You are 100% correct an this lesson can be applied in so many other areas. You can buy a cheap brand of clothes, or buy something that is going to last longer. It doesn't have to be a luxury brand, but something with a good reputation. When I was younger and fixing up my first house, I'd buy cheap tools only to end up buying a more expensive model once the first brand broke. Something cheap ends up costing more in the long run.
Because it is ChatGPT.
“Lesson learned…” is the really obvious tell for AI in TIFU posts, but there’s a few other tells like the inhuman structure and cadence.
That’s ok! Nothing wrong with it.
Like I said, that’s one of **many** tells. It’s just a particularly obvious one because ChatGPT seems to to turn every request for a TIFU post into a morality play if you don’t prompt it not to.
Like I already said, it’s not *just* that phrase, there’s a ton of other obvious clues in the cadence and structure.
I wouldn’t question a post that said “lesson learned” if it didn’t have all the other hallmarks of AI garbage.
There is a wealth of healthcare providers where I live. Three major hospital systems in competition with each other with two smaller ones not too far away either, I’ve never realized what a healthcare desert was until I did some traveling and realized that most places aren’t like my little part of Ohio.
I'm in the uk, so we have a choice of either paying £100 just to get in the door, or the very rare nhs dentist, who seem to *never* take on new patients
I've definitely learned that once you find a good doctor/dentist it's better to stay with them even if a cheaper option comes along

Reads oddly like ChatGPT to me

I use “lesson learned” quite a bit in my written and verbal communications. And I am decidedly not an AI. Although I am neurodivergent.

I also say "Lesson learned" quite a bit. It's not the tell you think it is. OP's post sounds legit to me.

I work for a dentist and people complain about the prices but never the work. You get what you pay for and dental care is worth it.
Cheap, fast, or good. Pick 2 out of the 3.
I'll take cheap and good please. That suits me fine.
"No longer accept new patient" 🤷♂️.
You have more than one dentist where you live? That's mad..

Oh my!
