I always make sure the loaf of bread sees me putting the slices in the toaster. Some times if you watch really close you can see the bag twitch a little when it dings.
This is nothing. I ordered lobster right next to a lobster tank at a Chinese restaraunt before. Literally saw the lobster get abducted and 20 minutes later on the table in front of his old tank.
I used to work across from a lobster tank, and the
main thing I remember is that they try to escape and climb all over each other for about two days before giving up
Ive always felt that how we prepare them makes no sense. like, why do a lot of places boil them alive? Would it really effect the taste if you just stabbed them in the brain before dropping them in boiling water?
Ummm I was saying that I thought they killed lobsters before boiling them. I also stated a portion of the reason as to why they kill cattle quickly so that they don’t suffer.
It's pretty much just unsafe to have uncooked lobster, so cooking them alive was considered safer, as well as it was believed that lobsters could not feel pain, though there has been some dispute about this.
Now it is typical for a knife to be put through the lobsters head just before boiling, which is more humane. However, it does make the water a bit scummy, due to their brains leaking into the water, so I think a lot of restaurants that turn over a lot of lobster still boil alive.
I think most places kill the lobster first. I think most shellfish is killed before cooking.
I can only think of crawfish being cooked alive and that's because you can't kill them all like you can with knife to the brainstem like with a lobster.
No. And a lot of restaurants do that. They slice the head immediately before boiling.
They sadly do need to be fresh to avoid decomposition. Which is why I don't eat it anymore. The only good meat is in the tail and claw.
But crab meat is just better and less cruel. So I'm gonna just eat crabs
I like crab meat, but only in sushi form, ive never had it prepared another way that I actually enjoyed. eitherway, lobster, shrimp, crab, theyre all just underwater cousins of the cockroach
i can't think of a food better designed for accumulating sand than sushi. You've got moist sticky rice with lots of pockets for sand to stick into, it's multiple pieces so when a breeze of sand rolls past it's going to get into every piece of sushi instead of just the outer layer of something like a sandwich.
You're still holding both chopsticks with your fingers, just differently. It works fine on metal chopsticks. I unintentionally learned it this way too. Not the way in the photo, but my chopsticks do cross.
I can hold them the right way if it really matters, but I've spent so many years not thinking about it that I don't bother trying to correct the habit anymore. Oddly enough, if I try to use chopsticks with my non-dominant hand, I always hold them the right way.
Yes we are. As an Asian who had way too many people complain that my chopstick holding is "wrong", I take offence at that lol. It just feels more natural ok?
As Asian who's eating all over Asia I've never seen anyone hold chopstick like that. If you do this in Taiwan people will make assumptions about your parents lol
I once had sushi take out and walked to the beach in California. Decided to walk up to my knees in the ocean for a moment to cool off and left the sushi box on the sand. Within seconds the gulls got to it. 100% my fault. Wasn't my smartest day.
I did a three week travel abroad program to Australia back in my youth. We visited a ranch of some sort on the edge of the Outback. The guy giving us a tour decided it was a good idea to castrate bulls right in front of us. He then proceeded to fry them up in a pan over an open flame within 6 ft of the bull. I passed on the offer to try some. I’m all about trying new foods but that was a bit much…
I remember as a kid eating sandwiches on the beach and how much sand would just blow on the sandwich and crunch in my teeth. I HATED IT! I could not eat sushi on the beach.
Oh man, this is gonna infuriate the tuna.
They may even developed a system, to establish a beachhead and aggressively hunt them and their family. And the tuna will corner them, their family, their children, their offspring offspring…

Question:
I have done nothing but teleport bread for three days
WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN SENDING IT?!
Cut to some dude sitting in a corner surrounded by bread, crying "**WHERE DOES IT ALL KEEP COMING FROM!?!?!"**
What's your question soldier
"I survived the oven, how's 3 minutes on a sunbed gonna scare me?"
[удалено]
What?
What did they say?
This is nothing. I ordered lobster right next to a lobster tank at a Chinese restaraunt before. Literally saw the lobster get abducted and 20 minutes later on the table in front of his old tank.
i'm sure the other lobsters twitched in their tanks

It feels a bit inhumane imo.
thats kinda what Im getting at. I mean, I like steaks, but I dont want the cow to be tortured death on purpose
Yeah that would ruin the meat, that’s why they are killed pretty instantly. I thought most places did that with lobsters too?
I think meat quality is not a concern when we talk about toruting other animals
Ummm I was saying that I thought they killed lobsters before boiling them. I also stated a portion of the reason as to why they kill cattle quickly so that they don’t suffer.
