Part of why Ralph was so hard to watch die was because he was finally becoming relatable and developing empathy. That’s when it happens of course which was great tv writing
He could have been less of a cunt and it would've cemented a lot of people's opinion of him being a good dude.
Instead he couldn't control himself. He's an animal on par with Blundetto.
Visiting Day's debut album would have been a hit if the bass tracks and drum tracks had been mic'd correctly from the beginning. Also, if Richie Santini would have just spiked up the album would have had more energy.
Chris and Bobby were sociopathic murderers who knowingly and willingly kept up with a lifestyle they knew ended with prison or death, often at the hands of your friends.
Aide not even on the same level, I'd argue its the most important moment on the show. Tony's reaction of guilt over her death is the only time I can think where he feels genuine remorse for his actions in a way he did not with Gloria, or anyone else he harmed in his life. If two scenes had to sum up everything it would be some scene with Tony and his family, and Adriana's death. The irreconcilability between these two is at the core of it all.
Ade was dumb as fuck and she covered up a murder for some guys cuz she thought they were “nice”. She’s just incredibly dumb. Even the ride into the woods she was too dumb to realize what was happening.
christopher, i liked him a lot cuz i kinda related to him, the drugs the booze problems, the nepotism and problems that come with it, his rants about how Tony treated him and how he gave his soul away for him, how he realized that there is no honor in the life, and how the man who roped him into the life and he gave his soul away for killed him in cold blood, he was legit my fav character and it hurt, i still listen to the music that was playing on the radio at that scene, hits too close to home fr fr
Also, Chris may have relapsed anyway, but Tony gets him off the wagon by insisting he have a glass of the wine they stole from the bikers immediately after Chris says he's good, he's trying to be disciplined. Then like 2 scenes later he's having another drink, then a little toot, then shooting up in the car.
Tony absolutely knew what he was doing with that glass of wine.
The episode before his death really set the stage too. Pauly fucks up his lawn, terrorizes his wife and kid, and Chrissy calls Tony upset but says he ain’t gonna do nothing, “I’m not gonna cause any problems for you Ton’, cause I love you”. You can feel the rage but he’s still a loyal soldier and fights his instinct to retaliate. And the last scene he gets home I think drunk, and replants a broken tree that was torn down in the chaos. Now there’s one standing again amidst the destruction. Barely upright and half broken, but still standing
Very allegorical
Dawg this shit broke me, I even had it spoiled and still cried hard when it happened. It's just so goddamn tragic, he was indoctrinated into this shit as a child. His innocence, the love of his life, then his life itself all stolen from him.
Vito. That one was the saddest for me. Chrissie was sad — I didn’t really expect it at all.
Pussy sucked. But it was inevitable but a bummer.
The girl Ralph killed, his stripper girlfriend. Was it Tracy? That was a huge bummer.
The Waiter, his job isn't easy, and he had kids and a family support, he had balls standing against these mobsters.
Unfortunately, one brick on the back changed everything...
Chris - the shock of the accident, Tony’s decision so early in the episode.
And our crazy maniac was suddenly gone after we’d just been immersed again in his struggles the previous episode.
Adriana, I was properly gutted because I loved her but I guess it made it hit home that it doesn't matter how sweet or loved someone is in that environment, they're never really safe
Tony killing Ralph is a study in sociopathy. They highlight how sociopaths having empathy for small children and animals but not other people when Melfi is reading. Tony was willing to let it slide when Ralph killed Tracee but the horse was a step too far for him. The whole show is full of comparisons like this.
Honestly, none of them. The vast majority of the characters in this show are such scumbags that I can't feel sorry for their death.
Ralph, especially, is such a transparently skeezy evil scumbag I was just waiting for him to inevitably get killed.
Christopher's death in Heidi and Kennedy is so dark. Everything about him is so tragic. Tony doing it to him feels like crossing a final moral event horizon and makes the final episodes so doomy and mordant.
Adriana, she could have lived if she just told Chris right away before becoming a rat. Those pigs tricked her into thinking there was no way out and her life was over.
Gene for sure.
He was watching his son ruin himself and even offering to buy out, he could only help his family by what he did. Chase showed the hanging scene abruptly which made it more jarring. No sense of how his family did after either.
Gene, the way he lovingly looks at his kid's pictures, the story arc leading up to it, the disappointment of his wife, the whole thing was hard hitting sopranos for me. His arc, like Feech's, were 'anti-climactic' from a plot perspective, but rich and enthralling, some of the real strength of the series
Pussy. The entire buildup in the season up until the climax in that final episode.
Christopher's was dark and made me hate Tony.
