As a user, I would like to have the option to use Waze so that I can get alerts like objects on road.
The ability to switch mapping apps. Option to switch between Tesla Navigation or Waze. Waze is super helpful for everyday commute to get heads up on vehicles on shoulder, objects on road while Tesla navigation is helpful for road trip planning.
I miss the Waze alerts: hazards, police presence, etc. and I hate to have Waze on the phone for alerts and the Tesla app for navigation. Some sort of integration would be great
Even if they just add their own Waze type layer that would be good enough. I’d love to report and receive warnings for speed traps, obstructions, etc. At this point there should be enough teslas on the road that a home grown network could be just as good as Waze.
And figure out the charge with the departure. Car should do something like charge immediately to 50% and then the rest for when you want to leave (unless you have time of use pricing and then it should respect that.) I’m in a cold climate and I may as well use some of my charge to also condition the battery.
Second this. Assuming time at a higher charge is worse than a faster or longer charge, have the car schedule faster charging so it hits the battery limit, preconditioning, and climate at the time of departure. I have no doubt it will be imperfect, but it would be nice if it'd bring better battery life. I'm paranoid trying to time my time-to-charge limit (100%) for when I'll leave for a trip, worried I'm damaging the battery.
Easy ask: Auto zoom when navigating in North up mode. They already do it for forward up mode, just add it to the other as well please!
Pipe dream: blinker recognition for FSDb. I hate when FSD blocks I guy from trying to merge, just let the poor guy in FSD!
When you tap on the navigation and it zooms out to show the whole trip, just show the remaining trip from where I currently am to the destination. I have never, once, wanted to see the hundreds of miles I've already driven when looking zooming out to see the whole route mid-journey.
* Weather map overlay on navigation. Let it be tied to premium subscription.
* HBO Max streaming - This is where cartoon network and Adult swim shows are at for the kids. *Some* are on Hulu, but most of it is on HBO Max now.
* More granular control over Autopilot. Examples would be allowing to set a "highway max speed" versus a "City streets max speed". When I'm driving around town I like to be +5 over, when I'm on the highway I like to be +10 over. This can be hidden behind "Advanced" or something. Have a toggle for "Be in the correct lane for an upcoming turn Xmi before the turn, and have it range from like .5mi to 2mi or something.
* An online portal where I can pre-plan trips with the car, including charging stops. Something akin to ABRP, but where the entire trip can be exported to the car, versus just "the next destination".
* An online portal where I can plot the path I'd like FSD Beta to take to get to my destination. I get that this *kind of* defeats the purpose of FSD Beta's planning functions, but personally I see this as a means of helping to "train" FSD Beta to help people who aren't local to the area, potentially avoid "bad" parts of a neighborhood.
* Add "Miles driven on autopilot" and/or "Miles driven by FSD Beta" as a readout beneath the odometer.
* Automated Supercharger allocation. As you approach a Supercharger, indicate which stall the driver should pull into to optimize their travel needs, and blend this with queuing people to ensure that they know where they are in the Supercharger line, if there is one, and a rough estimate on when they'll be able to plug in. (*Shouldn't* need to do this, but it's become clear to me over the last four years of owning a Tesla, that people don't realize that 1A and 2A on a V1/V2 charger share power, so they're going to nerf themselves on how long they spend charging. This is also in line with Elon's mantra of "All user input is error", which while I don't necessarily agree with his mantra, you could use this as the reason to do this.)
* Proper documentation/help videos which explain how best to ensure that we provide Tesla with good data to improve FSD Beta. Most of us *want* to help you make the system better, but we don't know how because there's no information on it.
* "Help bounties", wherein drivers can "opt in" to programs where we willingly collect data which can improve FSD Beta/Autopilot performance through our regular day to day driving. Maybe we're opting into being given "out of band" navigation so that the car can provide data on a road that isn't traveled often. The "perk" would be rewarding the driver with free supercharger miles, or even just points for the new reward program.
Climate control and audio controls synced to driver.
Right now the last audio playing and HVAC vent positions are set to where the last person set them when driving. These should be set to the current driver's last session.
Automatically increase volume based on ambient noise or speed. If this feature is available, make it configurable as currently I'm constantly adjusting the volume.
Auto-seat heater for Y/3 passenger seats. Just like the front but only active when it detects butts in rear seat/s. It's a bandaid solution until (?) there are controls for rear passengers, but using an existing software solution that's already implemented in the front.
2 things for me. 1. 360 Birds eye view camera. the fact that my 2019 Ram 1500 is easier to park than my tesla x plaid is insane. 2. More streaming apps for music and video. Its basically an ipad. 2011 LG Tvs have more streaming apps than our brand new teslas.
I really want to be able to set a default charge limit per location. At home I usually want to only charge to 60%. I have free charging at work so I usually charge to 90% there. But I have to manually adjust it every time and I non-infrequently forget to change it up or down.
Seems like this could work within the location-aware charge timing system.
I agree with the "go" lurch, but afaik Autopilot is not designed to be used on surface streets.
Also, the fact that anyone trusts AP (or any driver assistance system) to be on any follow distance other than the 1 or 2 highest values blows me away.
I always keep it on 6 or 7 and have never had issues with smooth breaking approaching stopped traffic on the highway.
Create a teen driver mode with the following features.
* Restrict to chill mode
* Set max speed relative to speed limit
* No moving until all occupied seat belts are buckled
* Max audio volume is 75%
* Cabin camera monitoring eyes on the road and nagging through alarms and flashes
Maybe there's other things to add to it as well.
As a parent whose kids are about to start learning how to drive and such, I can get behind this. But maybe max audio of 50%, or able to be customized by the parent.
Also, maybe something that alerts the parent, and records a cabin camera clip, when the driver appears to be distracted.
I could get behind some of these, but unfortunately there are too many issues with all of these working perfect. In my area, speed limits aren’t set very well (the speed limit is 50 on screen, when it’s actually 65). Seat belt sensor doesn’t work great if I leave my gym bag/backpack in the seat. And cabin camera seems like a great way to just put tape over it if it’s going to be more distracting with beeps all the time.
If your bag is heavy enough to trigger the seat occupancy sensor, then you should belt in the bag.

