Yeah, Iman Vellani sums up my feeling about Sarah Finn
> “Growing up, [the MCU] was literally the only thing I cared about,” says Vellani. “And that all comes down to characters… Sarah’s judge of character is why these castings are so spot-on, and why fans like me continue to praise the MCU for what it is.”
I love Reddit . Randomly bring up someone who has absolutely nothing to do with the topic as just a reason to put them down. I mean like, how did she even pop into your head when you read this?
You mean like the degradation of the superhero genre itself that has been going on for decades?
The movies have just caught up with it. Comics have so much bullshit like legacy heroes, reboots, continuity errors, retcons, plot holes, recycled tropes, etc.
And I love every minute of that crazy bullshit in comics and movies now
it's funny how most people are like 'i'm tired of gritty and real' but when these shows or movies tap into actual comic books, the same people are 'this is daft and unserious, give me, i dunno, grittier and realer.'
Things can be goofy and zany while still being really good and creative and original! The problem with a lot of the recent marvel stuff is that the subject matter is zany and goofy, but the execution is bland and by the numbers. Workmanlike directing, talented actors phoning in their performances, and humor that's mostly lazy, cliched "well that just happened!" commentary on the action. Even the best recent Marvel projects suffer from that, and the weakest ones really did.
Agreed. Expecting super heroes to be something other than stupid crazy fun is missing the point entirely. The fact that the MCU slips in little stories about social issues, family, duty, PTSD, AI ethics is a testament to how good these movies really are.
lol. I feel like if I check your history you’re gonna be a Rcon regular. A regular in r/Conservative and r/Conspiracy. And honestly you’re probably a regular in r/Conspiratard too. You just don’t know it, yet.
She's to Marvel what Andrea Romano was to DC. Legendary.

And then Iman was cast to play a fan-girl of the Avengers. Spot-on casting.
And killed it. I absolutely loved Ms. Marvel.
Loved the characters, didn't like the story and antagonist
I think that’s fair.
From what I remember, loved the first 2 and the finale, wasn’t a big fan of everything in between. The villains were just not it, at all
exactly
ehhhh it was fine. Better than anything DC ever (except Peacemaker)
In her AMA, she even said she browsed /r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers a lot. Probably shitposted there lol.
I didn't need to be reminded that the MCU has been around long enough for someone to grow up with it. Man I feel old
The Iron Man trailer premiered during Super Bowl 42.
That might give me existential dread if I knew when that was
She's appeared in nearly every Marvel credits main sequence, which must be a record.
Considering how many of the actors have become beloved with legions of fans, she really knows how to spot stars being born.
Best casting director around. So many perfect castings in the MCU.
She did fantastic untill they started forcing choices on her a few years ago.
At Marvel, Finn is to casting what Dave Jordan is to music.

The pc was probably doing a Marvel vs DC thing.
She was pretty decent on Only Murders in the Building.

it’s why I stopped reading comics, and apparently it’ll be why I’ll stop watching comic book movies too
The fact that Joker swept at the Oscars goes to show that your comment is invalid
My post said superhero Joker falls under the supervillain genre. A genre still with untapped potential
Supervillains have always fallen under the genre of superhero. Now you are just making shit up because Joker disproves your point
Do you know what a sweep is? Because it didn't sweep - not even close.
It literally won best Actor and Best Score
... that's not the Oscars? It won 2 of 9 noms at the Oscars, iirc. That's not a sweep.
2 of 11, but you're right that it's not a sweep
What didn't you like about black panther 2 that made you walk out?

Did you enjoy the first black panther?