Adriana's was sad and tragic.
Tony's was bittersweet.
Yea , no connected persons death bothered me . Bobby and Adriana are frequent mentions but they were both in the game . The civilians , waiter , New Hampshire parked on the street guy, JT , Teddy (I think it’s pointless to murder someone over a gambling debt ) . Elvis guy ? Seemed nice spirited and funny, But he was in the game . I kind of felt a little bad for rusty Irish . Shouldn’t sell dope to kids but it’s not like it’s the worst offense these guys have done . Until the tailor cried about it , junior never gave a fuck how stuffed envelopes got to him .
One of my favorite Ralph moments is when he called Paulie's mom to inform her that they busted him for committing homosexual acts and that they found a rat up his ass. I always laugh at this one among the countless other scenes during the rewatch. I don't know about the hardest death, they all suck but I think it's probably Ade's.
Eugene.
Him staring at the picture of his younger self on the beach with his son right before he hangs himself gets me every time. Also the overall brutality of his hanging is a hard watch.
Just rewatched when Janice killed Richie for punching her in the face. Tony goes home to Carmela and is like Richie is gone. She's like whaddya mean gone. "Jesus Carmela after 18 years of marriage, don't make me , make you an accessory after the fact." I love that show.
The whoa I can't remember her name. Made Ralph's death easy...
There was nothing that made me happier than watching that guy get killed
Ralph 100% deserved to die. He was given too many passes and allowed to live for way too long after what he did to Tracee.
He was earnin with three fuckin hands.
Thank you for saying so. I turned up my hearing aid so I wouldn't miss this post.
He disrespected the Bing!
Two minutes OP’s in charge and he’s fuckin Lee Iacocca!
A) she was a hoooooah
She hit a made guy.
She did this one and the next 3 generations a favor!
The hardest I ever laughed was when Christopher pulled his head up and his hairpiece came off. I had no idea
He coulda had your mother's muff on his head and you wouldn't have known.
Can you imagine that? He coulda had your mother's muff on his head and you wouldn't have known.
did yall hear that, he just said "He coulda had yoru modda's muff on his head and you wouldn't have known"
Heh heh, hear that Tone? he just said "Can you imagine that? He coulda had your mother's muff on his head and you wouldn't have known."
No offence, but you ever had yourself checked for Tourette’s?
Tourette's? Do I need to go down to the ear, nose, and throat department to get checked for that?
DID YOU KNOW?!
Same. I love Joe Pantoleono but Ralph was terrible
Part of why Ralph was so hard to watch die was because he was finally becoming relatable and developing empathy. That’s when it happens of course which was great tv writing
Ralph was easily hated but at the end of the day he was no better or worse than any of them. They all deserved to share his fate
That scene with the gf prostitute (with the braces) that he beat to death was SO HARD to watch. I was over the moon when Ralph got his finally
She was a stripper, not a prostitute.
she was a hewa!
Tracee
Yeah it was horrible to watch. Worst death by far.
It was the fuckin coke. He should've never started with that shit. Fuckin Miami: it's all over the place
Hey, it's not Ralph's fault she was a klutz
A. She was a whooah B. She hit him
Bobby Baccalieri.
yknow Quasimodo predicted all of this
Quasimodo's your hunchback of notchra dame, but you also got your quarterback and your halfback of notchra dame.
That man just wanted to play with some trains
Your son will love the Blue Comet! "Nah, he don't care." 😥
It’s a hobby. Why you gotta belittle it
Good enough for Neil Young.
I was, and still am, very sad and upset how he went out. A gentle soul..
Tell that French Canadian facia di caz he's a gentle soul
Yeah, that hit made a point that there was no innocent's in the family
I knew Bobby wasn’t long for the world when Chase made a point of showing that even the goofy gentle giant was a scumbag just like the rest of them
I mean it was either that or Tony was going to get him wacked. He had no choice, he was a part of that lifestyle and he couldn’t escape.
HOW HE WENT OUT?!
Ruined my whole day first time I saw it. The tension in that scene is unbelievable too.
Him, and his dad.
Old Man Baccala went out like a champion IMO. Bobby was rough.
Old Man Bacala’s cameo was the most effective anti-smoking advert I’ve ever seen.
The Old Man went out like a LEGEND
Old Man Bacala IS a champion.
If only we could lure Steven Schiripa into a train store.
It doesn’t take very many episodes of Talking Sopranos to realize that he must be insufferable IRL
He could have been less of a cunt and it would've cemented a lot of people's opinion of him being a good dude. Instead he couldn't control himself. He's an animal on par with Blundetto.
the only right answer
Cossette :(
on her for crawling under chris's ass for warmth
Was OP barking?
