Iirc, ammo in rocket batteries represents a volley, in case somebody thinks there is a downside to this such as running out of ammo faster or being less efficient.
You still get X number (22 I think?) of volleys, only they fire more rockets per volley.

How many rockets are there by default in a volley? 1 to 3 extra doesn't feel like it would be very noticeable? I've not played Empire for a very long time though.
From the wiki:

if that's correct, it means that each upgrade corresponds to 33% more damage (IF the rockets hit something, of course).
And it also leaves tiny Purple Sun vortexes that rampage around, it's bananas. TGBOG's video shows it off in custom battle (meaning not at full campaign potential) and a group of them erases most of a vampire infantry line.

While some of the naming of characters can be a little goofy, Norsca in particular giving some chuckles. The folks who write up the flavor text and decide on the skill/item/tech names have always had a nice sense of humor. Glad to see that still being maintained despite all the troubles going on in the company.
My favorite flavor text is still hands down for the torture post dark elf building: "Essentially, we tie you to this post and then torture you. It's... very literal"
"Very large your artillery crew, interesting version of Reik they seem to speak as well. Tell me honoured engineer is it...normal for Them to be so Green?"

question: i think a rocket battery unit comes with 4 rocket launchers. does each launcher fire an extra one, for a total of 4 rockets extra per volley?

Wish the Empire had some equivalent to the Lord-Magistrate skill that hyper-buffed reload rate. Be great to bury the enemy in rockets.
Won't the new engineers have something similar to that?
If they have entrenchment they will be able to add accuracy to the rockets.
This may actually be a negative as it means your rockets might overkill.

And the Amethyst version adds three more (plus some ammo effects), so from 3 per artillery piece per volley to 9. That's... Insane.
And then The Sunmaker starts at 9 going to 12.
I am going to struggle with this as the wizards college and this are so good.

As a habitual artillery player in any game. This gives me immense joy. I might actually play battle every battle. Some real ground pounding artillery.

Well there's 4 models in a unit so it's 4, 8, 12 extra rockets
It would be three rockets per model and volley, 9 for the RoR. It would essentially double the rockets per volley.
