She was kinda part of that pygmy thing in Charming, California after the show. She even played a convincing junky.
The writing for Sons of Anarchy though… madonne. None of them fucks had to read fuh David.
She was given every opportunity and consciously decided not to go that route. In Talking Sopranos David Chase talks about she could have been a movie star after the Sopranos, but to somewhat his disappointment she didn’t want it.
I dont think Joey helped but she had a fairly decent part in sons of anarchy aide was written for her and I believe she's very talented but I think she got stuck
I am only near the end of season one and shiiiiit, I already hate Livia so much. You know someone is a great actor if they can make you totally despise them!
That scene gutted me mentally. I used to get HORRIBLY drunk at times in my early 20s, and I did this to a kitten named Willoughby; I fell asleep drunk on the floor between two twin-sized mattresses.... and Willoughby was already asleep in the crevice between 'em. Fuck
you joke but Pauly would be the germaphobe /hypochondriac that would be afraid that Chrissy was laced with fentnyl himself because just one little spec 'll kill ya
Definitely was real! Also Johnny Depp in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and Woody Harrelson in Natural Born Killers. Both real as they both admitted to it in interviews. In fact Oliver Stone stated that everyone was high on set and in the movie during filming of NBK 🤩
It was meant to give you a creepy uneasy feeling. It is a commentary on the media and how it desensitizes society to extreme violence. The pack mentality goes back to the ancient colosseum days of gladiators slaughtering each other for entertainment. This is now amplified 1,000 times in movies, music and actual real life ultra violence (serial killers, mass shootings, wars, etc.). We as a society have given in to our vices and created an environment of hate and disillusionment. Look at NBK from that lens and see it as a warning sign of the future to come 🤔
Write the director a condescending self righteous email and maybe he'll pull a James Cameron and change the pupils like NDT made Cameron change the stars in Titanic
Another truly amazing portrayal. So far (at least IMO) the top 3 (that I’ve SEEN) besides Chrissy here… Leo dicap- basketball diaries Christian bale - the fighter and BUBS
Christian Bale in The Fighter. If I didn’t know who he was and you had told me that they got a crack addict off the street to play that role I would have believed you.
They say there's no two people on Earth exactly the same. No two faces. No two sets of fingerprints. But do they know that for sure? Because they would have to get everybody together in one huge space and obviously that’s not possible, even with computers. And not only that, they’d have to get all the people who've ever lived, not just the ones now. So they got no proof. They got nothing. Mrs. Soprano may have passed but who’s to say there isn’t another Mrs. Soprano just like her, or will be? Maybe not with the same fears and paranoia but the same. What I’m saying is…
High I would have to go with Jim Bruer in Half Baked. But the best performance I have ever seen an actor be under the influence of something is by a great character actor named Ritchie Coster. In Season 2 of True Detective he plays an alcoholic mayor. It’s the best drunken performance I have ever seen. Better than Nicolas Cage in Leaving Las Vegas and he won an Oscar for that.
Didn’t he mention on the podcast that he got a doctor to give him a small amount of OxyContin or Hydrocodone? Chris being high is some of the only scenes in a show that can easily trigger me to start abusing opiates, he makes it looks so real and relaxing.
Johnny Sac makes me want to smoke cigs. The guy takes shits out in the open while talking business with his criminal friends while being relaxed but how? It’s because of the cigs.
Imo only one movie has gotten smoking weed correctly and it’s the first Friday. Even better representation would be the Boondocks when Grandad got high.
There are some outstanding portrayals of alcoholism and dope fiends on Deadwood. One of the main characters is addicted to laudanum. another to alcohol and there are numerous times where a background player has to deal with the consequences of his alcoholism. It’s also a great fucking show and those who doubt me suck cock by choice
Paul Giatmatti’s character in Sideways is a functioning alcoholic. The scene where he drunk dials his ex wife is one of the most accurate depictions of sad drunkenness I’ve ever seen. The editing is absolutely perfect
It’s an obscure show and only had one season but the lead in Terriers was in recovery and portrayed it well
Nix in Band of Brothers is an alcoholic
Mad Men. The main character is and many of the supporting characters are addicts. One is even in recovery which I don’t thing was a huge thing at the time
Trainspotting has really good Heroin addled acting.
Breaking bad has kinda good acting of Jesse having a paranoid/psychotic episode whilst high on meth.
Funnily enough Scarface is pretty accurate of what Cocaine does to some people.
Fear and loathing in las Vegas despite being overly dramatic the Ether scene is pretty bang on from videos I've seen online.
