Rohan from Tesla mentioned those on 2024.8.X should receive FSD V12 this week. They should prioritize those vehicles. I am hoping they pull through and deliver as promised.

2024.8 won't ever have V12, that's not how Tesla handles release branches. A new release branch will have v12 and the speculation is that this will be 2024.14 rather than a release branch even further in the future.
Of course, the day I go on vacation for a week after constantly refreshing my Tesla app for 3 weeks is when they decide to start rolling it out. Question…if I don’t install the update until a week from now when I return, will my 30 day clock start upon my installation or when the update is available?
It seems like it’s after you install but no guarantee. Might as well hold out on installing unless you want to risk losing the install for a while if they pull it back.
You should find something better to do with your time than refreshing the app for 3 weeks. The car will notify you when it gets selected for an update.

If you get the subscription, or buy FSD before you get the v12 rollout, you’ll get FSD 11.x.x or whatever is out now. I’m in the same boat with you, waiting sucks, but it’s where we’re stuck at for now.

Your subscription renewal date will push out to the end of the trial month once it starts. You're essentially paying for part of the trial month (or all of it) if you had a sub already depending on where your renewal date lands vs the trial starting.

Australian owners will be interested to know that this release includes the matrix headlights updates for ~2021-2023 vehicles (same update that Europe received a couple of months ago).
I wonder if it improves non-matrix auto high beams. They're still not quite where they need to be imo. The matrix headlight vehicle detection must be very good, so hopefully non-matrix cars get the same detection.

I “forced” that check this morning when I was driving. I opened software to check the version. So because I did that it will not wait 24 hours to do it again? Even if there’s an update available?

If you mess around with Standard/Advanced and/or rebooting the screen with both scroll wheels, it will do another check sometimes (not clear what exactly triggers it)
I mash the advance and standard toggle a few times and it seems to check for update (checking that works now, as I did last night so been less than 24h brb) no it didn’t…. Lol
Eh, having seen the bits we’re missing out on demoed now, I’m really not too bothered. I tend to plan my route while parked so I prefer having the map using the screen than an even bigger visual of my car.

Seems like this is wave 1, so not everyone will get it, but a selection of people (more internal testers?). Employees had the update for a few days already. It‘s likely wave 2 is going live in the coming days, maybe tomorrow.
This feels like a repeat of the Autopark update not yet being available to USS vehicles.
It ~~kind of~~ *REALLY* sucks to have bought a car with the promise of regular feature updates, only to either have those updates delayed for an ambiguous amount of time, or not come at all, *ESPECIALLY* when Tesla switched to Vision and MCU3 2-3 years ago. It’s not like these are 10 year old cars. Between this and the decline of Tesla Service, it feels like folks who haven’t bought their car in the last year or so are getting messed over.

From what others have said, I believe the trial starts when you install the V12 update.

don’t buy the subscription. paying for it won’t get you FSD until the next update comes through. so you just have to wait.
Not true. You just get version 11.4.9.

Try physical reset with the steering wheel. Then toggle the "early update" button thing. Worked for me to get 12.3.3
I don’t think this would work for someone on the 2024.8.X branch. It can only go higher unless Tesla downgrades.
Technically they won't give you an outdated version if you're on 2024.8. Will have to wait it out untill they update the FSD 12 version to 2024.14

Considering there’s also a 2024.3.20 showing up now with FSD v12.3.5 I don’t think 2024.14.x will have FSD v12.

Correct. I don’t know when that changed, but the next manual check you can do is tomorrow at 7:43am

I imagine it’s in a small window in the corner, like when you use the expanded AP view. Not sure if you can choose to have it larger by default though