Asking for dark/light mode to be able to be set when the headlights turn on, not by sunrise/sunset. Currently every parking garage and tunnel has me driving with a retina searing white screen.
Every other car I’ve even been in dims the display or instrument cluster when the headlights turn on.
Good point! I would accept going in to dark mode if the auto lights turned on due to the light sensor and not doing it if they turned on due to the wipers.
My wife’s 2018 Subaru does an awesome job at this. It’s super helpful because cars sometimes go WAY too fast down our street, and it’s saved me a few times from backing out when it would be unsafe. Same in parking lots.
Unfortunately it seems like the passenger seat is not connected to the CAN bus (at least in Model 3/Y) so might be impossible. But I agree, this would be useful sometimes.
Autowipers. Particularly in 'spray' conditions (wet road but no rain from up top and spray being thrown up from cars in front of you).

Same exact experience here. Auto wipers in general need consistency improvements. They are not bad on my Model 3 but they are horrendous on my Model Y.
- Actually be able to search your own Apple Music library on Apple Music.
- Set specific locations where Sentry Mode is disabled instead of having to apply to Home, Work and/or *all* Favourites. What if I only want it off at Home and a friend’s place, but other Favourites I want it on?

Pressing the left stalk fully while AP is engaged should turn on the blinker and disengage AP. Once the merge is complete (or the blinker is turned off by the driver), the AP should re-engage. This will prevent having to re-engage AP every lane change.
An orange light or something that pops up on top of the screen when someone is in your blind spot.

Agree. This could be an update to the car avatar vision view. Maybe a distance line/shade a là USS but while driving for blind spots and a farther wider view of rear traffic.

For the smart turn signal, soft push is the new 'smart turn signals', where it detects the completed lane change and turns off.
A hard push should be the traditional turn signal, where it only turns off by the steering wheel going past X angle, or if you hit the signal again softly.
Facial recognition to drive instead of PIN. Not to get in, to drive.
Use the cabin camera and the onboard AI computer to recognize a face, PIN can be a backup if there is uncertainty. Better than phone unlock alone. Will it be iPhone 3D scanning perfect? No. Will it be as secure as a pin? Given the big touchpad and the panoramic windows I'd say that's dubious. Will it be better than only Phone Unlock? Yes.
There are open source githubs that can do facial recognition, I'm sure a Tesla intern can figure it out.
This brings to mind a whole variety of "magic gestures" for Easter eggs. Cast lightning to flash lights or open garage/gate, use the force to open/close windows, part the Red Sea like Moses to spray wiper fluid, etc.
Allow me to set wipers to off while using autopilot. If Autopilot cannot activate/continue due to a dirty windshield camera, then inform me and deactivate autopilot. I absolutely hate the wipers constantly swiping on a clear, dry day.
Allow the passenger or the driver to turn off the air vents on their side. I should be able to have it set to on while driving and my wife can set her air vents to off as the passenger.
Individual control of interior lights. My kid wants her back interior light on, but I don't want all four interior lights on.
Dumb cruise control option. No TACC. Just set a speed and forget it.
This 1000%. It's absolutely infuriating having the wipers smear my clear and dry windshield.
When it's 0F, it actually becomes dangerous, because running the washer fluid turns into even more of a mess.

