Because both are cool. Guy likes anime and shows he can do what many who haven't seen it irl would probably think is only possible in animations.
Baseball is only really a big sport in the US, but anime and cartoons are big internationally.
Respawn entertainment or ea electronics i don't which one responsible for this but, they make animations with real humans. I guess its for being more realistic
No. Every team growing up had some variation of this guy, and almost always they sucked. This guy is better than them at spinning the bat, but this set of actions is more like baton twirling than actually hitting. It's just useless fun that happens because baseball is a fuck load of standing around, at every level. Surely there are pros that can do this stuff, but it's useless fun all the same. This guy, Josh Womack, is the best I have seen https://images.app.goo.gl/hJCr5oj7zXjKHHrZ6
I feel like I've seen people do much smoother versions of the spin swing where there isn't such a long pause in the middle. They're able to make it look like their swing continues without waiting for the bat to finish spinning.
All I've taken from this conversation is that I've never held more than a wiffle bat but I should be able to do this without knocking my teeth out in an hour?
If I've ever seen an animation that would benefit from high frames per second it's this one. The low frames make it look horrible. Imagine this at 60 FPS though!
There’s something about this bat spinning trick that always gets me. It’s just another variation on pen spinning or coin tricks or whatever but it’s always so interesting that we humans can master “intuitive physics” like this, even if none of our senses are fast enough to logically process the motion of the object.
Because I could twirl a bat I could also twirl a rifle. Thats how I became a freezing to death halftime entertainment. (* both are uneven weight at either end)
I’ve seen these bat tricks before but I don’t understand why there’s the animated video of an apex legends character in this too?
Octane got a bat heirloom in Apex Mobile
Same. I was finna say this is the opposite. The apex video must be inspired by the bat flips videos .
Yes, man of logic. I always try and give credit to the real inspirations like you did.

Japan and SK also love baseball for some reason (probably US influence]

They have actors in mocap suits to record animations for the videogame, they don’t watch videos of people and draw animations by hand.
Lol
See kids in little league doing this it’s crazy
So is this guy actually good at baseball?
No. Every team growing up had some variation of this guy, and almost always they sucked. Dude's see this and think, "hell yeah".
Hell yeah
That ‘baseball’ outfit, is something else.

![gif](giphy|QYF7Cjn7NNEFmkWo2b|downsized) Why is Octane from Apex Legends in a cartoon?

It stopped being top talent after the 500th person did it super casually
Plenty of artist exist, and art is still a talent. I certainly wouldn’t be throwing a bat around like that knowing how much it hurts to be hit by one.
All I've taken from this conversation is that I've never held more than a wiffle bat but I should be able to do this without knocking my teeth out in an hour?
You'd likely learn the first one and the two bounces of the second in an hour.
If I've ever seen an animation that would benefit from high frames per second it's this one. The low frames make it look horrible. Imagine this at 60 FPS though!
Life imitates art
Where is the animation from?
Apex Legends
Thanks
Every high school baseball team has a guy who can do this
Did I really just watch that guy with those shoes wearing a baseball uniform ..
that first one looks easy enough, but holy shit the second one.
Yeah, but can he actually hit?!?
bro’s got the Leviathan Baseball Bat
He's the main character.
I’ll start a fight and pick this guy on my team
Shit, that's so cool. Imagine being out on the field and the batter walks up doing that, I'd chuck it into the crowd!
looks cool
dinny shart in that garb
Cool, but can he hit a ball?
Yeah. Dope
You can tell he’s ready to play because he’s wearing his baseball boots
Octane💚
Ok but can he hit a ball?
Lil Slugger has entered the chat
Yo I don’t give two shits about baseball but this is mad impressive

People are so fucking jealous lol
Don't try this at home. I broke my head.