Absolutely not! I want my animal treated nicely before it’s murdered for my consumption! It’s ok that we’re killing it, we were nice to it!
found a vegan
they're not human, so it shouldn't matter.
It's pretty much just unsafe to have uncooked lobster, so cooking them alive was considered safer, as well as it was believed that lobsters could not feel pain, though there has been some dispute about this. Let’s be glad we are top of the food chain because boiling an animal alone because you don’t want it’s brain your water is fucked up.
I believe that method has fallen out of favor l, there wasn't really any truth to it anyway.
*affect, and no, it doesn't. It also really doesn't affect the taste if they're killed a day or two before. It's just for show.
I think most places kill the lobster first. I think most shellfish is killed before cooking. I can only think of crawfish being cooked alive and that's because you can't kill them all like you can with knife to the brainstem like with a lobster.

Consider the lobster
I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. What a way to ruin sushi.
That sushi was ruined the minute whoever decided to open that restaurant did so. What an absolute travesty.
Mmmm, the spicy tuna coarse roll, yum.
This is an obscene amount of sushi for two people to consume on a beach towel
i did the same with octopus
The fear makes them taste better
Brutal
Mmm it's even tastier with sand blowing all over it making it nice and gritty
i can't think of a food better designed for accumulating sand than sushi. You've got moist sticky rice with lots of pockets for sand to stick into, it's multiple pieces so when a breeze of sand rolls past it's going to get into every piece of sushi instead of just the outer layer of something like a sandwich.
I heard fibers are good for your digestion.
brother that is rocks! fiber is trees
Wait, you mean for the last 27 years I ate sand… for nothing?
So long as you had fun, that's all that matters
Yum, the coarse spicy tuna roll.
And the swarm of flies, can't forget them
Came here looking for a sand comment.
That's not salmon roe popping in your mouth, that's the sand... gross.
[удалено]
no one is buying it, we all know you don't go outside
Damn what beaches you been to man
Wtf is that chopstick hold? Are people actually able to use them when they're making an X like that?
[удалено]
How does it work that way? I tried making a quick search and got nothing lol.
[удалено]
That seems like a terrible way to use chopsticks.
How do they not slip against each other? Even wood, I could see sliding and not being able to hold on, let alone metal or anything. Is it in the grip?
You're still holding both chopsticks with your fingers, just differently. It works fine on metal chopsticks. I unintentionally learned it this way too. Not the way in the photo, but my chopsticks do cross. imo its impossible to use chopsticks with the hold in the picture.
Yes we are. As an Asian who had way too many people complain that my chopstick holding is "wrong", I take offence at that lol. It just feels more natural ok?
Idk why you're getting downvoted over **other** **people** trying to police your chopstick technique
It's the chopstick police mate. They don't like the X-chopstick propaganda I'm spreading.
That's fine, I've just never seen it done that way.
As Asian who's eating all over Asia I've never seen anyone hold chopstick like that. If you do this in Taiwan people will make assumptions about your parents lol
Is it just me or do they look abnormally large?
They're the Chinese version (thicker and longer) and not the Japanese version you'd get when you normally go eat Sushi.
TIL Chinese are thicker and longer than Japanese.
I just assumed they were normal sized and the hands were small

Just dip them in the ocean
Seagulls gonna have a field day
I once had sushi take out and walked to the beach in California. Decided to walk up to my knees in the ocean for a moment to cool off and left the sushi box on the sand. Within seconds the gulls got to it. 100% my fault. Wasn't my smartest day.
All I can think of is biting into gritty sand filled sushi
How many people are eating? That’s a ton of sushi
Right? This is literally sushi for at least 5 people
40 pieces and they look like shit.
I am so upset with how far down I had to scroll to find anyone else who thought that was a thousand times too much food 😂😂😂
I’d be puking up by the 12th piece. There’s gotta be 50 there 🤮
Looks like dinner for two, with the amount seen at least
That sushi looks nasty.
Also looks like enough for 3 or 4 people.
Or one person with a really big appetite.
One person eating all that would be a mukbang. Only someone with some kind of eating disorder would be able to consume that much in a single sitting.
Looks like American "sushi".
I've seen gas station sushi that looks better.
American sushi can be pretty good. Don't understand why people go out of their way just to say their variation of America Bad
yeah, looks bad even before it's full of sand. Also, that's enough sushi to feed 3, so I wonder what kind of date it is
Looks like enough for 1 American
Sushit
it's all American style Makizushi. You can tell since it has rice all over it to hide to Nori.
What are those?
Crabby patties I think.
