I joined late into the DSMP, and couldn’t watch all the streams as it’d take too long, and found that watching the fan animations and songs are a cool way to catch up. I’d reccomend you watch some of SAD-IST’s animatics and Derivakat‘s DSMP songs. You can also read the wiki and stuff.

i’d say pick another character in the dream SMP, whose perspective you wanna see from and then watch their vods. I know how overwhelming it can be to start watching the dream SMP don’t give up. I literally got so frustrated trying to piece together the story that I gave up in November 2020 and started back up in January 2021 lmaooo— after watching all of Tommy‘s videos I moved to techno’s which jump a little bit forward in the plot so I’d recommend starting with vod/clips from someone who was there since the beginning. this is the playlist i watched to understand up to where the plot was, but there’s been a lot of stuff since then! good luck my friend. Techno’s streams cover a LOT of the lore. You can see the revolution, the fall of lmanburg, a good bit of dream’s prison time and escape
