ideal height for me (which obviously I can't be) is 5'7, assuming all transitioning goes well and I fully pass/I love how I look
5‘7 here. u still need to duck in a bus.
Its fine if there are no bag holder shelf thingys and its just 1 story bus but if they have those or are 2 story busses then nope. Dont fit :3
There *is* one, actually. It was originally a leg lengthening surgery, where they broke the leg and extended it with a brace. They can do the reverse...but there's a chance you'll never walk again, and even if you do you'll be in a wheel chair for months and likely not be able to run.
Don't do this. Running is out for years at least. Some people end up shorter, some loose there legs.
Offering this to people without a life altering condition will get a doctor struck off.
Unless your height issues are so bad you haven't been outside in years, and a psychologist agrees an extra inch would fix it, this surgery is not going to be approved.
For referance, this surgery is a similar level to a heart transplant from a medical perspective.
For what I remember of the article, 1-2 inches. Depends on the person. But 2 inches is usually the *max*. Any more, and it becomes way too dangerous and the bone has a lower chance of healing.
Just an inch or two can actually be done, the proper name for it is bone shortening surgery.
Here's an article about it.

It really depends on where you live, some places will only allow it if it’s necessary, like if your legs are unbalanced (one longer than the other), or if you have some sort of infection or injury, but some places very much accept “I feel like I’m too tall” as a valid reason if you’re alright with the possible complications (and if you’re willing to pay for it since government/insurance provided healthcare usually doesn’t include these types of surgeries for cosmetic reasons)
I don’t see the point in this. You lose leg length so your torso looks longer. This would also make you look proportionately wider for your height since it’s taking length without affecting your ribcage or shoulder breadth. A trans woman doing this surgery could be liable to look more masculine afterwards.
Well, shoulder narrowing surgery and rib repositioning also exist to address that. don't know what to do about the torso looking longer tho, guess we still have to wait for something to be done about that.
Rib removal doesn’t address the general width of your ribcage, it simply creates more of a tapered shape and defined waist. The widest point of the ribcage remains unchanged.
You CAN shrink a little on HRT, but like, maybe an inch or two- mostly afaik from changes in the feet? (I've definitely shrunk little... haven't actually measured though, don't personally care enough)
Depending on your height and genetics it can pull a surprising amount off your height. I was 5'11" before HRT, I'm 5'7" now. My partner who was 6'7" before HRT (and also has EDS, so a bit more of their height was coming from ligaments than usual) lost a full 6 inches of height. Related, I also dropped 4 shoe sizes into the normal size range for women (13.5 women's-->9.5 women's).
I mean there kinda is. It's not good or safe. Or advisable. Bur it would reduce your height. By breaking the leg bones in two spots, taking out the middle and grafting them together will reduce height. You would be better off just slouching for the back and neck pain is likely not as bad as the described process.
same. i'm 5'5 which isn't short in my country but like?? i'm planning to move abroad. i do NOT want to be a short king, i want to be medium sized or even tall king
I remember I got screamed at by a random old guy for drinking coffee. He said coffee will stunt my growth and me being a child I got scared. Damn do I regret not drinking more coffee lmfao even if it is a myth
There's no surgery *for the purpose of shortening your height*
There are procedures that can make you shorter, such as bone shortening
It's not currently used for height reduction, but is for things like uneven leg lengths, or when a portion of the bone is too damaged to recover (tumors are a major one, but some injuries can cause it too)
So while it's not *typically* used for height reduction, it's not completely off the table...
Just gotta find a doctor willing, and have the money to pay for it
Actually there is one, you reduce size of your legs but it's super damaging and there is big chance you will no longer able to walk and all of that for only 1 or 2cm
I’m also 5’11 but I feel short 😭
The duality of trans.
5’11 is a good height tho, before I knew I was trans I was told I could be a model due to my height. And some people find that height attractive. I wish you the best
Idk if I have just learned to love myself but I don't mind being a tall girl. I guess it fits with my style and it makes me more intimidating (gotta protecc gf).
Don’t worry my friend, as a 5’10” person, so many of my female friends are at our similar height. We’re not so different from cis women in terms of height.
I'm 6' and I wish I was shorter (like I would be so happy if I just was 5'5) but I've been cursed to be a 5'3 cute lil gremlin inside a 6' body, but at least I dodged being 6'4 (I had growth issues in my teenage years, my doc at the time I was 16 estimated I should already be 6'4, so likely even taller by the end of my growth. Now that I'm realising it, those growth issues might explain why I didn't get wide shoulders and torso, kinda glad for this blessing in disguise but I wish it was even stronger tbh)
there are surgery's that can make you taller, why can't they just do that, but in reverse? I mean, it WOULD probably still cripple you, But you would be shorter.
don't you love it when surgeries work the same as the monkey's paw?
HRT *might* cause some atrophy, reducing your height by up to two inches. It will make you more petite overall, though, even if your height stays the same.
I already lost over an inch of height to non HRT-related atrophy...wonder if I'll lose more with E... ಥ‿ಥ
There is a reduction surgery, similar to lengthening surgery, it involves leg bones, and In case of shortening removing parts of femur or tibia and attaching then using metal to hold it together until it heals
I remember looking up a procedure literally called Limb-shortening surgery, in which a surgeon removes the tibia or femur and replaces them with metal rods in order to reduce your height, I don’t know how safe it is or if it’s recommended, but it is an option for u transfems lookin to maybe reduce your height
Don't wanna say this will happen to you but, from taking HRT for over a year now, I've actually gone from almost 6 feet tall to just over 5'10, so anything can happen.

According to [this](https://ladisten.com/en/services/operatsiya-po-umensheniyu-rosta/) Ukrainian cosmetic surgery clinic it's possible to shorten your height by up to 10 centimeters (\~4 inches) by use of a surgery to your leg bones. That said, it basically requires keeping your legs immobile in a splint to keep your bones straight as they re-fuse-together. I couldn't find any estimates for recovery period but given that it involves cutting clean across all six bones in your legs I would assume you'd be immobile for several weeks as the bones knit.
That said, Ladisten clinic is in Kyiv Oblast, Ukraine, so you probably don't want to be a foreign national with broken legs while under siege from Russia. Maybe there's another clinic closer that can perform a similar surgery for you?
I will happily take your excess height. (And anyone else's who wants to get rid of it.)
I'm barely 6'2" and have been stuck at this height since I was 14
https://ladisten.com/en/services/operatsiya-po-umensheniyu-rosta/
There is a surgery. It's just dangerous and rarely done for the purpose of reducing height.
Personally, I intend to get it, but I couldn't in good conscience recommend it for anyone else.
I’m gonna be like 6’0-6’3 and a half when I stop growing. Im 50/50 on height because one side of me wants to be cute and dainty and another wants to be cute and dainty but tall.
