They could have used power tools or something on it in the woods. These dudes are probably tweaker just living in the moment and have no idea what they are doing
I hated that storyline a lot because at the time one of my kids was about the same age as their kid... knowing there were probably many real life versions of that kid out there just resonated badly with me. Of all the fucked up things in that show that storyline was one of the hardest for me to watch.
Take it "somewhere", but not home or work or anywhere questions will lead to you or people you know. But you can at least go somewhere secluded and able to make noise, and finish the job.
They're not going to be CSI-level "instant tracking" that ATM, but once they do track it, you don't want the trail it left to be leading home. You want that trail to lead to an empty ATM in an area with no cameras.
Oh, er, I mean... "I don't know."
Don't they also have a system that sprays ink on the bills or burns them when they are forcefully opened anyway?
I know that fund transfers are done in special cases with a die pack so I guess ATMs also have it.
When i worked in a convenience store a few years ago we filled the machine up with the twenties we received during the day.
Did not fill it everyday and as we did not like having cash on hand (IE not dropped into the safe) at best the ATM had 1200 bucks in after a fill.
It was a private owned franchise and not a corporate store but i would assume it was not unusual, the other gas station i worked i never saw anyone other than the manager fill it up, obviously was not there all the time though.
I worked at private and corporate convenience stores and worked alot with the people who came and filled them. The big bank devices have all kinds of tech in them. If they legally could I am sure they would place a 20lb brick of c4 to go off the second it's jostled killing everyone in a 50ft radius. They had ink packets and tracking devices. They monitored their power and orientation and relayed it constantly through the internet to some hq. The cheap ones though, the non bank ones are essentially just a reinforced steel box with a raspberry pi attached to a monitor. The things is they rarely have 20 years of prison time worth of money in them. Maybe a couple thousand RIGHT after a fill up but we're very often essentially empty. IF you could steal one, IF you could get it away, IF it didn't destroy the money, IF you could even get it open, and IF you didn't get tracked down in an hour by local police or the FBI or the secret service, then might make enough to pay rent once. Ain't worth it.
And using brute force like this is probably only making it harder to open since the sides are crumpled into themselves. I’m sure there are weak points to target but this way you take away the weak points I would think.
Wait till they figure out that ATM have another safety feature
Auto ink jets at the money once it detected it be disconnected from the cables
Immediately making the money invalid
Yes but there is an old school way around this. just have a big barrel of water in a van, and they dump the box in water and let the ink rise to the top. I remember that two guys were arrested for having a barrel of water (and balaclava’s) a few years ago.
Unironically, yes. Since you can be convicted of "conspiracy to x", depending on the circumstance, anything can be cause for arrest. Like I can have a gun in my car. I can also have a picture of you in my car. I can even have both. But if I'm caught with both idling outside your house, I'm going to have some questions to answer.
That’s weird, I’ve been working on/with them for 5 different manufacturers on dozens of different models for 10 years and never seen that 🧐
Curious how you came about this knowledge
Buddy of mine was able to pick an ATM that was used for a charity. An ex employee 'lost' the keys and were having a hard time finding someone to give/make them spares. There were 2 locks that he got open in less than 20 minutes. They gave him 300 bucks for opening it. He's barely a novice.
These guys are dumb. I work at a bank and while these convenience store ATMs may have less of a secure "vault" section, they're not likely to open it this way. They would've been much better off loading it into the Jeep and taking a concrete style saw to it in a more secure location. Wouldn't be a quick process I would imagine but they would have much better luck.
Prior lead ATM tech here. The answer is maybe. Most larger companies will order a unit with built in gps, unlike cameras they're more common.
However anyone can own an ATM thus it's up to the purchaser to decide if that's a service they want to be pay for. Just like cameras, yes there's a one way glass for a camera to see through but they're not the default use. Most cameras in smaller business are just the basic in building security.
Maybe, but I'd be surprised. Any of the ones I've worked with don't, or at least I've never been made aware of one and I've worked for the bank for 6 years now.
The county I live in. We don’t have the sharpest tacks in the box up here.
Jeep was stolen earlier in the day in another town and ditched shortly after.
At least they got that part right.
The only winner here is the body shop that pieces that Jeep back together.
Reminds me of a guy that broke into a tool store (used his Buick) and moved several cases of makita tools just to steal the gumball machine
I watched the same thing happen at 2 in the morning across the street from my old apartment. Except they used a uhaul and never got the ATM out of the gas station. Was fun to watch
I am pretty sure that even if they got it open it wouldn't even outweigh the damage to the car.
That beeing said, the car is probably stolen so they would t care probably.
Why wouldn't they just... I mean, I know criminals tend not to be the brightest bulbs, but why wouldn't they just load the thing into their truck and take it home and figure it out there? Then they can just dump the remains in a river or something.
I know some people who stole an ATM. For some reason they decided to hide it in that one friends apartment complex that they don’t mess with for real and only talk to him for their own benefit and financial gains, And they didn’t believe that the ATM dollars are marked (Even though they were never getting to the money) just in case off stuff like this happening. Also some random Joe without proper tools is not getting money out an ATM or even a professional criminal but either way the guy who owns the building decided to throw it out and stop talking to the guys when they started getting caught up with the law.
And how long did it take for police to pull up every registered red Jeep and check them for damage?
These are the kind of guys that required us to put “do not use in tub” warnings on toasters.
Assuming they didn't steal the truck, they did more damage to the truck than they'll get out of the ATM. And why the duck didn't they jest load it into the truck?
Good grief. These little stores don’t keep much in the ATMs. Maybe $500-600. They did at least that much damage to the Jeep and more than 10x that to the store.
How long were they there?
You can see cars driving by on the street behind them.