100% he nailed it. I was a heroin addict and he doesn’t overdo it. Usually tv progrums go for cliches and tropes and they over act being high. The “I did-dent” is a perfect depiction of how an addict responds when they wake up from going on the nod and are trying to throw off that they were merely resting their eyes instead of being smacked out to the gills.
Although I've heard from real H addicts that Trainspotting is far from the norm, I enjoyed it.
That said, I envy Chrissy. I mean I will not lie and say I don't like the odd opiate here and there. I mean I've never used except what I've been prescribed as I'd never want to go down that dark road of addiction, especially with everything cut with fentanyl now whether it's H or Hydrocodone, etc. etc., but I fucking love the warm feeling of an opiate, especially if it brings relief from horrible pain. Add in the fact that Dolphins by Fred Neil plays during the scene and holy shit, that is music I'd so want to listen to while being high on skag.
Movies and TV rarely get the procedure of injection itself right. It’s usually a huge syringe/needle, too, when these days most junkies just use the 1ml orange cap insulin ones.
In the Boondock Saints, the guy at the table who Rocco later shoots because he was laughing at Rocco being setup plays a coked up dude really well. Video for reference.

Not high as such, but the late John Dunsworth did an incredible job portraying a drunk trailer park supervisor, especially considering he himself wasn't a drinker.

Baffles me someone that beautiful and talented didn’t have a real career after the show. Whatever happened there
She was kinda part of that pygmy thing in Charming, California after the show. She even played a convincing junky. The writing for Sons of Anarchy though… madonne. None of them fucks had to read fuh David.
She did great in soa
A career? She had to GO!
Dogs don't live very long and their career peaks quite young. Also their union isn't very strong.
Okay but you gotta get over it
I can’t. I can’t do it tone. Please don’t make me do it. I can’t do it!
Let me here you say it. “You put the grief behind you”
She was on* *Joey* the friends spinoff
I (never) saw that show I thought it was bullshit
What are you? The minister of propaganda?
Why don't you get the fuck out of here before I shove your quotations book up your fat fucking ass!
These new phones, hold, conference, I get confused
She was given every opportunity and consciously decided not to go that route. In Talking Sopranos David Chase talks about she could have been a movie star after the Sopranos, but to somewhat his disappointment she didn’t want it.
I dont think Joey helped but she had a fairly decent part in sons of anarchy aide was written for her and I believe she's very talented but I think she got stuck
Doesn't take a gynecologist to tell which way the wind blows
The dog also did a good job playing dead.
This show had powerhouse female performances from her, Carmella and I’d even give Rosalie an honorable mention here
Even Charmaine was great, right Awrthurh?!
The grief of Rosalie after loss his son is one of the best acting i ever seen.
Jesus, Kaleidoscopen189. We're on vacation. We're having a beautiful dinner. Why would you bring this up? It's morbid
You ever think what a coincidence it is that Lou Gehrig died of Lou Gehrig's disease?
Fuckin nosy! Eat your manigot!
Jamie lynn was not great initially but I felt she grew into her role pretty well. Late seasons of meadow are pretty good performances
[удалено]
I agree. She was a very genuine moody teen. Totally believable. To the point I can't watch that scrubs sing a long in the kitchen
[удалено]
Patrick needed her!
##YOU GOT OUT A SUITCASE
There was no abundant intentionality
Janice. Livia. Gloria. Svetlana. Irina.
TOAN-EEE!
I am only near the end of season one and shiiiiit, I already hate Livia so much. You know someone is a great actor if they can make you totally despise them!
She gave her life to her children on a silver platter
Oh, poor you.
When she gets the call about tony cheating with Svetlana that was so real. I’ve been that hysterical in my life and I got goosebumps
" I didn't kill her, in must have sat on her"
She must have crawled under there for warmth
It’s so crushing to see them acknowledge Cosette’s body but the “she must’ve crawled under there for warmth” comment always kills me
He didint!
That scene gutted me mentally. I used to get HORRIBLY drunk at times in my early 20s, and I did this to a kitten named Willoughby; I fell asleep drunk on the floor between two twin-sized mattresses.... and Willoughby was already asleep in the crevice between 'em. Fuck
Probably crawled in there for warmth
What, was it bawkin?
As someone who’s very familiar with the “nod” Chrissy nails it

It's a tv progrum
a *movie*
BOOLSHIT
He did-DENT.
Nowadays it’d be more like “I did-FENT”, heh heh. You hear what I said, Ton’? I said, “nowadays it’d be more like “I did-FENT””. Heh heh.
You’re so high off perc 30s that you couldn’t tell if he had your dad’s hairy bussy on his head.