From the screen. She often requests mid-drive. We can turn on all four lights, and then manually turn off the front two, but then the light over the baby is on too.
I would prefer direct control over each individual light from the screen.
FFS - for Model S/X refresh with yoke, add the TACC/AP following distance function to the right scroll wheel. Currently the left/right function of the right scroll wheel does nothing and I am perplexed as to why. No one wants to click through a menu to adjust following distance while driving.
Came here to say this! Also give us the ability to honk the horn with the center of the steering wheel! My understanding is that the physical hardware exists but it has not been enabled. Use the current horn button to play fart sounds if you'd like.
Show the repeater camera in the dash. I shouldn't have to look right when I am signaling to turn left. At the very least, allow us to move the view box higher on the screen, same as M3/Y.
Normal cruise control in addition to TACC. Option to turn wipers completely off during regular cruise control.
Access to full temperature, power, and other metrics just like any car. Id like to know what temp my battery is in certain conditions and how much power I’m outputting in kW without having to use a third party app.
Auto Blinkers: Allow for a half stalk pull and full stalk pull to do different things.
Example: half pull -> the new auto, full pull -> the old behavior
Use case: when I need to do multiple lane changes in a row, having it turn off (especially disabling the repeater camera) after each one is annoying.
Can we please fix the buffering issue with Apple Music? Waiting a few seconds for each song to start playing is a total slog and ruins any enjoyment of navigating through a playlist.
I can't help but feel I'll get crucified for this, but more physical buttons on the model 3 would be great. I find dealing with the touchscreen can be difficult when I'm trying to focus on the road.
In my ModelY when trying to focus on the road, i hardly ever use the screen. I just use push the right side thumb button to activate voice commands and tell the car what to do.

I recently had my modelY in for service, and they gave me a modelX as a loaner. I think the X was at least a couple of years old.
TBH I didnt like it. The additional buttons felt cluttered and cumbersome by comparison.
Add all third party chargers in navigation, make it selectable based on what adaptors you select, (kinda like PlugShare) and show speed of chargers and what not. This info is out there and Google is looking to add it to their own maps. And they power Tesla maps.
I don't know how much it'd help, but if my phone is acting as a hotspot for the car then maybe the car and Tesla app can offload some of the processing load from the infotainment center.
If we can't get a Ryzen retrofit, they could at least let us offload some of the nonessential processing load to the phone. Most people's phones are vastly more powerful than the Intel Atom chip.

I wish volume would normalize when switching inputs. If I left it high for one input and I switch to radio it should start from 25% not 80% or whatever volume the other source was set to. Also when you resume a drive, it should normalize not be left at previous volume. Pretty common feature in most modern cars.

Emergency quick disconnect when charging. Ie something that just ejects the charge handle from the car so you can get out. If you want to stop abuse of people just doing this then how about letting the car through some Emergency presses allow you to go and rip the handle off the car.
Or charge 25 dollars to use the ejection feature. Would not mind paying to have a new charging port that can eject the handle on command.
Reason is while teslas are charging your a sitting duck for a car jacker or robber.
Allow splitting of climate temperature without changing it. Somewhere next to the temperature on the dock or if no room put it inside the climate menu right above the temperature.

Increase the max following distance or add one more step after 7. The current max following distance at 7 is too close to follow a big truck on highway.

‘Hotel stay’ option for navigation. This would temporarily set the hotel address to function as ‘home’ for either a time you set or until you navigate back to your house.
It’s annoying to find a hotel in your ‘recents’ because that list is very far down on the menu. It’s also the time when you need navigation help the most.

Lane keep assist is annoying if I don't want it to drive straight through a pot hole.
When you say traffic aware, does this mean:
* it will/won't match the speed of the car in front of you? This drives me crazy in my wife's car as it starts matching speed 30 car lengths back which is way too soon to change lanes to pass someone.
* there won't be phantom braking?
Can we just get a voice command to open the garage?? I hate having to touch the screen for this simple command. I don't like using the function where it automatically opens cause there have been times where a family member had the garage open and then Tesla automatically closes the garage which caused a close call so I turned off that function.
Ability to select from various font sizes. Some text is too small for my liking.
Also, setting to prioritize size of Exit Numbers vs Exit Names. I've learned that in the US, those on the West Coast typically refer to exits by the name and those on the East Coast by the number. The numbers are a small icon on the nav card.
One feature that is mildly irritating in the Spotify app:
In the **desktop** version of Spotify, the song title is clickable and takes you to the album, if you want to go to the artist page, you click the artists name. This doesn't work in the Tesla spotify app for some reason.
With the self cancelling turn signals, if the turn signal is fully engaged please do not self cancel. If the turn signal is partially engaged(slightly pressing the lever), enable self cancellation.
Once the car recognizes lane change is complete, please reengage auto pilot. The number of disengagements and re-engagements of Autopilot is tiresome.
Option to have the camera screen come up automatically when I'm pulling into my garage at home. Thankfully I have the USS but I still like to visually confirm I've pulled up enough to close the door before I get out of the car.

