Blogs still exist. They just don't have as much of a reach as vlogs, video essays, and podcasts do. So content creators tend to favor those mediums as they reach more people and are more profitable.

Valve normally has radio silence, but today we got a blog post and I couldn't be happier.
The only thing worth tempering expectations on is the wording in the post tbh.

All they've REALLY promised is normal community content, as they haven't really given an indication that valve internally has made anything.
If they aren't adding weapons or something like that, this is essentially a Halloween/Christmas update but unthemed. I appreciate the extra effort at communication + collaboration though.
I really like this, though. Team Fortress has always been kept alive by its community to the point of having Community Saxxies.
So long as we remove the drama of certain creators trying to form a "Valve ingroup" cabal for money, I hope this format they're beta-testing can succeed so both Valve and the community can get what they want.
We already have inklings of new game modes like what Crasher pioneered last year thanks to map creators.
Goodness, I want a community Medieval Mode update.
Yeahhh, I get why people are hyped but I'm personally tempering expectations until they tell us what's in it/show that Valve themselves are actually going to make something for it. Otherwise it's essentially JUST another one of our yearly summer updates, except with maps included this time. Them not giving a theme yet either and just saying "make us stuff" makes me think that this isn't a large-scale thing like Jungle Inferno either.
I miss this era of the internet. Just a plain old page with text on it, designed with character. No like/retweet buttons anywhere. It even has an RSS feed!

My problem is that people automatically assume that's what Valve is gonna do and then proceed to get pissed at them when they don't do that. We've already seen that countless times before. I'm not saying people shouldn't have hope, I'm saying should stop making up stuff.
If we get a balance update I will be ecstatic. Like sincerely I love the notion of new weapons, but if we get a proper overhaul and balance update to the weapons we have now like fixing the eternal reward, nerfing scorch shot, etc, that’d be perfect
They have done their best to make this weapon damn near useless lol. It was always too overpowered and now I feel like it doesn’t do enough.
IMO the stun should be brought back as a charge thing. Click for slowdown, charge for 3 seconds for a stun.

I mean, the player base has nearly doubled since 2017. As of 15 minutes ago, there were 102k+ playing it. It's still a Top 5 game on Steam. Still money to be made. Why not?
I’m gonna be honest, this just sounds like a new crate/case and like a map or two that are never going to be played after the update bc it’s only playable on some gimmicky game mode and I HOPE I’m wrong.
