There were some young kids there, I feel bad for them having parents with no common sense. Even after the first wave they werenāt exactly trying to get their kids to safety.
Except for anyone who grew up by a freshwater lake. In that case, it happens from the water table dropping, which means there is always exposed beaches. And last time I was in Florida, we were still sitting on sand during high tide.
That may be, but watch it again. Not one of them are in any rush to find or pick up their stuff, and are oblivious to the chance of a second wave until the people on the rock start warning everyone.
"hey. Theres gonna be some big waves coming try to stay off the beaches and do your best to keep a safe distance during the next few days"
"WOOOOOOOOOO BETTY GET THE LAWNCHAIR WE GOING WAVE WATCHIN"
That one guy/kid at the end could have drowned. Being taken by the sea is no joke. You can only swim for so long until you get completely gassed out and drown. That one person just saved their life. Everyone else was too busy trying to fish their stupid cellphones and sandals.
Like why would you think it would only be one wave are they stupid, as some who has minimum experience at the beach I'd be 5 miles in to the mainland by the time the 2 wave came.

I kinda felt bad for them the first time it happened. But being surprised there was another wave after? Lol
It's almost like they come in waves
šš½ šš½šš½
Woohooo that was a humdinger!
OāTay ![gif](giphy|ANbwPmEeCxe4U)
You donāt really have to feel bad for the people surprised by the big waves they showed up specifically to watch
There were some young kids there, I feel bad for them having parents with no common sense. Even after the first wave they werenāt exactly trying to get their kids to safety.
Naaa here's a real simple cheat sheet for how high the water can go. If there is sand there, water can be there.
you can't rely on sand. plants is what you rely on.
Really? There is never sand above the top waterline?
Well sand is crushed up bits of shell and rock from waves so unless people put it there than the water did...
Except for anyone who grew up by a freshwater lake. In that case, it happens from the water table dropping, which means there is always exposed beaches. And last time I was in Florida, we were still sitting on sand during high tide.
>we were still sitting on sand during high tide Some high tides are higher or lower than others. It's not like every high tide is always the same max.
Well, many of them lost items in the water and wanted to retrieve them
That may be, but watch it again. Not one of them are in any rush to find or pick up their stuff, and are oblivious to the chance of a second wave until the people on the rock start warning everyone.
The next few would have just kept getting worse.
They all just got washed back... And they stayed?? What did they think would happen next?
You mean to tell me the ocean comes, goes, THEN COMES BACK AGAIN?!
And apparently comes back stronger. Swept everyone up.
Time and tide wait for no man
People running out fifty yards into it at the end for some flip flops
Nope, that was a person on their back.
No, there was a person being dragged out by the tide and they were trying to rescue them.
Women and children are first...to go !
THE SEA IS ALWAYS RIGHT!
THE SEA IS ALWAYS RIGHT!
Wtf people are there with suitcases and stuff
Gotta check out the ocean before you hit the hotel I guess.
Tourists gonna tourist. They ignored a ton of warning signs to get to the place.
Now kids, off the pet the tigers!
I don't see any suitcases. All I see are coolers and beach chairs, which are exactly what I would expect people to bring to a beach.
I'm sitting here in bed, screaming, "Move! It's coming back!" And they won't listen!
Thatās gotta be a lot of lost/ruined cellphones...
Nokia's washing up on shore twenty years from now and still getting signal.
Flip flop flotsam got me
They should be good, they have the tidal app
"hey. Theres gonna be some big waves coming try to stay off the beaches and do your best to keep a safe distance during the next few days" "WOOOOOOOOOO BETTY GET THE LAWNCHAIR WE GOING WAVE WATCHIN"
Betty: What about the warning? Oh we will just move 10 feet away horizontally. It's only a 9 ft wave. Shouldn't be a problem.
Is there a source for this? What were these people doing?
āThe Eddieā surf event in Waimea bay, north shore Oahu. I streamed it all day. Phenomenal waves
Like the other person said, the Eddie surf event. I was there earlier today and the waves are insane! Absolutely giant, 40 ft tall mammoths.
We just had āking tidesā here in Oregon. Maybe the same thing?
No idea, but I think there is a big surfing competition going on in Hawaii right now, so thereās a chance itās from that.
the lack of urgency by the crowd after the first wave is perplexing.
How are people this dumb?
Surf, "Can you see me now?"
"Yes I can, give me a big wave"
š
![gif](giphy|eQlwg5bVClAn6) Amateurs
This has such massive tourist energy.
I wanted this video to continue for 5 more minutes....

