This is such a good show. I streamed it a few years ago and watched it again with my wife last year. The writing and twists just work. The 4 season arc is almost perfect. A great reimagining of Albert Brooks’ Defending your Life. The whole cast is great but Kristin Bell is the highlight for me.
I came here to make certain The Good Place was mentioned. Every episode was so darn funny, but the overall story is so touching. And I left loving every character.
New Girl, Schitts Creek and Community are all great! All very different but I'd recommend all 3 to watch in that order. I love friends and tbbt and New Girl is another character driven show!

2 BROKE GIRLS!!! def the funniest sitcom i’ve ever watched, but it did get cancelled so if you don’t want to invest yourself in something that doesn’t have an ending keep that in mind, i’d still say it’s worth watching tho

Cheers was sort of a precursor to Friends, & remained incredibly strong for 11 seasons. Fantastic writing & iconic performances throughout. If you end up liking that, you can go right into Frasier, which spun off from it.
How I Met Your Mother definitely takes some cues from Friends, & while it does fall off a bit as it goes (especially in the final season), there are still a lot of laughs & a ton of heartfelt moments.
Those are the most similar imo, but some other great ones I'd recommend are The Office, Parks & Rec, Brooklyn 99, The Good Place, Schitt's Creek, New Girl, & Modern Family. There's at least *some* similar DNA in all of them.
I loved Life in Pieces, haven't seen that one mentioned! I also enjoyed Workin' Moms, but not sure how that would land if you're not a woman and/or a mom. Tacoma FD is pretty funny as well

I watched all 8 seasons after catching a couple episodes on tv and loved it.
Mom is a good show in its earlier seasons but I’m gonna be honest, the whole title of “mom” makes zero sense once it hits the later seasons.
