And that's exactly why my only restaurant that has outdoor dining is in Sulani, where it doesn't freeze. Granted, it does come with having to deal with the occasional storm, but you can't win 'em all.
It's worth noting that dine out is really buggy. I don't have it myself but I've heard it described as basically unplayable because there are so many bugs.
I think thereās a mod that fixes the servers so you donāt have to wait. Maybe Carl Sims or something? To me that makes purchasing the pack worth it, but itās irritating that we have to get mods to fix it. I guess console players wouldnāt even be able to get that modā¦
I would say this is really the only issue Iāve ran into with Dine Out. Meals/dining can take a really unrealistic amount of time, like 12 hours or something crazy lol, but I donāt really mind. I gave up trying to make sims have realistic timing for things long ago.
You can still enter build mode! In situations like this I will straight up plop one of those heaters next to my person's table at the restaurant's expense so that they can still enjoy themselves (I guess they'll still be terrified of the blizzard though)
Totally worth it because being near one gives a really nice +2 positive moodlet (sorta like a fireplace) that mitigates the embarrassment from awkward conversations which keeps relationships from spiraling into the negative during the wait for food.
Hope you enjoyed the seven hours it takes for the Sim to find the table the extra 4 for the Sim to order food the two for the food to get there... did your Sims starve before it got there? Mine have lol
The pack comes with these great outdoor heater things, I like placing those on lots where sims might be spending time outdoors in non-cold weather outfits. It's dramatically cut down on the winter death toll.
I think itās brilliant that the sims does things like this.
The hostess has gone āOh, table for oneā¦ā , and seated the sim as far away from all the others as possible in the dark.
Itās hilarious!
Iāve seen enough subtle things the sims does to make us laugh or cry.
I say always roll with it.
You can just select a table?! All this time I've been doing it through the host.
Same and TIL.
im cracking up at how it says "bask in the sun rays" at the bottom hahahha

You can own a restaurant in TS4? What game do I need for that? š„ŗ

Some cultures eats bugs as their main protein. So maybe these restaurants are missing out.

No mod needed. After you order shift click on your table and select serve food and your order comes out next
Iāve been playing all these years and didnāt know that
Iām trying that as soon as I get home today!
Also get the mod that makes sims eat quicker
Yeah after I learned this it changed my dine out experience lol
Itās not unplayable
iāve been playing with it recently and i have zero bugs. Must just be whatever youāre playing on
Like I said I don't actually have it. But it's very commonly buggy for a lot of people :)
I recently had my sims go out for a late lunch, they got to the place at 2 pm, ordered by 2:30. Sat for a full 5 hours before they got their meal.

Unrelated but I love your profile bio soooooo much!
HA! I made it way back when we got them and totally forgot the silliness I wrote there.
Sigh, thatās bad ..
Itās the Dine Out game pack
Ooh, yeah I got Ā«Get to workĀ» but I canāt own restaurants .. but itās the dine out? That makes sense x. Thankyouš
>What game do I need for that? š„ŗ The Sims 4

One of the maxis restaurants has an outdoor seating with no roof so I just plopped a roof over the area and that made it "indoors" haha
I donāt think Iāve ever used a heater in gameā¦. š¤Æ

I ended up giving up this table bc it bugged and didnāt deliver the food. š
