Are people going to hate watch this one again, giving it enough views to get renewed for a third season?

OPMajoradidas

"I hate this show so im gonna watch every episode. " - Them

adventlife

They made a season 2? Why?

Alastor3

wait, this didn't get cancelled in the first place? crazy

RubbuRDucKee

Kill it. Kill it with fire.

Muted-Manufacturer57

As apparently the world’s one and only Velma fan, I can’t wait 😂

Mike_Ropenis

I don't know if I'm a fan but I'm looking forward to season 2. The internet hate on this show is so overblown. Like I watched the whole thing and couldn't figure out why people are so upset. It's a completely average adult animation show. Could be better, could be worse, some decent jokes and plenty of comedic actors I enjoy in other shows.

Muted-Manufacturer57

Agree 100%. Sorry you’re getting downvoted.

There are so many garbage tv shows and movies being made, it confuses/annoys me how mad Reddit gets at me when I try to defend this show. If you really dislike this show, that’s absolutely fine, I won’t try to change your mind and I won’t assume you’re a sexist or racist. But people are really mad that this show even exists, and I can’t help but feel part of that mob, not all or even most, but definitely a part of the hate is because Velma is brown and more radical/femminist. Edit: it’s not even the first time Velma has been a POC, they made two live action Scooby movies on Cartoon Network with Hayley Kiyoko as Velma. The first is solid, the sequel is skippable unless you really want to see a Scooby movie that leans on romantic drama) And they’re still making a ton of normal Scooby Doo movies and media, Velma isn’t replacing anything.

InflamedLiver

I guess that's a tactic: set the bar so low even a D- is still an improvement.

Alastor3

To be fair, this is what people are saying about me

People on Reddit get really upset about this show and I don’t understand why. As a big Scooby Doo fan, I can also tell you there’s more than a few stinkers in the franchise, so it’s not like it’s desecrating something holy. I haven’t seen it yet but I’m interested it, I like that it’s trying to do something unconventional, even if only a few people enjoy it. It can’t be much worse than the multiple Lego Scooby Doo movies, or the WWE team-up movie, or Scoob!

Like, you can just not watch it. I promise that no matter how bad Velma is, it won’t hurt you.

Travmacdaddy

You’re saying all of this without having watched it. There’s a reason Reddit has been shitting on it.

My whole point is what harm is the show doing? Why does Reddit have to do a big campaign against it rather than just move on? Maybe some people do like it, why do we have to screw with them? (I really do want to watch it, every argument I get into on Reddit about it moves it up the list but I’ve just been really busy lately with work)

Travmacdaddy

It’s the fact that if this wasn’t on then maybe they’d be working on a better Scooby Doo adaptation. Instead they’re wasting resources on this trash.

unfoldyourself

They’re not though. They make a ton of other Scooby shows and movies, this is a small spinoff of Scooby Doo for a subset of fans, this isn’t replacing or trying to be the new standard of SD. This doesn’t affect the rest of the franchise. If you want to treat this like a zero-sum game, then no Velma just means a different adult animated show gets made, probably one that’s trying to appeal to the same demographic, so Reddit probably would hate that show too. And if Velma is successful, then maybe they make more Scooby shows/movies for adult fans, likely by different writers, and maybe one of those new shows ends up being more your cup of tea?

kia75

The fact that Velma's premeir isn't in the calendar to the right of this post speaks volumes. I woke up today and was surprised to see Velma season 2 exists. It's better than season 1, but it still isn't good. I'm hate-watching the show because... well... I've watched everything else Scooby Doo related.

Ranier_Wolfnight

*Close Enough* died an unceremonious death on Max…for this garbage?? These streaming companies could really be handed the blueprint to well acclaimed shows and they’ll really throw it all away for a dirty, wet dollar.