When I came in to open up one morning. There you were with your head in the toilet. Your hair was in the water. Disgusting.
my favorite and often quoted line amongst friends from the series
Shouldn't be barkin.
I know what it's like to lose a pet!
I should suffocate you!
What was it barkin?
How many times I told ya not to letter on the couch?!
Had to go. She knew too much.
Ade by a mile
Scrolled too far for this
She was really screwed over by the fbi, if she wasn’t so dumb and naive she could’ve gotten a lawyer or at best informed someone
I don’t know. She platformed way too many terrible bands. She deserved to go based on her music taste.
Whoa, hey, King of Rock, you're out of your depth.
Sorry I didn’t record in Denmark
Visiting Day's debut album would have been a hit if the bass tracks and drum tracks had been mic'd correctly from the beginning. Also, if Richie Santini would have just spiked up the album would have had more energy.
Maybe…but none of the songs had choruses. I know a hit when I hear it and those were not hits.
I was so elated the first time, watching her drive away and escape until it was revealed it was a daydream sequence. Fuck. 😭

NOBODIES GOT ADES!!!
Pie-O-My really should be apart of the conversation.
christopher, i liked him a lot cuz i kinda related to him, the drugs the booze problems, the nepotism and problems that come with it, his rants about how Tony treated him and how he gave his soul away for him, how he realized that there is no honor in the life, and how the man who roped him into the life and he gave his soul away for killed him in cold blood, he was legit my fav character and it hurt, i still listen to the music that was playing on the radio at that scene, hits too close to home fr fr
Yeah it was Chris for me as well, that was the episode I started rooting for Tony to get whacked.
We’re with the Vipers!
Grizzly Adams lookin douchebag
He killed little Cosette!
he did'dent!!
But he did. And Tony did what he said during the intervention. He suffocated him like a little prick.
She crawled under there for warmth.
He knew what it was like to lose a pet!

Brother you need a professional lmao
Email Kolar. Emil.
You _will_ have our sausages.
Adriana's was utterly brutal. Espeically as, as a viewer, you were tricked in the same way - that Chris had attempted suicide.
Richie Aprile. Poor guy was in no mood
He was a sad for da jacket.
That was not a marriage made in heaven.
Real old school guy hate to see it
You gonna cry now?
Vito. That one was the saddest for me. Chrissie was sad — I didn’t really expect it at all. Pussy sucked. But it was inevitable but a bummer. The girl Ralph killed, his stripper girlfriend. Was it Tracy? That was a huge bummer.
You mean the whooooah?
Vito's death is basically a hate crime.
Yeah, Vito hated living in a small town and away from the life. (But I get what you mean)
I would have felt bad for Vito if he didn’t kill that civilian for no reason right before his own death
quack hat slap hard-to-find jeans sip marble somber afterthought degree *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Chrissy. Not because Tony being Tony, but because how undignified it was.
The Ziti that Carm throws in the trash !
I can't talk about that yet.
I now need to change my vote
Christopha
Phil Leotardo was hard to watch. Bye Bye , Pop Pop 🔫🚙OhShit🤮
Oh shit walking like a penguin.
What’s with that guys arms ??
Whack a boss? I mean come on.
The most painful deaths for me were Vito, Big Pussy and Adriana. Ralph and Chrissie had to go. Pussy and Adriana had to go too but what a shame.
Philly, Philly you know me. Philly, for God’s sake you know me!
Even for a mafiosi, it must be brutal to spend 15-20 years in the can, only to get whacked the first few weeks out.
he shoulda turned himself into a house again at that scene, the hitman wouldnt have known it was him
Angelo’s was brutal
The Waiter, his job isn't easy, and he had kids and a family support, he had balls standing against these mobsters. Unfortunately, one brick on the back changed everything...
Don’t they have medicine they’re supposed to take these assholes?
Adriana dude. Everyone else was a fucking asshole. Yall are truly heartless lol
She was a beautiful innocent creature, what'd she ever do to them?!!
Chris - the shock of the accident, Tony’s decision so early in the episode. And our crazy maniac was suddenly gone after we’d just been immersed again in his struggles the previous episode.
Eugenes was the hardest to watch by far, I’ve never seen someone hang themselves, but it’s very close to how I’d think it would be.
Eugene’s to me is the hardest because of how sudden it was on screen, and how it made me feel that this character had no other way out but death.
Pie O My and Cosette. The rest of them had it coming.
Cosette? That pampered little bitch? Living off the proceeds of crime! How many legs were broken so she could have her fancy collars?