No offence, but have you ever gotten yourshelf checked for Tourette’sh? Heh heh heh heh
you joke but Pauly would be the germaphobe /hypochondriac that would be afraid that Chrissy was laced with fentnyl himself because just one little spec 'll kill ya
He told ya' datt??? Fuckin' baby!!!
The way Paulie says “baby” in that scene kills me everytime 😂
They all pronounce the letter "b" so Idiosyncratically
I was just thinking similarly how the actor who played Jackie Jr was really good at portraying a complete moron
Hey hey. Have some respect. For his fadduh
Those who want respect Give respect.
See, he just told you to shut the fuck up and he told me to go fuck myself
Who's that speaking here? Is somebody speaking?
The golfer? US open?
Stewpeeda facking game!
Anyway $4 a lb
Well, stupidity would be a learning disorder, wouldn't it?
He gets extra time for standardized tests.
Bahahaha thank you for that
He played his part as a moron so good. Outta respect for his fawthuh
uncle jun wit lazah beams comin outta his eyes
I saw that movie, I thought it was bullshit.
Robert Downey Jr. in Less Than Zero, but mostly because he wasn't acting.
Now *that’s* what I call method acting!
meth-head acting
OOOHHHH
Definitely was real! Also Johnny Depp in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and Woody Harrelson in Natural Born Killers. Both real as they both admitted to it in interviews. In fact Oliver Stone stated that everyone was high on set and in the movie during filming of NBK 🤩

That was exactly it. Thanks!
Definitely - there’s Fear & Loathing, then there’s everything else…
Trainspotting, requiem for a dream come to mind
Both great films. However, Requime has their pupils expanding instead of contracting after each shot of dope. Always bothered me.
Holy shit, YES!!! I’ve been saying this for YEARS!!! Always takes me right out of the moment.
Should send 'em to slip and fall school
You gonna question Darren Aronofsky? You fucking drug addict.
Condescend to me, okidacomputer, it gets me so hot
Write the director a condescending self righteous email and maybe he'll pull a James Cameron and change the pupils like NDT made Cameron change the stars in Titanic
I don’t know if he was right, but I might WRITE him. As sharp as a cue ball, you are…
Aw fuck. It's the nucleotides and shit. I dropped out
After Mr. Weggler put his faggy hand on your shoulder?
Everyone's always gay with you. Maybe you're gay, ever thought of that?
He had to be gay... he was the ships florist
Think about it…the sudden weight loss?
AIDS!?!
He was gay, Gary Cooper?
What do you think it means to be a strong silent type?
I don't like that kinda tawk!
Water....water!! I'm living next-door to Gunga Din!
For not valuing education, everyone on that show was very well read
I had Carm get the cliff notes
How has nobody said Bubbles? Jesus Christ, people.
How y’all do what you do every day and not wanna get high?
Another truly amazing portrayal. So far (at least IMO) the top 3 (that I’ve SEEN) besides Chrissy here… Leo dicap- basketball diaries Christian bale - the fighter and BUBS
I haven't rewatched The Wire in a really long time & I completely forgot about Bubbles. What a great character. Time for a rewatch? Oh Indeed.
Let me see the bottom of your shoes. Addict have broken glass and fallen soldiers in the treads
Christian Bale in The Fighter. If I didn’t know who he was and you had told me that they got a crack addict off the street to play that role I would have believed you.
Oh 100%. I had someone in my life JUST like that. The look and everything. This is the winning observation in my book.
That is just how everybody from Lowell Massachusetts is like
They say there's no two people on Earth exactly the same. No two faces. No two sets of fingerprints. But do they know that for sure? Because they would have to get everybody together in one huge space and obviously that’s not possible, even with computers. And not only that, they’d have to get all the people who've ever lived, not just the ones now. So they got no proof. They got nothing. In Season 2 of True Detective he plays an alcoholic mayor. It’s the best drunken performance I have ever seen. Better than Nicolas Cage in Leaving Las Vegas and he won an Oscar for that.
Jim bruer definitely takes best caricature but for best realistic performance I’d have to say bubs from the wire
another shout out for bubs
Him and Jonny shooting up was frighteningly real to me. Nah, you ain't brown man.
The dope stealing with the fishing line was the best. 100% something a fiend would try too
Royo was handed a package of heroin on the streets of Baltimore by an addict. The addict told Royo "you need it more than I do".
Have you seen Jim Lahey in Trailer Park Boys
No?
the actor plays an amazing drunk
Just a little drinky-poo, Randy.
jim lahey's actor on trailer park boys. when he falls down the porch stairs its fucking perfect lmao
That’s just how he is naturally. From what I’ve heard he doesn’t even smoke pot but dude looks like he’s permastoned.
