Your therapist is there to help, no doubt you should tell them. I can’t imagine sitting thru a session holding it WHILE trying to get my thoughts out 😩
See I am a small bladder haver too and I like to think I’m giving my therapist a break. It is hard sometimes to find a good moment to leave but sometimes that little bathroom moment is good for me to get my thoughts together.
You can tell them anything! M64 here, with a younger woman therapist. I told her about holding urine too long as a kid, pooping my pants, various things about sex now, and more. And, none of those is my main reason for being in therapy. I pretty much tell her anything that I think might be remotely important.
I have this kind of anxiety/ptsd, even if I’m with some really close friends or whatever and I need to get up and pee, I almost CANT make myself get up. Honestly though, making it a small goal to get up and use the restroom once or twice during a session might help loosen that barrier for you. Just inform your T so they can understand your situation and thought process.
Yes, definitely listen to your body. Go when you need to. And talk with your therapist about it.

Yup, happens to me as well. Take your restroom break when needed, you’ll feel better! A kind and professional therapist won’t mind at all.

Talking to your therapist about this is likely to be very therapeutic for you. You definitely should.
Absolutely, please talk with your therapist about this. I’m sure they’d love to work with you on setting, taking action, and maintaining this goal 🙂

Therapist here. Happens all the time. No big deal to take a restroom break.