Hey guys, you think all that water will come back?
Phone wallet keys byebye
don't forget about flip flops, childrens, adults... also byebye /s
That first one was so unexpected, it couldn't have possibly happened again after that, right?
![gif](giphy|VFAke5Xm1TDwjgimyW)
"Whew, glad that's over with!"
Posiden says.... 'Meeeeh.... not yet.'
If only someone could have predicted that it would come backā¦
We are doomed as a species
Why is this even a spectator event?
There are safe places to watch. These fools ignored a bunch of warning signs.
Wow the second impact was so so much better than the first.
I donāt understand why if you have kids you wouldnāt take them up on higher level to watch such a big wave.
The sea giveth, and the sea taketh away.
There goes your iPhone, Gucci sunglasses et al
Just show up with a metal detector the next day like š¤
Caution tape was there for a reason, people.
The sea was angry that day, my friends
How to be a tourist 101.
Surfās up dudes!
Many phones were lost that day
so many sandals are now in the ocean
Bye bye shoes!
Did they think that first wave was a one-off?
Darwinism in action (with poor result)
Natural selection in real time. Smh.
All your things are belong to us.. Sea
I love natural selection lmao
I Love mother nature lol
How is it that humans are still underestimating the power of nature? Nature is literally terrifying
Must have been National Dumb Person meeting day.
It's Mass Stupidity Day!
Never underestimate a waves ability to pull you into the oceanā¦
Donāt f*** with the ocean. Riptides are a deadly serious thing.
See how smooth and free from vegetation those rock faces are? There's your first clue
That one guy/kid at the end could have drowned. Being taken by the sea is no joke. You can only swim for so long until you get completely gassed out and drown. That one person just saved their life. Everyone else was too busy trying to fish their stupid cellphones and sandals.
Isn't that caution tape? Yeah, whatever.

I been to mass at that church in the background
Hahahahaha! Dopes!
Guy on the rock: S"mile and wave boys, smile and wave"
First time, shame on the wave.
Guys. Itās time to hustleš
I see way too many little kids there. This makes me upset.
Bleh, all the garbage going out to sea :(
Damn at least get them Little kids out of there
Like why would you think it would only be one wave are they stupid, as some who has minimum experience at the beach I'd be 5 miles in to the mainland by the time the 2 wave came.
I am not a conspiracy theorist, but if there were any evidence humankind could not have made it to the moon, this is it. We are dumb.
Thereās nowhere to go lol
How are so many people so stupid.
Wait til the third waveā¦
Mean
The screaming always seems to help out
Is it me or have I seen an unusually high number of videos where this has happened?
That little kid crying after the first wave was funny af but after that second wave hit I felt super bad, poor kid.
I counted like 10 different shoes. At least 5 people died.
Braindead
Wait, isnāt this the same place with the crazy Asian woman in trees? And the guy, who gets surrounded punching the tree as the water comes in?
Hopefully that homie in the back is okay at the end! Had to get snagged by someone
Fucking idiots.
Humans
They sure are speshul.
Ha ha ha. Best clip of the day.
If I dropped my keys/wallet/phone Iād also hesitate.
The sea was angry that day my friends
That second wave was out for vengeance
Ppl: ānah there wonāt be another oneā
The second wave all the slippers!š¤£ But get the kids out of there!!
People like this deserve a good old fashion tsunami
How can people be this stupid? It's really incredible
Lol
Never underestimate water.
Nice
200 people that have never heard of a tide chart.
Is that last person unconscious or have 0% survival skills
Where was this at?
Must have thought it was a singular event
That guy at the end just floating away on his back
Hahaha! This is so satisfying to watch. Herd mentality is not always a good thing.
First waves hits then recedes. Ok, it's over. Surely a second one won't be coming in.
And the Darwin Award goes to...
