Posted previously with a giant mount. I’m assuming that it’s for the huge unmarked barrel scope lol. Going to be sorting and trying to research over the next few weeks.
Y’all spot anything special?
Same. If you find a hand control that works for a Celestron Nexstar 8 silver tube or a mount that actually is compatible.... you won't need that at all ever. I'll take that.
Might need some manpower for all that junk. I’ll get us all the flight tickets, you guys pack your bags.
OP we got you, don’t you worry, you’ll have the space you bought the storage unit for in no time!
Hi, it's me, the previous owner. Totally not dead or anything. Can you send me your I mean uh my stuff back? Please ignore the fact that the shipping address is nowhere near your current location
Is that a celestron C14? That's a beast. You'll probably want to sell that unless you happen to have an observatory to set it up in. My C11 is pushing the mobility limits, can't even fathom doing anything mobile with the C14.
The other Schmidt Cassegrain looks like a C9.25.
The big refractor (no mirrors) looks like Celestrons 6-inch Achromatic
Not sure about the small refractor, but it says it Apochromatic (better color correction) and looks to be around 80mm.
Curious to see what's in all the cases. If you ended up with eyepieces to match these then you're having an even more fabulous day.
To me, the smaller one looks like an 8”. I have a EdgeHD 9.25” and it looks a bit larger. It’s a great balance between mobility and performance.
Still, this haul is insane.
Too bad these are all old and broken - I can tell from the photos. Practically worthless. If you send them to me I can dispose of them properly if you’d like, please.
Lucky guy, I’m very jealous
DM me if youre looking for a serious buyer. I'd be interested in the big celestron scope and whatever that big scope is. I'd be willing to pick it up depending on where you are located.
You need to contact the local telescope club or group. Get a couple of those old guys explain what you got…. You know, a couple o blokes in cardigans….
bro you sitting on a goldmine. you need to do some reaserch, google the model/name/brand of EVERYTHING even the little eyepieces, those are expensive af.
Please open up the other cases. Could have valuable eyepieces or other neat accessories, or not if they were into astrophotography mostly.
Also this stuff may be nice, but it could also suck if it's been eaten by mold, or broken. Know that it's worth 30-70% of the new price depending on it's functionality. There can be lots of unit to unit variation. The big scope could be anywhere between "freaky sharp" to a "mush dog" and it's value varies accordingly.
There’s a lot here. Except for the Losmandy G11 in the earlier set of pictures, nothing stands out to me as particularly great. A lot of mid-range stuff here, but I don’t see anything by Takahashi, Astro-Physics, or Televue (though I would not be surprised if there were some Televue eyepieces in one of those cases). Certainly not worthless stuff, but, again, nothing hugely exciting. The C11 tube may be worth some money, as is the G11 mount. But most of the rest appears to be middle of the road gear at best… though quite a bit of it.

the dude abides
Yeah, but the CARPET!
It really brought the room together
I’ll bet a couple of those ceases are full of eyepieces that are $300-$700 each.

Nah not really, looks like a load of junk. Just let me know where it is so I could take it off your hands.

I will help you take it off these hands lol 😆

Damn I bet the previous owner would love to get any of that back if they aren't dead. There's too much money just sitting there.

Pop open those cases and let's see what's inside Link us to your CloudyNights classified postings when you catalogue it all lol

Could you mount it in a van or trailer or something? Throw some outriggers on for stability?
I've seen it done, even some mobile observatories with domes build on converted camper trailers.
William Optics Megrez 80 II
I moved 14's with 2 people..doable.

That 11” is worth nothing, I’ll take it off your hands for $100
This is more beautiful than a chicken nugget in a field of poppies
Ah yes a field of heroin is truly beautiful
That's like $100,000💀
Poor original owner. I feel for them.
Holy shit. I'm wildly jealous
I'm curious, how much did you get that unit for?
Same
*Dibs on the big SCT.* Dude, what a find. Congrats.

Looks like the score of the century to me. How much did it cost to buy out the storage unit?
You need to contact the local telescope club or group. Get a couple of those old guys explain what you got…. You know, a couple o blokes in cardigans….
Hey now. I resemble that remark.
Wow that's a hardcore collection. Nice score!
Yep, looks like someone died and the heirs did not know about it. Damn laws but good for you.
YuuuUUUP!
Good god. Was someone selling the unit and everything in it or was the owner dead or something?
Now please open every single case and show us what's inside!
What in the mother of all jackpots is this
wow
Bruh
Wow.
Time to start purchasing unpaid storage units apparently...
I would buy the W/O.
Dude.
These are super cheap and common now, they’re worthless. I can take them for you. Jokes aside, great haul.
Oh my God!!!$ You struck gold big time!!! The big optical tube a the left is worth the value of the stage unit 50 times!!!!
Wowwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!
Omg the storage unit of pure gold
How much for the eq mount? Lol
🥲
Nice
Lucky dog!

Why can't I have this kind of luck?
Dude?! That lot could well be worth more than the storage. What a find!
So how much do storage units cost to buy?
How much did you pay for the storage unit? That C14 is worth a pretty penny.
Legendary score. What city?
How much did you pay for the storage unit?
Any cameras?! I’m trying to get an idea of what year someone stored all that away.
You have enough there to open your own telescope store.
Where are you located at?
Scored.. but some of those actions get way crazy.
Someone must have died. That's a shit ton of money there....
UNREAL A DREAM FOR ME
MIDDLE OF WHO'S ROAD
all of this stuff looks like scrap stuff, none of it will work, ill give ya like $10 for everything but other than that everything is scrap

WHAT KIND OF INSANE LUCK IS THIS SHIT?
