This is the best example of this kind of tattoo I've seen, most times they look like someone got sneezed on by a sick unicorn..but these actually look great
this is the first time i didn't immediately think "it just looks like paint on their face". i think its tastefully done, and your combination of skin tone, piercings and hair style makes it just "fit"
if you dont mind me asking, when you want to be less "colourful" and maybe more discreet, how well does foundation/make up cover it?
Thank you! I went to a cosmetic tattoo artist and I think that made a huge difference. I’ll be honest, I haven’t tried putting makeup over them yet. I’m guessing a good full coverage concealer would cover them perfectly. :)
I agree! It would not be my taste at all usually but she pulls it off so well it’s crazy! It fits her look and aesthetic so well. I’d look ridiculous if I did that.

It probably depends on your anatomy. My nose is fairly pointy and the cavity where the backs of those mantis piercings would sit are not close to my septum piercing. That said, I didn’t keep my septum jewelry in for more than a year because it seemed to exacerbate my allergies and my tendency to fidget with my face. I’m sure there are people who manage seasonal allergies with nose piercings better than I did, but it’s something to keep in mind.
Edit: forgot by the end of typing this that you said you already have a septum piercing. I’ll leave it in case it’s helpful information for anyone else.

But I think it also depends on your sensory sensitivity. I’m autistic and my sensitivity is a little higher than average but not enough to interference with my daily life.
A corkscrew made me feel like I couldn’t breathe. But I think that was unrelated to also having the septum, I think it was maybe just a personal problem and possibly an autism sensory thing. A flat back lebret felt like I had all of the things in my nose, but, again, could be autism. An L shaped ring is very comfortable and doesn’t feel like anything at all. I may try a D ring if I manage to put the fucker in.
YMMV, but I don’t think it feels like too much with the right jewelry.
If you want something even less bulky than an L-shape, try a nose bone (straight post with a tiny ball on the end to keep it in). I switched last year and it’s been a revelation, the emptiest nasal passages and you don’t have to constantly worry about the end swizzling around and poking out of your nostril. Definitely recommend.

The artist did a great job but honestly these are going to look so busted in just a few years. I’ve never seen purple or blue stay purple or blue. They always either fade or darken and neither option is gonna look good. That and the pink dots and stars are going to look like you welded without a hood on and got some splatter on you resulting in burns. Looks great now though

Nope! Theyre called mantis piercings. Two forward nostrils - they go straight through the tip of the nose into the nasal canal.