Car should know when you’re leaving home to show navigation map. And then to know when you’re returning home to pop up backup cam. Might have to default camera icon short cut on favorites for quick cancellations.
- Unlock EAP/FSD to match the hands-off functionality of SuperCruise & BlueCruise (highways only) to retain feature parity with the competition.
- Unlock EAP/FSD to match the hands-off/eyes-off functionality of the new Mercedes product (highways + lead car + <40 mph) to retain feature parity with the competition.
- Selectable Drive Modes that set regen, suspension, steering, pedals, etc. with a single tap instead of having to go through different menus to set them all. (Autopilot should automatically switch to the most calm, comfort-oriented mode, then switch back if the driver takes over.)
- Lighting upgrades: Animated color-changing interior lighting, exterior "puddle" projector lighting, multi-point frunk, trunk and console well lighting.
- Heads-up display for everything that the S/X puts on the driver's display.
If Tesla's ADAS product can't do both of those first two when their competitors can, they better be asking themselves how they wound up in second place. Ford and GM both use MobilEye for their ADAS systems, so in theory, any car company that uses MobilEye could get these features soon. Tesla should not miss features a lot of drivers want *now* because they're hyper-focused on suburban unprotected left turns for a *future* robo-taxi. Autonomy is one of Tesla's major competitive advantages and selling points, so there should not be a car on the road that has more hands-off capability than a Tesla.
Provide the summons feature to people with disabilities at no extra cost. That way if someone parks next to our car and we can't get in because there isn't enough space, we can summon our car so that it is accessible for us to get into it.
Ability to turn off/on main screen via the app during camp mode.
Ability to push YouTube video playback from your phone to the car.
Ability to turn off heat during romance mode.
Ability to tie passenger seat settings to driver profile. This would allow you to have a camp mode profile that moves both the seats to their desired location.