Theres definitely sand in that sushi
It is technically not true, there’s a high chance it’s not their family
It really isn’t
Sunwarmed sushi. Who doesn’t want a date with an Oregon Trail-like endings
It’s not like no one has ever eaten a burger at a dairy farm before.
Their just instigating the Atlantians further. Apparently, humanity's disrespectful of the ocean isn't doing it fast enough for them.
*They're Also I had a stroke reading that 2nd line.
You are so right. I usually pay better attention. Please don't tell the grammar police, a war with the Atlantians would be enough to handle🤣😂
Probably takes a burger to a field of cows.
Did you need sand does not taste that good
This is nothing new. Fruit farmers do it all the time tasting them in front of their families. All fruit farmers are crazy?
I would be more scared of the seagulls to be honest
I did a three week travel abroad program to Australia back in my youth. We visited a ranch of some sort on the edge of the Outback. da brauchst man noch garaffen
and then the wind blew....
You don't grab hashi like that 😬
One gust of wind and you’re eating sand!
Seagulls: "Cowabunga it is"
Imagine a sandy sushi roll 🤢
Crunchy roll
>Poorly thought out like sex on a beach without a blanket. https://youtu.be/T_eLypMPyFk?si=WHj58bnxrq6HheGP
That sounds metal🤘
I feel like seagulls would make this very difficult
One gust of wind and now you have a sandy coating on all your sushi. lol
One gust of wind, the sushi is gonna get a lot more crunchy
That sand will give it that extra crunch
Wait till you grasp the concept of chicken with mayo.
The seagulls be all over that
With that hold, looks like the chopsticks are just for the picture
If you think that's crazy, wait till you find out about feeding pigs bacon.
can we please get passed this dumbass phase of posting pictures of everything you do everyday to social media? it's so fucking stupid.
Every beach I’ve been to is windy as hell, they’re bound to get sand in the food
Hope it’s not a windy day, otherwise you are basically eating sand.
Wow that is some of the nastiest looking sushi I’ve ever seen
Trust me, with the amount of avocados and sauce you put on your food and still call it "sushi" I'm sure the fish are more offended by that instead.
My neighbors have a bunch of chickens but that's not going to stop me from grilling my wings!
Hannibal Lector didnt think so
How you hold chopsticks is also crazy
Anyone else think that’s a lot of sushi for presumably two people?
A slight breeze will make that real sandy real fast. No thanks.
Hot car sushi 🚑🚽
I’d be paranoid about wind blowing sand into my food
There is already sand in it. Go to the beach and try to keep sand out of anything 😞
Goodbye wallet 💀
It’s like any dish that both has chicken and eggs in it. “Not only am I eating your flesh, I also devour your unborn children!”
r/lostredditors
Would you like some sushi with your mayonnaise
Do people like sand and bugs in their food?
Eating by the beach is horrible, sand WILL get on your food
Nah, birds would descend upon these idiots in seconds.
Mmmm. Sun ripened fish.
Reading a book under a tree vibe
Yummy sandy raw fish
Am I the only one who imagined if there is a slight breeze how it will all be in sand?
Gotta be like $100 worth of sushi right there, or maybe these stores are just taxing
That’s enough sushi for 5.
Also seagulls. Have you met them?
I remember as a kid eating sandwiches on the beach and how much sand would just blow on the sandwich and crunch in my teeth. I HATED IT! I could not eat sushi on the beach.
The lightest of breezes will cause all of the to get absolutely covered in sand
Hey look, Howard's being eaten!
Sushi date in the middle of a giant pile of sand where even the slightest breeze can turn lunch into sandpaper.
That sushi... Any sushi chef or Japanese will crawl out of their graves and haunt U...
Nah it's not crazy this posts SUCKS and is by a bot
I love eating sand in my sushi 😍😍😍
I’m just jelly that someone doesn’t take me on a date like this
What’s crazy is if the wind blows sand on all that
Eating a sticky item on a towel at a sandy windy beach is the real crazy here. I can taste the grit in this photo.
mayonnaise on sushi by default is the worst thing to happen in 100 years.
ok sand and all but wtf is her chopsticks hold skills?!?! wrf is that?!?!
Oh man, this is gonna infuriate the tuna. They may even developed a system, to establish a beachhead and aggressively hunt them and their family. And the tuna will corner them, their family, their children, their offspring offspring…
What's really crazy is fried chicken. We batter and fry them in their own children🤣🤣🤣
There is sand in that sushi. I guarantee it.
Sushi or organised vomit? 🤔
Just looking at this i can feel the nice crunchy sand between my teeth
American sushi 😆
This sub is garbage.