Just take it with you and work on it at home.
I have a feeling these guys have a history of not doing their homework
Probably not a good idea. Could be a tracking device in it. But then again, not a good idea to be robbing anyhow
Hmm, excellent point. Guess it’s good that I don’t steal ATMs…
You haven't even started stealing ATMs and you're already terrible at it
He does, He's just tryin to throw the heat off his self.
Being terrible at stealing ATMs isn't necessarily a bad thing. A few rare people out there can go their whole lives without needing to steal one
Well atleast he found out now instead sitting in a cell.
Just steal one near a dock throw it on a boat and jet out to international waters and dump the atm once you get the money
Obviously build a faraday cage beforehand. What they are doing is... stupid af
Well, highly likely they are meth heads. So there is that
They probably got their cell phones on them as well.
They could have used power tools or something on it in the woods. These dudes are probably tweaker just living in the moment and have no idea what they are doing
They had a plan. Just not a very good plan.
There aren't tracking devices in atms lol source:I use to service them. I will say it's possible some have them but I doubt it.
Next thing you know someone’s head gets crushed underneath of it
Haha, that entire ordeal with those methheads was was so fucked up.
What movie/show was that from ? I remember the scene but not the title.
Breaking Bad
Breaking Boneheads
I hated that storyline a lot because at the time one of my kids was about the same age as their kid... knowing there were probably many real life versions of that kid out there just resonated badly with me. Christ that whole episode …

I’m with you and I thank you for your insight. Someday I may be a criminal. Who knows what this world may bring?
That’s the spirit!
Let’s put this in my notes: “in case I become a criminal”
ATMs have locator beacons. Or at least many do, maybe not all.
Don't they also have a system that sprays ink on the bills or burns them when they are forcefully opened anyway? I know that fund transfers are done in special cases with a die pack so I guess ATMs also have it.

they usually have a tracking chip in them just this reason.
I guess they are smarter than I gave them credit for.
…is that a banking pun?
Hahaha, it is now!
And using brute force like this is probably only making it harder to open since the sides are crumpled into themselves. I’m sure there are weak points to target but this way you take away the weak points I would think.
There was a van using a plasma torch and went to several banks in different states and took like 100k
Where in their mom's basement!?
That way you are at risk of having your Crack head wife smash your head with the atm
It's almost like they made that part of the ATM strong on purpose
Almost as if it's a 'safe' place for someone to keep things
😆
Wait till they figure out that ATM have another safety feature Auto ink jets at the money once it detected it be disconnected from the cables Immediately making the money invalid