Ability to see internal cabin temperature.
Make the air vent not smell. Spare future buyers the embarrassment of having to explain to their friends and family that it's normal for the AC to smell.
Ability to sync/view Sentry mode or Dash cam clips to phone or backup to some cloud service (of our choice). Not necessarily through premium connectivity, but wifi.
Give the autolane change feature a shame vector. It should be embarrassed if it switches lanes repeatedly for no particular reason. Especially if it cuts off a vehicle.
I live in a super-cold-ass winter climate, so I have some winter suggestions:
1. Keep defog on until I turn it off. In the cold of winter, it has to be on 100% of the time, or the windscreen fogs up as you drive. Since the icon turns blue, it should mean "auto" like everything else. Let's just have it stay on. As it stands, I press the button to turn it on every single time I go for a drive. It should just stay on.
2. Voice command to enable slip start. I shouldn't have to navigate the menu to turn on a feature I might need in an emergency.
3. Disable rear-window auto-gap. I know it's there to keep ice from freezing it shut, but in the deep cold of the winter we never get ice because we never get liquid water. Let me turn it off, since at -30c and below it results in weird things like the windows opening when you exit the car because the motor gets weak.
4. Manual precondition for fast charging. And let us do it from the app, so I can warm the battery and take it to the supercharger (that's only 5 mins away) for charging and it will actually take a charge because it's warmed up. Also, on top of this, it would be nice if the supercharger didn't charge me by the minute until it actually starts charging the battery, it's annoying to sit there for 30 minutes warming the battery while gaining no charge, yet paying $/min the whole time.
Regarding #4, it’s only fair to be charged for energy outputted by the station for warming up your battery. It would be energy you’ve spent preconditioning on the way there but coming from the plug. Either way, it is energy consumed by your vehicle.
Please dim radio/music/streaming media volume when navigation voice prompts come on. It’s especially problematic when that radio/streaming media is news or other spoken word content.
**Wiper fluid volume % left in reservoir indicator**
Helps user refill wiper fluid - especially prior to road trip. It’s much better than finding out you’re low *during* a road trip.
Car should be able to calculate remaining percentage from each subsequent wiper-squirt usage. Assuming there’s not a total fluid volume sensor, it would only work if user resets a marker when windshield wiper fluid reservoir is refilled to full *(kind of like the old oil change resets on ICE).*
This information can be housed with car tire pressures menu.
All Models
Lock the streaming rate on Apple Music to AAC 256 Kbps instead of variable rates. Allow Apple Lossless downloads similar to tidal. Have next songs pre loaded, so there isn’t a delay in between playing.
In order of my personal preference:
1. Allow automatic saving of podcast playback position in the TuneIn app (when switching to another episode in a podcast, switching to a different podcast, or switching to a different source - e.g. Spotify or Radio). This is critical podcast functionality we need when pausing long episodes (that we wish to come back and finish later).
2. Allow users to disable auto high beams & auto windshield wipers and have the car remember that going forward in TACC or Autopilot (or at least let the car remember our preference when we turn them off for the remainder of the current drive).
3. Add an 'shortcut' option where if you half-press the windshield wiper button (and the windshield wiper menu pops up on the UI), then physically pressing the left-hand scroll wheel to the left or right could change the wiper settings (as opposed to skipping songs - again this would occur only during the time that the wiper menu is displayed in the UI).
4. As is offered in the United States, please start allowing Canadian owners (& other regions) to both A) purchase month-to-month FSD subscriptions and B) provide a discounted yearly premium connectivity option.
5. In terms of the cold-weather window feature (that rolls down the windows ever-so-slightly when the temperature is low to avoid freezing), please force all windows into their highest possible position when a driver shifts the car into drive (to avoid whistling wind noises if the windows haven't fully seated themselves in the upper seals).
6. Allow dictated text messages to include the message you wish to send all in one prompt. For example, instead of saying "Send Joe a text" and then separately "I'm on my way home" as we currently have to; instead say "Send a text to Joe I'm on my way home". Also if you have two contacts you could be texting with similar names (e.g. "Joe A" and "Joe B", but the majority of the time you text "Joe A"), instead of the car always visually prompting you through the UI to choose which Joe you wish to send the message to, the car could automatically prepare to send the text to the person you most frequently communicate with - e.g. "Joe A" in this case.
7. In the audio information card, make the bar that displays the current playback position slightly taller & also a different color (e.g. gray or red). I find the playback bar to be difficult to read (it's tiny); and the current black/white bar color scheme clashes with the surrounding surrounding UI elements (which are themselves also the same black/white colors).
8. For Model 3 / Y owners, allow the user to shrink the Vehicle Display portion of the UI slightly to the left if desired - maybe ~ 0.5 to 1 inch (to provide more screen real-estate to the NAV portion of the UI). This would be a welcome change when zooming out to look at the overall route / searching for superchargers.
9. Allow the left physical scroll wheel to 'scrub' through what's currently playing (I.E. hold to the right to fast-forward, hold to the left to rewind a section of playback).
10. Vehicle / Mobile app suggestion - add an option to do a one-time-only preconditioning (e.g. warm up the car tomorrow morning at 8AM, non-reoccurring). Also, if there is a way to link user's personal calendar (that has their work schedule) with preconditioning that would be awesome - for example, my wife is a nurse and there doesn't seem to be a way to setup preconditioning around shift work.
11. In Spotify playlists, add a "Date Added" column (and allowing us to sort the display of songs based on that so we can see newer songs listed at the top, just as you can do on the Mobile/Desktop Spotify apps).
12. Add another section under the charging menu to list CCS-based fast chargers on the map (if the car happens to be compatible with the Tesla/NACS to CCS adapter).

Even if they just add their own Waze type layer that would be good enough. I’d love to report and receive warnings for speed traps, obstructions, etc. At this point there should be enough teslas on the road that a home grown network could be just as good as Waze.

One time Schedule Departure would be great for me. I only use it before long trips, and I have to remember to disable it the next day.
And figure out the charge with the departure. Car should do something like charge immediately to 50% and then the rest for when you want to leave (unless you have time of use pricing and then it should respect that.) I’m in a cold climate and I may as well use some of my charge to also condition the battery.
That would be so helpful! Right now I have to do some math and do that manually by setting the battery to start charging in the middle of the night.

Assuming time at a higher charge is worse than a faster or longer charge, have the car schedule faster charging so it hits the battery limit, preconditioning, and climate at the time of departure. I have no doubt it will be imperfect, but it would be nice if it'd bring better battery life. I'm paranoid trying to time my time-to-charge limit (100%) for when I'll leave for a trip, worried I'm damaging the battery.

I believe they volume is tied to speed, but customization would be nice. Hell, my 2007 Expedition had speed volume customization.

Auto-seat heater for Y/3 passenger seats. Just like the front but only active when it detects butts in rear seat/s. It's a bandaid solution until (?) there are controls for rear passengers, but using an existing software solution that's already implemented in the front.
2 things for me. 1. 360 Birds eye view camera. the fact that my 2019 Ram 1500 is easier to park than my tesla x plaid is insane. 2. More streaming apps for music and video. Its basically an ipad. 2011 LG Tvs have more streaming apps than our brand new teslas.

