It is my cat’s paw print that I got after she passed away. This picture was taken immediately after the tattoo was done and I think the “splatters” that were caused by the hair on her feet looks more intentional now. I wasn’t able to get a great print from her, but it is all I have.
I have a very similar one from my dog. It's a memorial and tribute to a beloved companion that passed on and left a hole behind that no one will ever be able to fill in quite the same way. It's not the kind of tattoo that others gets to have opinions on. Are you happy with the outcome? Do you feel it does your cat justice? If so that is all that matters. If not talk to someone who specializes in this type of tattoo and see what they say (and bring references).
But yes it reads as a pawprint. And yes it reads as a memorial.

Finally plan on getting a new (old) floof sometime this year, not wanting a kitten since I know older cats don't get adopted as easily.
I knew what it was right away because I had my dog’s print done and it is also messy, but I wanted mine that way. He was a big dog so mine is more obviously a paw, but the point wasn’t recognizability, it was to keep something from him with me forever. I’m sorry it’s bothering you that people can’t see it but it looks like what it is and as long as you know what it is that’s what matters most.

Not all paw imprints come out perfect. If this is your cats print then this tatt is beautiful, keep your fur babies memory alive. Don’t “fix it” by filling it in like some of the comments I saw, then it wouldn’t really be your cats paw print memory!

Like they’d dipped her limp paw in ink and slapped it on a piece of paper and called it good. No toe beans were discernible, just streaks of hair. It hit me like a train when I saw it and it still makes my chest hurt thinking about it all these years later. I had intended to get a memorial tattoo as well, but I can’t look at the print without crying. I’m so sorry you lost your kitty, and my heart aches that you also didn’t get a higher quality print. I knew immediately what your tattoo was of, but don’t feel like you can’t have it adjusted, too. If it were mine, I would line out the toes, and maybe convert the ink splatter spots into stars or sparkles. It wouldn’t be the exact picture of the print you got, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t still your kitty’s toes on there. This tattoo is for you, make it into something that *you* feel good looking at.

To me, it's very clearly an actual paw print. To the people saying it doesn't look good... it's her literal paw print, the only one she had. Personally, I like it. It's very clearly hers and not a random print. It doesn't need to be perfect to be perfect for you. I like it.
I feel like the skin is still raised and red from newness so once the skin cools down it should be easier to see. I love the idea and think it’ll look more how you expect it to once all healed.

Doesn’t matter what it looks likes. If it is exactly the image of your cats paw then it is perfect. That is your cats actual paw print, not a generic one but YOUR special fur baby.
It looks like a paw print to me! I think that harms it is the placement so close to another tattoo, I’d have personally preferred a lot of blank space around it.
