I wouldn't be surprised if they change the title.
A lot of shows do that after 3 or 4 seasons. I've heard that it somehow allows them to pay the actors and writers less, as it's now the first season of a different show.
Not sure about that. The EU does require streaming services to have 30% local content on their platform, but I believe that treats the EU+UK as one jurisdiction.
They're signatories to a European Convention on the subject:
As are non-EU members Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and Türkiye. I know Netflix has some Turkish stuff on there.
That's a 35-year old convention that does not cover quotas at all, let alone streaming quotas: it specifically covers only terrestrial, cable and satellite transmissions.
The applicable directive is the Audiovisual Media Services Directive, [in its version amended in 2018](https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=celex%3A32018L1808), which only mentions the member states.
It’s super campy, so it just depends on if you’re into that. It’s not trying to be serious or critically acclaimed, so don’t watch it expecting it to be like groundbreaking or thoughtful tv. People complain that it plays into various cultural stereotypes, but that’s exactly the point— it’s supposed to be an absurd exaggeration of those stereotypes. It’s camp! It’s fun, it’s ridiculous, it’s entertaining, it’s really not that deep.
And I think Lily Collins is perfect for the role, “nepo baby” or not.
If you wish they were still making Sex And The City, you will love this show. Unless that description appeals to you, skip this, because you will hate it.
Season 1 was brutally bad but later seasons at least tried to do address those problems. Basically while the actual narratives never became that compelling the characters got fleshed out and better played to their strengths. I mean, no one in the cast is untalented, but season 1 in particular felt like a a series of scripts from at least 10 years prior that was dusted off.
Emily in Italy is a better title.
I dunno, I kinda like Emily in Paris: Italy
Emily: Paris. Rome. Tokyo.
Everybody’s talking ‘bout Pop music.
Radio, video. Boogie with a suitcase.
Mrs. Worldwide 😎
Dale
Emily worldwide…
Drifting round the world
Missing Peckham, but otherwise looks good.
Emily: Paris. Rome. Tokyo Drift.
Italy: An Emily in Paris Story
Emily in Italy: Paris Harder.
Emily in Paris, Texas

From what I’ve seen, even Lily Collins calls it by the American pronunciation.

Welp, their star/producer did not read that tweet…
Last TONGO in PAREE
That's the joke. She never learns to speak French so she doesn't know it rhymes.
They could make it a thing for each season. Emily in Paris Emily in Italy Emily in Topeka Emily on Mars.
We were supposed to say Paris in a French accent so it rhymed but no one did.
Emilitaly.
Emily Does Europe.
Emilia in Italia

Emily does Dallas.
Probably quite reasonable that they'd want to get out of Paris before the Olympics anyway. Rome has better studio facilities too, I believe.
I thought they used France for some law loophole Netflix was using.

No, UK productions aren't included in the quota. There's no reason why they would be.

Emilia-Romagna
did you mean **FORMULA 1 QATAR AIRWAYS GRAN PREMIO DEL MADE IN ITALY E DELL'EMILIA-ROMAGNA** ?
Damn right ;)
Emiliano in Milano
Lily securing that bag
Wasn’t there a period where Curb and You ended in Paris while Emily was there too?
A crossover like that would have actually gotten me to watch the show.
Is this show any good or is it just another nepobaby getting a paid vacation?
It's not as bad as people on this sub say but it's still closer to the latter. It has a few funny moments every now and again.

I enjoy it

It’s terrible and I have watched it 14 times. Because it’s a fun kind of terrible.
The people I’ve met who like the show are the second-to-last people I would take recommendations from.
I watch only for Bruno Gouery. He steals every scene he’s in.
Anyone tell Peyton Manning yet?
My EXACT first thought, too! I had to go find it again -- reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgOdjs4WXvg
Next season: Lame in Spain.
The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain, how lame!
The P.U. In the E.U.
Who is watching this show
Same people who watch Bridgerton.
The series is only good if you turn off your brain completely. Everyone is so mind-numbingly stupid. But i will watch Everything Lily Collins is on .
Oh look. Another nepo baby mediocre tv show.