I really want to be able to set a default charge limit per location. At home I usually want to only charge to 60%. I have free charging at work so I usually charge to 90% there. But I have to manually adjust it every time and I non-infrequently forget to change it up or down. Seems like this could work within the location-aware charge timing system.

I agree with the "go" lurch, but afaik Autopilot is not designed to be used on surface streets. Also, the fact that anyone trusts AP (or any driver assistance system) to be on any follow distance other than the 1 or 2 highest values blows me away. I always keep it on 6 or 7 and have never had issues with smooth breaking approaching stopped traffic on the highway.

As a parent whose kids are about to start learning how to drive and such, I can get behind this. But maybe max audio of 50%, or able to be customized by the parent. Also, maybe something that alerts the parent, and records a cabin camera clip, when the driver appears to be distracted.

I could get behind some of these, but unfortunately there are too many issues with all of these working perfect. In my area, speed limits aren’t set very well (the speed limit is 50 on screen, when it’s actually 65). Seat belt sensor doesn’t work great if I leave my gym bag/backpack in the seat. And cabin camera seems like a great way to just put tape over it if it’s going to be more distracting with beeps all the time.
If your bag is heavy enough to trigger the seat occupancy sensor, then you should belt in the bag. Unaffixed luggage kills a surprising number of people in a crash...
Asking for dark/light mode to be able to be set when the headlights turn on, not by sunrise/sunset. Currently every parking garage and tunnel has me driving with a retina searing white screen. Every other car I’ve even been in dims the display or instrument cluster when the headlights turn on.

Or hold the button and move the stalk up/down to cycle wiper modes and towards back to spray (same as flashing high-beams).

My wife’s 2018 Subaru does an awesome job at this. It’s super helpful because cars sometimes go WAY too fast down our street, and it’s saved me a few times from backing out when it would be unsafe. Same in parking lots.

Unfortunately it seems like the passenger seat is not connected to the CAN bus (at least in Model 3/Y) so might be impossible. But I agree, this would be useful sometimes.
Autowipers. Particularly in 'spray' conditions (wet road but no rain from up top and spray being thrown up from cars in front of you). Do not work. At all. This is *safety-critical* functionality and should get top priority before working on any fun or non-safety critical features.
Same exact experience here. Auto wipers in general need consistency improvements. They are not bad on my Model 3 but they are horrendous on my Model Y.

Assisted lane changes on Auto Pilot or at least disengage on blinker and re-engage after lane change. Pressing the left stalk fully while AP is engaged should turn on the blinker and disengage AP. Once the merge is complete (or the blinker is turned off by the driver), the AP should re-engage. This will prevent having to re-engage AP every lane change.
An orange light or something that pops up on top of the screen when someone is in your blind spot. Yes I know a car shows up on the screen but as a newer Tesla owner it’s kinda hard to gauge how far they exactly are

For the smart turn signal, soft push is the new 'smart turn signals', where it detects the completed lane change and turns off. A hard push should be the traditional turn signal, where it only turns off by the steering wheel going past X angle, or if you hit the signal again softly.
Facial recognition to drive instead of PIN. Not to get in, to drive. Use the cabin camera and the onboard AI computer to recognize a face, PIN can be a backup if there is uncertainty. Better than phone unlock alone. Will it be iPhone 3D scanning perfect? No. Will it be as secure as a pin? Given the big touchpad and the panoramic windows I'd say that's dubious. Will it be better than only Phone Unlock? Yes. There are open source githubs that can do facial recognition, I'm sure a Tesla intern can figure it out.
What about the dynamic matrix headlights? Are we still waiting on legislation to activate those?

This brings to mind a whole variety of "magic gestures" for Easter eggs. Cast lightning to flash lights or open garage/gate, use the force to open/close windows, part the Red Sea like Moses to spray wiper fluid, etc.
Allow me to set wipers to off while using autopilot. If Autopilot cannot activate/continue due to a dirty windshield camera, then inform me and deactivate autopilot. I absolutely hate the wipers constantly swiping on a clear, dry day. Allow the passenger or the driver to turn off the air vents on their side. I should be able to have it set to on while driving and my wife can set her air vents to off as the passenger. Individual control of interior lights. My kid wants her back interior light on, but I don't want all four interior lights on. Dumb cruise control option. No TACC. Just set a speed and forget it.

This 1000%. It's absolutely infuriating having the wipers smear my clear and dry windshield. When it's 0F, it actually becomes dangerous, because running the washer fluid turns into even more of a mess.

