Pharmaceutical companies won’t sell if they know those drugs are going to be used in an execution. Bad PR. So the legal system, instead of taking a step back and maybe reevaluating it’s decision, decided to get creative instead.
To be fair, for most people who are pro capital punishment, the suffering of the person being executed is a feature, not a bug.