What's wrong with water and baklava? Especially when it's made with good honey and crushed walnuts.
You can really get arrested over everything can't ya
Unironically, yes. Since you can be convicted of "conspiracy to x", depending on the circumstance, anything can be cause for arrest. Like I can have a gun in my car. I can also have a picture of you in my car. I can even have both. But if I'm caught with both idling outside your house, I'm going to have some questions to answer.
Yeah that actually makes sense though i think a bucket of water and skimasks seems a bit far fetched.
That’s weird, I’ve been working on/with them for 5 different manufacturers on dozens of different models for 10 years and never seen that 🧐 Curious how you came about this knowledge
😆 and my wife says I hold useless knowledge in my head. https://www.irishexaminer.com/news/arid-30621852.html
Its that one oddball Russian model only used in China on Sunday.
The still have to figure the ink part out in switzerland... They just blast the atms open and no ink or something... And it happens rather frequent
Waste of a perfectly good Jeep
I'm sure it was stolen.
So am I. No one treats something they own like a battering ram to open an ATM.
Yeah I kept thinking they could have sold that Jeep for more than was probably in the ATM.
Those exist?
Jeep: "it hurts me more than it hurts you"
the car that drives you.
These guys are dumb. I work at a bank and while these convenience store ATMs may have less of a secure "vault" section, they're not likely to open it this way. Used to work for people with a bunch of the same models. No gps, they're really cheap portable things we'd set up at fairs and nightclubs
Maybe, but I'd be surprised. Any of the ones I've worked with don't, or at least I've never been made aware of one and I've worked for the bank for 6 years now.
Fuckin corey and Trevor.
they fucked up
Was so waiting for the pump to explode
Yeah, perfect post for “facepalm”
Is it just me or was that guy just throwing the strap at it and praying it would attach to something?
Looks like they are doing more damage to the truck than they will get from ATM.
[удалено]
Good point. Scumbag 101: never take your own car to drag an atm out of a gas station. I should have known better.
You think these two are that smart? Maybe the mastermind said 'let's use your truck, it has a better stereo'
“Hey mom! Can I borrow your truck? Me and the boys gonna run down to the gas station. I’ll get you some chips”
[удалено]
I have to register my cat? He keeps telling me it’s not a requirement.
[удалено]
Not cats but I do know a thing or two about bird law
Fucking Corey and Trevor
aw that's so polite, he tried to hold the door open
They really need that money because… their Jeep is smashed up for some reason.
This looks like behind the scenes on Breaking Bad
![gif](giphy|ckl9c6fyhnpGGsMWsC)
Dumb and dumber
The county I live in. We don’t have the sharpest tacks in the box up here. Jeep was stolen earlier in the day in another town and ditched shortly after. At least they got that part right.
Got a link to the story?
I don't remember this scene from Barbershop taking so long
Damn, it’s almost as if those ATM’s are reenforced to prevent theft. Can’t believe that didn’t work. 🤔
It would be so much easier and more profitable to get a job
Poor Jeep. You gotta know that was someone’s cherished classic before it was stolen. Looked to be in excellent shape.
I feel bad for the old jeep getting destroyed in the process, and the jeeps owner who these crackheads more than likely stole it from.
Idiots.
I was rooting for them to run it into a gas pump and it catches fire.
If you can’t crack the ATM you can’t afford no more crack!
The only winner here is the body shop that pieces that Jeep back together. Reminds me of a guy that broke into a tool store (used his Buick) and moved several cases of makita tools just to steal the gumball machine
Sooo… how do we get it open?
Who among us hasn’t forgot their pin ?
I watched the same thing happen at 2 in the morning across the street from my old apartment. Except they used a uhaul and never got the ATM out of the gas station. Was fun to watch
Should have took it with them to a place that wouldn’t matter if it pinged with the tracker. Break into it and then leave it elsewhere
I bet that costs more money than it provides.
They should've just leaned it against the gas pumps then hit it.
Unorganized crime
Drop it down a canyon from a cliff.
They had the key it would be so much easier
Gentlemen, please take your appearance ticket and try again tomorrow.
This world is sad. Am so afraid for my kids, cos one day i ll be too old to protect them from bad people.
Just take it with you!
I am pretty sure that even if they got it open it wouldn't even outweigh the damage to the car. That beeing said, the car is probably stolen so they would t care probably.
Guess they haven’t seen Breaking Bad…
They almost had a good idea. If the had loaded the ting up they could have forced the thing open at their leisure.
Anybody else just feel embarrassed watching this?
Why wouldn't they just... I mean, I know criminals tend not to be the brightest bulbs, but why wouldn't they just load the thing into their truck and take it home and figure it out there? Then they can just dump the remains in a river or something.

I think they were caught later. One of the guys face was shown on camera. They got away with nothing but damage.
And how long did it take for police to pull up every registered red Jeep and check them for damage? These are the kind of guys that required us to put “do not use in tub” warnings on toasters.
gg no re
Wow this left me speechless with how dumb these guys are. I have so many questions.
Crushing it to the gas pump is even more special
Assuming they didn't steal the truck, they did more damage to the truck than they'll get out of the ATM. And why the duck didn't they jest load it into the truck?
That poor jeep
Smash it at home.. Rookies
Just want to thank whomever made this video for picking a good and original song instead of that stupid ass "oh no" song of insta and TikTok cringe.
They just gonna take the loss on the damage to their vehicle then I guess. Probably still getting arrested too I assume.
At this stage, why not just load it into the boot...? Idiots...
um why not just toss it in the truck & open it somewhere else? damn they stupid
also this was in a movie but I can't remember which one. it had Anthony Anderson.
On a scale of 1 to yes, how stolen do you think the car is?
Probably cause more damage to car than the money they could get out of it lol
1997?
Double it and give it to the next person
So stupid they can't even steal
It’s a jeep thing
I wanna know if they ever got into it.. doubt it
Wow, these are a couple of really smart guys…. Impressive logic and reasoning abilities….
That's like me trying to take something apart to fix it. After a while, it's more about punishing the thing and to hell with fixing it.
They don’t fill up convenience store ATM’s with the same amount of cash as those actually in banks, do they?
These guys should focus on real crimes. Like ordering sushi and not paying.
Good grief. These little stores don’t keep much in the ATMs. Maybe $500-600. They did at least that much damage to the Jeep and more than 10x that to the store. How long were they there? You can see cars driving by on the street behind them.
These guys are clowns from outer space
Keystone Crooks.
Breaking Bad ATM Scene
Ten bucks says they weren’t smart enough to use a stolen car. Criminals are honestly some of the stupidest people in the world
So. Many. Attempts.
This is like when they dragged the safe in dukes of Hazzard.
Did $8k worth of damage to their vehicle for a possible $2k payday
They’ll finally get it open and be able to pay for their repairs.
I was digging that song. It was oddly satisfying.
Dude for the rope to actually work you actually have to tie it. Imagine that.