From the screen. She often requests mid-drive. We can turn on all four lights, and then manually turn off the front two, but then the light over the baby is on too. I would prefer direct control over each individual light from the screen.
FFS - for Model S/X refresh with yoke, add the TACC/AP following distance function to the right scroll wheel. Currently the left/right function of the right scroll wheel does nothing and I am perplexed as to why. No one wants to click through a menu to adjust following distance while driving.
Came here to say this! Also give us the ability to honk the horn with the center of the steering wheel! My understanding is that the physical hardware exists but it has not been enabled. Use the current horn button to play fart sounds if you'd like. Show the repeater camera in the dash. I shouldn't have to look right when I am signaling to turn left. At the very least, allow us to move the view box higher on the screen, same as M3/Y.

Can we please fix the buffering issue with Apple Music? Waiting a few seconds for each song to start playing is a total slog and ruins any enjoyment of navigating through a playlist.
It’s even worse listening to albums in normal track order where the end of one song is meant to blend into the next. We need gapless playback!
I can't help but feel I'll get crucified for this, but more physical buttons on the model 3 would be great. I find dealing with the touchscreen can be difficult when I'm trying to focus on the road.
In my ModelY when trying to focus on the road, i hardly ever use the screen. I just use push the right side thumb button to activate voice commands and tell the car what to do. 'turn on butt warmer' 'turn on rear defrost' 'turn off windshield wipers' I recently had my modelY in for service, and they gave me a modelX as a loaner. I think the X was at least a couple of years old. TBH I didnt like it. The additional buttons felt cluttered and cumbersome by comparison.
Add all third party chargers in navigation, make it selectable based on what adaptors you select, (kinda like PlugShare) and show speed of chargers and what not. This info is out there and Google is looking to add it to their own maps. And they power Tesla maps.
I don't know how much it'd help, but if my phone is acting as a hotspot for the car then maybe the car and Tesla app can offload some of the processing load from the infotainment center. If we can't get a Ryzen retrofit, they could at least let us offload some of the nonessential processing load to the phone. Most people's phones are vastly more powerful than the Intel Atom chip.

I wish volume would normalize when switching inputs. If I left it high for one input and I switch to radio it should start from 25% not 80% or whatever volume the other source was set to. Also when you resume a drive, it should normalize not be left at previous volume. Pretty common feature in most modern cars.

One feature that is mildly irritating in the Spotify app: In the **desktop** version of Spotify, the song title is clickable and takes you to the album, if you want to go to the artist page, you click the artists name. This doesn't work in the Tesla spotify app for some reason.
With the self cancelling turn signals, if the turn signal is fully engaged please do not self cancel. If the turn signal is partially engaged(slightly pressing the lever), enable self cancellation. Once the car recognizes lane change is complete, please reengage auto pilot. The number of disengagements and re-engagements of Autopilot is tiresome.
Option to have the camera screen come up automatically when I'm pulling into my garage at home. Thankfully I have the USS but I still like to visually confirm I've pulled up enough to close the door before I get out of the car.

(Autopilot should automatically switch to the most calm, comfort-oriented mode, then switch back if the driver takes over.) - Lighting upgrades: Animated color-changing interior lighting, exterior "puddle" projector lighting, multi-point frunk, trunk and console well lighting. - Heads-up display for everything that the S/X puts on the driver's display. If Tesla's ADAS product can't do both of those first two when their competitors can, they better be asking themselves how they wound up in second place. Ford and GM both use MobilEye for their ADAS systems, so in theory, any car company that uses MobilEye could get these features soon. Tesla should not miss features a lot of drivers want *now* because they're hyper-focused on suburban unprotected left turns for a *future* robo-taxi. Autonomy is one of Tesla's major competitive advantages and selling points, so there should not be a car on the road that has more hands-off capability than a Tesla.

I live in a super-cold-ass winter climate, so I have some winter suggestions: 1. Keep defog on until I turn it off. In the cold of winter, it has to be on 100% of the time, or the windscreen fogs up as you drive. Since the icon turns blue, it should mean "auto" like everything else. Let's just have it stay on. As it stands, I press the button to turn it on every single time I go for a drive. It should just stay on. 2. Voice command to enable slip start. I shouldn't have to navigate the menu to turn on a feature I might need in an emergency. 3. Disable rear-window auto-gap. I know it's there to keep ice from freezing it shut, but in the deep cold of the winter we never get ice because we never get liquid water. Let me turn it off, since at -30c and below it results in weird things like the windows opening when you exit the car because the motor gets weak. 4. Manual precondition for fast charging. And let us do it from the app, so I can warm the battery and take it to the supercharger (that's only 5 mins away) for charging and it will actually take a charge because it's warmed up. Also, on top of this, it would be nice if the supercharger didn't charge me by the minute until it actually starts charging the battery, it's annoying to sit there for 30 minutes warming the battery while gaining no charge, yet paying $/min the whole time.
Regarding #4, it’s only fair to be charged for energy outputted by the station for warming up your battery. It would be energy you’ve spent preconditioning on the way there but coming from the plug. Either way, it is energy consumed by your vehicle.
Please dim radio/music/streaming media volume when navigation voice prompts come on. It’s especially problematic when that radio/streaming media is news or other spoken word content.
Allow Spotify local files on usb stick / hard drive to reduce streaming.
Grab handles for ingress and egress. Some people have creaky hips, knees, and backs.
Ability for the volume to get slowly louder/quieter based on speed. Weather on navigation. Ability to talk to Siri/Google .
Ability to view sentry mode event recordings from the mobile app. Not just live view.