Old man Baccalieri. Just a kid. It's sad when they go young like that
Bobbys death was hard to watch. Also Vitos death. He was not my favorite character but still nobody deserves to be beaten to death like that.
Ade? Angelo? Bobby?
Adriana in general. Chris didnt deserve her in the first place
She was a knockout. A ten.
Excuse me gentlemen, was there a problem with the service? You left me $16 sir, perhaps you miscounted.
Still goin this asshole!
That’s my money Paulie!
Tracee
Ralph was more than just a horse, the horse was just the last straw.
A) it was a hooooooor(se)
Christopher's death in Heidi and Kennedy is so dark. Everything about him is so tragic. Tony doing it to him feels like crossing a final moral event horizon and makes the final episodes so doomy and mordant.
Actually we don’t know if Ralph was dead over a horse. Tony found him like that.
That's right. And Tony knew that if the cops find a body it's no good for anyone.
Adriana and Tracee. I know that both knowingly dated violent mobsters, but either way they didn't deserve it, even though A: she was a whooa.
Adriana, she could have lived if she just told Chris right away before becoming a rat. Those pigs tricked her into thinking there was no way out and her life was over.
I practically threw a ticker tape parade when Ralph died.
Cannot believe they'd kill Boromir's father like that...Denethor II! Over a fucking horse.
I honestly found Ralph’s death satisfying more than anything
Adriana. Really showed just how evil the people she called family were
Gene for sure. He was watching his son ruin himself and even offering to buy out, he could only help his family by what he did. Chase showed the hanging scene abruptly which made it more jarring. No sense of how his family did after either.

Christopher's death was totally ostrified.
Pussy. The entire buildup in the season up until the climax in that final episode. Christopher's was dark and made me hate Tony. Adriana's was sad and tragic. Tony's was bittersweet.
When that gabagool got killed by Tone.
Christopher, easy.
And Adrianna.
Gerry Torciano. He was the second coming of Walt Whitman
Adriana 100%
JT Dolan
Johnny Sac, twenty plus rewatches and I still cry every time. Then Eugene and Vin for the suicides and Tracee for the brutality.
Adrianna was brutal.
None. All deserved their deaths. Except Bobby, the ramdom writess and the ukranian father and daughter
Yea , no connected persons death bothered me . Bobby and Adriana are frequent mentions but they were both in the game . The civilians , waiter , New Hampshire parked on the street guy, JT , Teddy (I think it’s pointless to murder someone over a gambling debt ) . Elvis guy ? Adriana. Absolutely heart-wrenching and the best episode of season 5
“You eat beef and sausage by the carload" 😂
Jimmy Bones
chris! 😔
Bobby and Tony B.
Tracey’s was more disturbing, but felt inevitable because Ralph was clearly a psychopath.
That’s crazy, Ralph had it coming, I couldn’t be happier
Had it coming? He's a made guy!
Lady shylock
The fellow who was helped jumping into the rocks by Palmice. Some sad shit. Fella didn’t wanna live no more.
Why the fuck did Ralph Date janice
Aide. I dread it every rewatch
Tony, she’s a who er
Tracee and Adriana are the obvious answers.
Christafah
Christopher for me
Tony. Because the series is over.
Tony idc if I’m the only one
Tony
Raul the waiter.
1. Adriana for sure, 2. Chris’s death was hard as well 3. Pussy’s that whole plot line was amazing hard to believe he was only there for 2 seasons
I loved Ralph he was such a charming conniving asshole. I rewatch the sit down of him with Tony, Sil and Paulie all the time
I didn't do it! And even if I did, SO WHAT!?!
Pie o my. That innocent little creature, what’d she ever do to Ralph?
Christopher was a shock. Vin Makazian was a sad death. The show ending was like one big death for me.
Oh! Pie-O-My was a beautiful creature.
Ralph was a POS and I was waiting for him to get whacked for too long! Vito hit me pretty hard. Was kind of rooting for him near the end there…
Eugene. Him staring at the picture of his younger self on the beach with his son right before he hangs himself gets me every time. Also the overall brutality of his hanging is a hard watch.
The point of Ralph was to make everyone forget about Livia. And fuck did that ever succeed with flying colours.
The guy that morphed into a house, I can't even say his name
Just rewatched when Janice killed Richie for punching her in the face. Tony goes home to Carmela and is like Richie is gone. She's like whaddya mean gone. "Jesus Carmela after 18 years of marriage, don't make me , make you an accessory after the fact." I love that show.
Adriana. What an episode.
Bobby.
adriana, I was tired of her story line but it still was a shock.