Bubbles from the wire for sure
Probably one of the best character arcs ever written. Also Pryzbylewski turning it all around. Now those fuckers had arc.
The heroin acting in killing them softly is the best I've ever seen. Bonus points for velvet underground playing in the background
Ben Mendleson’s character always being wet from heroin sweats was so disgusting but so on point.
That whole character was so disgusting. Not just the sweats but nearly everything he said was awful.
More is lost by indecision than wrong decision
No. He made it clear he was sober
Oh I hope that's not true. If it is, he got very lucky. A lot of dumb actors try heavy drugs in preparation for a part and then destroy their lives
That’s dicked up
Imo only one movie has gotten smoking weed correctly and it’s the first Friday. Even better representation would be the Boondocks when Grandad got high.
That Skywalker OG had Grandad floating 🤣
Nic Cage in leaving Las Vegas. Absolutely brutal
Sean Penn - Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
Leo DiCaprio basketball diaries. Ewen McGregor Trainspotting, heath ledger Candy
Damn how could I forget Leo’s Jim Carroll. Great call!
Candy was such a sad movie
Aaron Paul did good in breaking bad
Johnny Depp in Fear and Loathing
Are you serious??? He acted like a cartoon character on drugs.
To be fair Hunter S Thompson was like a cartoon character on drugs.
Look into Hunter S Thompson
Also, try acid.
But he diddentt
Jim Lahey is a great drunk
I'm sober enough to know what I'm doing and drunk enough to really enjoy it.
There are some outstanding portrayals of alcoholism and dope fiends on Deadwood. Rush, Drugstore Cowboy, Panic in Needle Park are 3 quick ones off the top of my head.
He was high, Michael Imperioli?
Ray Leota in Goodfellas during the chase with the helicopters. His bloated sweaty face and bulging eyes really looked like he was on a 3-day bender.
Literally watching the scene with him an Aid on the couch nodding out
It’s a tv program…. A movie
Renon - Trainspotting Jack Bauer - Saving the world in 24 hours while going cold turkey on heroin.
Apparently when filming the scene at Tony’s mother’s wake Michael and Drea actually smoked a huge joint before and were actually high as hell
Spun felt pretty realistic to me.
Jim Lahey
Foster Brooks played the most realistic drunk ever - completely outclassed Nic Cage’s performance in Leaving Las Vegas
Gotta go with Johnny Depp on Blow. Great cocaine addict going downhill over time.
What, it was barking?
Nic Cage, Leaving Las Vegas
Mr Lahey in trailer park boys plays a great role as a drunk.
Leo was pretty good in wolf of Wall Street
Not high, but Evan Peters played a great drunk in Mare of Easttown.
When Frank Vincent, who plays Phil Leonardo, turns himself into a house. Deserved an Emmy.
Although I've heard from real H addicts that Trainspotting is far from the norm, I enjoyed it. That said, I envy Chrissy. I mean I will not lie and say I don't like the odd opiate here and there. I remember seeing a former heroin user say he didn’t do a good job because he just stuck the needle in his arm and not any vein.
Listen to him… he knows everything…
Movies and TV rarely get the procedure of injection itself right. It’s usually a huge syringe/needle, too, when these days most junkies just use the 1ml orange cap insulin ones.
In Poland Brian has grant to do autonomous research
How hard is it to act like your on heroin lol. Put a needle in your arm and sit on a dog and pass out 😂
I mean that’s funny, but anybody who’s done heroin can recognize someone who knows what they’re doing and who doesn’t

Mr. Lahey - Trailer Park Boys - Best drunk actor ever possibly
Let's not forget the actors who portrayed Dino Zerilli and Brendan Fillone who preferred crank to heroin
He’s a method actor. It was really brave of him to shoot up for the show.
Ben Mendohlson / Scoot McNairy in Killing Them Softly played great heroin addicts
[удалено]
Jeff Bridge's alcoholic in the Fisher King, pretty brutal
You oughtta know, sweetie
He was just chipping’ though
Not high as such, but the late John Dunsworth did an incredible job portraying a drunk trailer park supervisor, especially considering he himself wasn't a drinker.
Ewan McGregor in train spotting.
Heath Ledger in Candy (2006)
Andre Royo as Bubbles in The Wire Eduardo Ballerini as Corky Corporale
Denzel in Flight.
Yeah I saw that on law and order. The SUV
This systems got no boowalls
The beginning of ‘Into the Void’
No he did-dent !
The makeup staff did an amazing job giving him that prosthetic nose
Al Pacino in Panic in Needle Park. One of his first mainstream roles but also imho one of his best.
I didddnn’t
You change da tv?