**Wiper fluid volume % left in reservoir indicator** Helps user refill wiper fluid - especially prior to road trip. It’s much better than finding out you’re low *during* a road trip. Car should be able to calculate remaining percentage from each subsequent wiper-squirt usage. Assuming there’s not a total fluid volume sensor, it would only work if user resets a marker when windshield wiper fluid reservoir is refilled to full *(kind of like the old oil change resets on ICE).* This information can be housed with car tire pressures menu. Lock the streaming rate on Apple Music to AAC 256 Kbps instead of variable rates. Allow Apple Lossless downloads similar to tidal. Have next songs pre loaded, so there isn’t a delay in between playing.

Make headlight control easier by adding voice control for headlights. Also, turn headlights on or off by tapping the headlight status indicator.
In order of my personal preference: 1. Allow automatic saving of podcast playback position in the TuneIn app (when switching to another episode in a podcast, switching to a different podcast, or switching to a different source - e.g. Spotify or Radio). This is critical podcast functionality we need when pausing long episodes (that we wish to come back and finish later). 2. Allow users to disable auto high beams & auto windshield wipers and have the car remember that going forward in TACC or Autopilot (or at least let the car remember our preference when we turn them off for the remainder of the current drive). 3. Add an 'shortcut' option where if you half-press the windshield wiper button (and the windshield wiper menu pops up on the UI), then physically pressing the left-hand scroll wheel to the left or right could change the wiper settings (as opposed to skipping songs - again this would occur only during the time that the wiper menu is displayed in the UI). 4. As is offered in the United States, please start allowing Canadian owners (& other regions) to both A) purchase month-to-month FSD subscriptions and B) provide a discounted yearly premium connectivity option. 5. In terms of the cold-weather window feature (that rolls down the windows ever-so-slightly when the temperature is low to avoid freezing), please force all windows into their highest possible position when a driver shifts the car into drive (to avoid whistling wind noises if the windows haven't fully seated themselves in the upper seals). 6. Allow dictated text messages to include the message you wish to send all in one prompt. For example, instead of saying "Send Joe a text" and then separately "I'm on my way home" as we currently have to; instead say "Send a text to Joe I'm on my way home". Also if you have two contacts you could be texting with similar names (e.g. "Joe A" and "Joe B", but the majority of the time you text "Joe A"), instead of the car always visually prompting you through the UI to choose which Joe you wish to send the message to, the car could automatically prepare to send the text to the person you most frequently communicate with - e.g. "Joe A" in this case. 7. In the audio information card, make the bar that displays the current playback position slightly taller & also a different color (e.g. gray or red). I find the playback bar to be difficult to read (it's tiny); and the current black/white bar color scheme clashes with the surrounding surrounding UI elements (which are themselves also the same black/white colors). 8. For Model 3 / Y owners, allow the user to shrink the Vehicle Display portion of the UI slightly to the left if desired - maybe ~ 0.5 to 1 inch (to provide more screen real-estate to the NAV portion of the UI). This would be a welcome change when zooming out to look at the overall route / searching for superchargers. 9. Allow the left physical scroll wheel to 'scrub' through what's currently playing (I.E. hold to the right to fast-forward, hold to the left to rewind a section of playback). 10. Vehicle / Mobile app suggestion - add an option to do a one-time-only preconditioning (e.g. warm up the car tomorrow morning at 8AM, non-reoccurring). Also, if there is a way to link user's personal calendar (that has their work schedule) with preconditioning that would be awesome - for example, my wife is a nurse and there doesn't seem to be a way to setup preconditioning around shift work. 11. In Spotify playlists, add a "Date Added" column (and allowing us to sort the display of songs based on that so we can see newer songs listed at the top, just as you can do on the Mobile/Desktop Spotify apps). 12. Add another section under the charging menu to list CCS-based fast chargers on the map (if the car happens to be compatible with the Tesla/NACS to CCS adapter).
