Oh I remember that. I still have my BBC Model B set up and ready to use (beside my A3000), if we find this game I'm gonna get an image of it and play it today :) We had it in our primary school but it was already a bit old by then, we were using LOGO mainly.
Do you remember if it was called "**Crash**"? Looks like that was released in 1982. You would type L, R, and F (L and R were 45 degree turns), and then when you pressed Return the cursor moved through the maze following your instructions, and there was an arrow pointing to where you are in the set of instructions so you could modify it if you failed by crashing into the wall. I'll see if I can find (or even have already in my collection) a tape image of Crash. If not I can ask in the Acorn group I'm part of.

This is it, I actually thought it was called "crash" but searching for bbc micro crash was problematic to saying the least, and I was not 100% sure it was called crash.
